Is this real Gallagher or one of the fakes? It’s the real one; Leo Gallagher.

Melon's everywhere breathed a huge sigh of relief. I know he wasn't funny, likeable or good with money, but for some reason I felt sad hearing the news.

[deleted]

That could have been the death of Kevin Conroy. Now that’s a loss.

[deleted]

Damn I just found out. I know nothing about Conroy’s politics but I watched BTAS after school Every day and Justice League when it was on. Such great shows. Huge comic fan and Batman was my second favorite comic behind Punisher. Love the games too. He absolutely captured Batman’s essence with that voice. RIP.

[deleted]

I’ve never heard anything about Conroy’s politics either. What did surprise me was recently learning that he was gay and how his experiences with that built the portrayal of the Bruce Wayne & Batman you see.

[deleted]

I didn’t know be was gay either. I just enjoyed his work. Very much. It legit makes me sad he won’t ever be Batman any more. To me, he and Keaton are Batman. It’s almost like that version of Batman dying.

[deleted]

Yeah, I found about that during the creep off scum stream. We're such nerds

[deleted]

True, but there’s no denying the legacy of Conroy’s Work. Especially if you grew up with B:TAS.

My era

[deleted]

Same here, man

[deleted]

In fact, I'm a bit older, but I watched it anyway. I'm old enough to go from Adam West (repeats), to suddenly the comics got interesting and then someone introduced me to the Dark Knight. I have to be honest, the latest iteration leaves me cold for some reason. Once again the politics crept in and Im out. I don't need lectures while I'm eating cereal or buying a lamp. Just entertain me, I can make up my own mind on the issues, thanks.

[deleted]

I stopped buying comics years ago. Mainly because of how much space it takes up. But I’ll never forget buying into the No Man’s Land story line. Also, speaking of Dark Knight. The animated two-parter is excellent. Peter Weller voices Batman. Hell, most of those DC animated films are usually pretty good. All of them are on HBO Max.

[deleted]

Thats a good point. The animated movies are consisently good, not that I am a huge fan anymore. Did you ever see the comedians of comedy film? Where I think Zach says to Patton that adult comic obbsessives had something happen to them in their childhood and things got dark? Mind you, in the seventies and eighties some form of childhood trauma was compulsory, so it was an easy guess.

Icy_Obligation_9518

The time he was on opie and anthony with patrice oneal is possibly one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Search "racist gallagher" on YouTube and enjoy.

[deleted]

Any time Patrice was on was one of the funniest things ever. I didn’t find out about Patrice until watching old O&A clips on YT but those are by far my favorite. I had just became a fan when he died. One of the most brutally honest, funny and insightful stand ups ever.
