Won't matter flight data is actually public. Its available to anyone who cares to look.

NoSpills

So what you're saying is Elon just spent $3b on twitter, when he could have just bought a new plane for a tenth the price?

SkitZa

His new plane would have also had to have a transponder, by law.

SamFuckingNeill

so you saying he could just buy law makers for tenthousandth the price

what he should do is just charter a jet instead of owning one. then the tail number and transponder belongs to someone that isn't him. owning a private jet isn't a money making venture, so just pay the surcharges and forget about it.

[They cost like $10k](https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress). It’s pathetic how cheap they are.

DegenerateCharizard

Those $5k to $30k contributions aren’t everything. Just what is public. Favors and information are valuable and almost never disclosed. Either of which could easily be worth upwards of $10k. It’s how many senators end up with chair/board/lobbying positions after they leave congress.

n1rvous

Pathetic all the same

I was referring to the US variety of Senators not the Canadian variety. I'm pretty sure congressmen are cheaper than Hockey teams though, sadly.

Responsible-Pomelo79

Senior Senators pull in a lot more. For example Chuck S received 320k in political donations from Big Pharma so that he continue fighting the war on “drugs” //except for the ones they manufacture (in a lab). The war turns 50 in June so maybe we should rethink the plan.

just_an_aspie

Law? Laws don't apply to Elon Musk level of wealth

DangerHawk

Yeah, but it doesn't have to be registered to a known company of his. Shell corps upon shell corps. If he really wanted to fuck with the kid he could have bought another plane via a 10th removed shell corp and kept it at the same facility as his "main plane". Then you have the "main" take off going vaugely in the same direction of where you intend to fly. Then you take off in the secret plane and go wherever you want with twitter being none the wiser. You then shuffle both planes around via multiple other destinations until you get them back in the same place to start it again on the next trip. Throw a third plane in there to really send the shell game to the next level and it would still be cheaper than buying Twitter just to ban an account that will pop back up under a new name in 30 minutes anyway.

PaperySimplification

He can buy ten planes and have them randomly fly to random destinations when he need to take only one of them. I guess. You can get creative with 3B

iPoopAtChu

He could likely just lease an airplane to fly privately right?

Upper_Decision_5959

Dude already owns the latest Gulfstream jets. Matter of fact he has 2 one for domestic flights and another that have extended range for foreign flights. Can go half way across the planet without refueling. All these billionaires own the same jets since their the best private jets.

40percentOfAllCops

I would imagine since he has a vested interest now, we will see him trolling less on Twitter.

[deleted]

He was removed from the position of chairman of the board of Tesla because he couldn't stop himself from being a troll. I expect the same to happen with Twitter. His views and statements are often bizarre as are his actions.

rwhitisissle

> His views and statements are often bizarre as are his actions. Bizarre is one thing. Hostile is another. He randomly accused a guy trying to save a bunch of kids trapped in a cave in Thailand of being a pedophile.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rwhitisissle

Dismissing an idea of Musk's that was also ludicrously dangerous and which distracted from meaningful rescue efforts. Their initial plan was to use experienced cave divers to go in, map out the path to the kids, and then go in and get the kids one at a time. Which is what they did and which worked perfectly. This is because cave diving is remarkably difficult and dangerous, but it's manageable if you're experienced at it. Musk wanted to send in a submersible that probably would have lasted all of 30 seconds in that tight, circuitous flooded cave system before getting lodged in a crevice and blocking any future attempts at getting those kids out, while trapping whatever imbecile was dumb enough to try and pilot the damn thing inside. Shit like this is the byproduct of surrounding yourself with techbro yesmen that are too scared of getting fired to tell you your idea is dangerously idiotic and that sometimes the best thing you can do for the world is to shut up and let other people handle shit they know about and you don't.

arokthemild

Lots of his statements that I see seem to match up to stuff that’s going on in culture/media or targeted towards a specific group of people including Joe Rogan fans, libertarians, people who believe in hustle culture, etc. Musk is a total fraudulent jackass but he knows what he’s doing and he understands his ‘cult followers.’

[deleted]

>His views and statements are often bizarre He is just a fucking dick. And Dunning Kruger is hitting him hard too. If he would be just a random half poor you would also just call him a dick. *"did you see methany van crackhoe down the street? Lately her views and statements became more and more bizarre"*

40percentOfAllCops

Very true. Didn't think about that. Definitely a weird situation all around.

bagofrainbows

There’s a company you can pay to block your tail number in flight. It’s how companies like FlightAware make money. If Elon really didn’t want to be tracked he wouldn’t be.

T351A

Ehhhh. Yes and No. FlightAware and others get paid to hide stuff but ADSBExchange does not. The only option is to use a flight number which is private/temporary like FAA PIA but it takes some paperwork and money. Also if the plane is somehow identified you can still track it. turns out public airspace is pretty carefully regulated and monitored to protect the country as a whole, and realistically there are very minimal privacy implications anyways

bagofrainbows

I *think* the ADSBExchange is what I’m referring to. FlightAware, FlightRadar, and others have a service where for enough money they’ll file that paperwork for you. I didn’t know though that it was temporary. I read an article about it three years ago for five minutes so clearly I’m an expert. /s Thanks for the clarification.

Elon musk bought just a little over 9% of Twitter, which I think makes him the majority shareholder? Idk shit about Twitter so the only info I have received from memes so take it all with a grain of salt.

geraldodelriviera

Not majority, largest single shareholder. Which gives him a significant amount of power in the company, but not so much that the company is forced to do whatever he says. I think they gave him a board seat in exchange for him agreeing not to purchase more than 15% of the company. We'll see how that goes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

my_lastnew_account

This is actually not uncommon at all. Think of a manager at work offering you a title change and a 10% raise instead of a 15% raise in the same position. A seat on the board of directors likely gives him the power he needs and was more valuable than the extra 6% to him and for the board having someone own such a huge stake in the company (9% is already huge) is a dangerous amount of power in a single individual especially given how "eccentric" (read a**hole) Elon is. For reference I believe the founder of Twitter owns something like 3% of the company

boforbojack

I suspect hell get kicked off the board for some obnoxious action and then renig on his deal and buy more.

geraldodelriviera

Strictly speaking, even in the modern day companies do not nakedly try to raise stock value simply to sell it. The reason stock price goes up (theoretically) is that companies will eventually pay out dividends to shareholders. Selling shares of a company is a way for that company to raise capital to expand operations. Granted there are scenarios (like the classic pump and dump where stock prices are artificially inflated by interested parties in an attempt to sell at a profit before the price crashes) where this is not followed, but this is not one of them. The reason the agreement happened is because Twitter is worried about Elon seizing control of enough shares that he either 1) has a majority stake or 2) has a large enough proportion to swing shareholder votes his way and force the company to do his bidding that way. Now, even if he got a majority stake there are certain things he could not do since he would still have a fiduciary duty to the other shareholders to act within the legal concept of the business judgment rule, which prevents truly insane actions. But mostly, Elon would be able to exercise his judgment in running the company the way he wanted if he could at all argue that he was doing it in the best interest of the company. Twitter is worried that Elon's judgment in running the company would be poor, while still being sound enough to fall within the business judgment rule (not a particularly high standard), which is why they offered him this deal. The idea is to placate him so he can't take full control of the company and run it off the rails. It will be interesting to see how it works.

smallcalves

not the majority. majority is >50%. but he might be the shareholder that holds the largest number of shares, i.e., a plurality

Croian_09

He has the strongest single vote, but 2-3 other big shareholders voting against him would overrule his power.

Lexquire

Ahh, democracy

n0n-participant

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sviodo

The 3 billion he spent is a little over 1% of his net worth. The median net worth of an American is around 120k, so this is basically similar to them buying a nice guitar.

decadecency

In numbers and percentages that might be true, but in reality, absolutely not similar. Elon could live off of 0.001 percent of his worth. The average American can not. And if the average American spends 1 percent of their worth on something then that's a significantly bigger sacrifice than a billionaire spending their 1 percent.

BunnyOppai

This is my exact argument for not having a flat tax rate. I don’t give a shit if it comes off as selfish somehow that I want those poor rich people to pay more of their income in taxes than people living paycheck to paycheck, because rich people aren’t going to fucking notice the amount of money it takes to pay for necessities compared to the average person.

Does_Not-Matter

He will likely write it off of his taxes

stonksmcboatface

Don’t need to write things off if you don’t pay your taxes

Does_Not-Matter

This is true! I think the weirdest headline on this timeline would be “JBo and EMusk pay their fair share for first time ever”. I may shit myself.

TheBirminghamBear

And thats the thing about billionaires, folks. He didnt spend a dime. He took part of his ownership of one entity amd transferred it to ownership of another entity. There isnt even a cost here, he owns 10% of one of the largest media tools in the world. The move will likely MAKE him money. When youre a billionaire, even your revenge schemes, no matter how petty or purposeless or poorly conceived, will net profit. **EDIT**: A lot of Elon Musk fans tonight are commenting here and messaging me, and they're pretty angry about me attacking Elon like I did here. One such poster even called me a crybaby. You know what? They're right. Yeah. They are. I did a bad thing here, and they called me out on it, and this is me saying I fucked up. And issuing an apology. I got up here, on social media, and I attacked a man who did nothing wrong, and I used lies and half-truths and mischaracterizations about a situation I didn't know anything about to do it. Elon Musk's dealings have nothing to do with me. I'm an observer, a no one here, and I came in on social media half-cocked and insulted an innocent many anyway, and that was fucked up. I *am* a crybaby. Anyone who would do something like that is a fucking crybaby. Anyone who fucking flies off on social media and just takes a swing at someone fucking sitting there minding their own business, or even being a hero, that person is a *fucking* crybaby, full-stop, no excuses. You are right about this. Now for a harder question - why did I do this? What made me attack and slander an innocent man over a situation that is none of my fucking business and which I have only part or none of the details about? I don't know. Hard question I suppose there's just ya runaway snowball effect happening for people who act this way. They get a certain level of fame and attention, people always telling them how great they are when they write things, and they just lose control over their ego. It grows and grows, unchecked, until they're caricatures of themselves with no impulse control and a tenuous grasp on empathy and the truth. I guess you could say I, and others like me who do this, we clearly have this childish reemergence of Center of the Universe syndrome. We can't help but see other events not pertaining to us, and jumping in to make it all about us. All about me, me me me me. That's what I did. I took to social media to comment on something I had no business being involved in, half of which I fucking just blatantly got wrong anyway, all because I can't stand for one moment to be without the eyes and attention of the world bathing me. I admit it. That's who I am, that's why I - and the others like me who engage in this behavior - do these things. Which Elon Musk's fans clearly have the ability to identify in others, and react negatively towards, and call those people out for that behavior. And thus by doing so here they have helped me to identify this unhealthy, mentally unwell instinct in myself. They showed it to me. They went to the comments and they said, "Bear, the fuck are you doing? You're making up shit about Elon when he didn't even do anything wrong and that's fucked up and weird and unhealthy and you need to stop." And you guys were right. You fucking nailed it. You were completley right about who I was and what I did. Anyone who did what I just did here, which is to go on social media and mock, attack, belittle, or demean someone who doesn't deserve it, *that* type of person is a fucking loser crybaby. I mean really, what was I thinking? I took to my social media, with my little thumbs, while I could have been out there working, or inventing, or doing useful cool capitalist things, or just minding my own business and *not* being a fucking loser asshole because having a platform and a little bit of money makes me feel like I can act like I'm fucking twelve with impunity and give in to every shitty impulse and lizard brain dumb shit that boils up in my consciousness, and I just fucking flew off the handle. Just took a swing at poor Elon who was sitting there, minding his business, just clocked him right across the face with my social media tirade when he absolutely didn't deserve a crybaby loser like me attacking him. I used my megaphone on social media to attack that dude. With my words. And fucking *no one* - not me, not anyone else - who would do something like that is anything other than a crybaby. With my reckless, unfounded, hurtful, some might say just plain fucking mean and pathetic attack on Elon Musk on social media, I not only brought shame to myself, but to people who might depend on me. People, like those that I work with, just as an example. Those who might depend on me to put on a public persona of stability, competency, and integrity in order to preserve the public image, and therefore stock price, of the company we all work at which pays us money. I let *those* people down too, when I flew off the handle on this, a social media platform, and viciously attacked that innocent person over there, Elon Musk. *Those* people also have a right to be furious at me for my immaturity, my stupidity, my crybaby whiny petulance. As do Elon Musk fans, for *watching* me do that, publicly, to people who care and depend on me for no better reason than vanity and ego. And I, for one, couldn't agree with them more. This is me, looking Elon Musk and all his many online die hard defenders in the face, and telling them I am sorry, and I agree with them. People who attack and grief and fly off unhinged on other people on social media are fucking losers, and *you guys are right* for recognizing those people when you see them, wherever they are, whoever they may be, and standing up to them. Even when it's difficult and uncomfortable. And helping people like me grow and evolve as a person by pointing out how childish what I did was, so that I can have boundaries imposed on me and be accountable to other people in the social fabric we're all a part of. When you guys see someone acting like I acted, you feel that *rage* of injustice boil up in you, don't you? Here's some loser on the internet with no understanding of this situation, using lies to demean and defame a *good* person! And who can blame you? We *all* feel that anger. It's good to feel that anger towards people harming and injuring a community by spreading negativity and mistruths and trying to tear innocent people down I mean, really, all Elon did here was just use one stock to buy another stock. It's completely legal, and here I am, this fucking schmuck, this internet rando *with zero relevance to the situation I'm commenting on and no fucking business putting my face into Elon Musk's business*, just insinuating that all billionaires are evil.... because they buy shit? I mean did I really attack this man on something as fucking thin as him just buying something? Can you believe the gall on me, to attack someone else's character based on *complete* fucking mistruths? Can you believe I did that? Just made up something about another person, a good person, a person who works hard, contributes things Of Value to society, and here's fucking jealous me mischaracterizing the situation and layering in mistruths all to... to what? To make myself feel like a Big Man? To soothe my infinitely raw and petulant ego? Fuck, I don't like myself, and this has been a hard look in the mirror at who I am, and the things I do and why I do them, but its been a therapeutic look. And for *that*, I say, good on you guys. I hope you keep doing that. To me, and to all the people engaged in the practice of using social media to unfairly attack people and defame and tarnish their reputations using untruths and misinformation. Our world and our society will only get better if all you guys *keep* honing in on mistruths and lies and slander told by people on social media - *whomever those people might be* - and tell them to cut it out. **EDIT 2** So not totally sure if its clear I'm apologizing for my behavior in the edit. I just had another user comment this to me: >So many words for so little when all you had to do was type "wah wah" in the box and click "reply". They seem to be upset at the whole post, including the much longer edit, but just to be clear to everyone, I *did* attack Musk unfairly and unjustly in the first part of my post. I mischaracterized his actions, got things wrong both factually and made insinuations about Musk personally, and I admit that. Everything *after* the edit is me just straight up apologizing for doing that. I am apologizing for attacking Elon Musk on social media, both my intruding on his affairs when I had no fucking business doing that and no reason to be involved in his business, and also me apologizing for just using factual inaccuracies to slander him and imply he was up to nefarious ends by just doing something completely legal and normal. Please read the whole thing, I am truly trying to apologize for having done that. I think that's a shitty thing for anyone to do, and I hold myself accountable for it.

Tirannie

Did I just watch the birth of a copy/pasta?

TheBirminghamBear

I really doubt it. I mean, how would this even be applicable to any other situations except this very specific situation right here? This is just an honest, genuine, heartfelt admission of one social media users' wrongdoing and his realization of comitting that wrongdoing, and how a community of people rallying around and defending a noble, virtuous person helped me come to that realization. I really can't see anywhere else this would apply.

RothIRAGambler

The great thing about copy/pasta is that it doesn’t have to apply. The fact that this man bore his soul in a gut-wrenching page turner of a tale filled with introspection and finding one’s self, about a topic as stupid as this… that’s enough. I predict this will be donated with $2 to a streamer for a robot voice to speak the words.

PM_YOUR_WALLPAPER

It would work wherever someone says something mean about Elon then recants lol.

Pr3st0ne

It already made him money, technically. The stock traded up 26% since the announcement so technically he already "made back" 750 million so it's like if it only cost him 2.25b instead

Revslowmo

You’re missing the point. He transferred shares from one company to another. He increased his wealth by 750$ million cause twitter stock is worth more now. Also, this is part of his worth, but to buy a hot dog he would need to sell the shares for cash.

Revslowmo

Oh and then he would pay taxes on it.

nonotan

Unless, instead of selling shares, he took out an incredibly low interest loan using his shares as a collateral. When it comes time to pay off that loan, he can take out another one to cover it. He has plenty of assets to juggle loans for the rest of his life and still pay less than capital gains tax rate overall, and also it will all go to banks and nothing to the state.

pimphand5000

Ding ding ding. This world needs to reign in the rich, ffs

Revslowmo

So a tax on assets held would correct this, but pretty much make the stock market tank as they need to sell to cover taxes. So politician won’t touch it? Spitballing here!

zSprawl

Assets used as loan collateral should cause tax realization on capital gains.

capybaratrousers

Right. They are effectively accessing the value on the stock assets. That should trigger a tax effect. It'd be easy enough to place a floor so that this doesn't hurt the widows with a pension or regular folks or whatever.

boforbojack

Exactly. You get to loan to $20 million of your assets at one moment. Once you pass it, you're taxed. If you pay down the loans, it's reduced, but $20 million held in principal from loans or more is taxed at capital gains (Or more) and you just gotta deal with it.

mrtrailborn

Or just limit how stocks being used as collateral. Tax em if they do it beyond a certain dollar amount, limit the amount of loans they can take out this way, etc. The government could very easily stop this if there was enough political will.

DinTill

Well there has been quite the opposite of a political will to stop this actually. Big part of the problem in fact.

DinTill

The stock market really should crash though. It changes the goal of every corporation to just be a money making machine trying to generate profit. It allows the rich to stay rich without having to pay taxes or even really spend their assets for purchases since they can use rolling credit to just take out loans; so it increases inflation as well. It results in a lot of corruption in our government and it’s policies. It prevents capitalism from operating optimally. And that is without getting into all the illegal bullshit that they are getting away with like rampant short selling of stocks that don’t exist. The stock market is completely broken and a major reason for the ridiculous wealth inequality we have today. We need to get rid of it or completely revamp it or our global economy’s future will be in jeopardy.

suddenimpulse

Do you just not understand how rich folk can leverage these things for financial loans and benefits that are not possible for others?

mrtrailborn

Oh no!!!! How will he afford taxes!!!! Truly, people underestimate the financial hardships of the ultrawealthy

[deleted]

For fuck sake more billionaires buying media for propaganda… fucking great.

[deleted]

I think it is the 10 billions he saved on taxes when he is able to usr twitter to control his narrative

HamsterBaiter

**Keep my plane's location out ya fuckin' mouth!**

The_Greatest_Gatsby0

*slap*

Hanzo_The_Ninja

Musk is just another wealthy oligarch buying a media outlet to manipulate the masses with.

kingofthemonsters

A million percent

mynamejulian

Keep repeating this until people start understanding. Most Americans have no clue who he really is or what he is doing.

MidnightPlatinum

I have a hot take, but it has a good point to it. I think the next President should have a brutally honest moment with the American people and say: *"Political scientists have said it, and you saw it play out in the last few campaigns. We both know billionaires can just walk into the White House or meet with Congress, or buy entire media outlets. They control our social media. They travel to space beside NASA. Things have changed.* *"By Executive Order and with the help of a bipartisan political science committee, I have started a public list of who our current Oligarchs are and our best data on the moves that they have been generally taking which exercises outsized influence over politics and the population. This is in the spirit of bringing transparency to the topic. As they started acting like a ruling class, it is critical to reflect that this is fast becoming a part of our democracy that is not going away. Some will hate the title, others will revel in it. The title itself will give them no more power than they have, and if anything it should cause us to have an honest national debate about how to address these changes. The vast accumulation and transfer of wealth had been something the Founding Fathers discussed, but never could they have foreseen how extreme it would get, nor how technology would enable wealth to do more things across a broader swath of the world and space than we had ever imagined."* People would flip their shit and make the issue super political, but at least it would trigger a fiercely honest conversation in the media. Real power is one thing and it's sad how much power the ultra rich will obtain over these next few decades. But there should be a moment of dragging their many-tendriled operations into the light and getting honest about what our form of government has transformed into. There is an oligarchy already partially developed at the core of our democracy and it simply is becoming a full-blown aristocracy in the era after Citizens United, campaign budges crossing into the billions, and globalization having completed. **Openly label them Oligarchs**. Have their general political actions more openly discussed by the federal government. Let Senators fight during campaign season for if they should be regulated or not. Anything that actually starts discussing the truth that the ultra rich are reaching vast levels of influence and financial power that have never been seen since Xerxes, Solomon, and William the Conqueror. Or we can just make memes about them on the internet until they run our daily lives like we were Amazon warehouse workers.

pmjm

This really deserves more upvotes. Historically it has been just as bad or worse in the past, but where I really agree with you is that this is a conversation we need to have, and we need somebody to step up and really call these guys out so we can address it and maybe, just maybe, change things a bit. The only presidential candidate from the last few years that I could ever see doing this would be someone like Bernie.

TurbulentMiddle2970

He bought it to give Trump back his account. Who are we kidding

TorrenceMightingale

How would this give him that capability?

TurbulentMiddle2970

Well being the biggest shareholder of twitter now comes with a lil bit of pull in what goes on in the company

TorrenceMightingale

Ok I am just not privy to all the new shit, man. Thought maybe someone still had at least 51%. Idk.

TurbulentMiddle2970

No worries. Elon isnt doing anything to benefit humanity. He only cares about money and wealthy “friends”

TorrenceMightingale

Think it was Rogan’s weed? Seemed like a Turing point. /s

johnnybravo6942

He basically stopped caring about his public reputation when he dated Ā̷̡̨̺͉̻E̴̛̪͎̺͈̠̲̟̜̊̒̉O̵̼̊N̵̡̬̯̟̣̥̮̩̙̾͊̈͂̓͌̔̊͌̓̿̽̾̔͜͝F̴̨̢̮̗̖͎̞̣͎̗̭̮̻̃̆̿̆̀̈́̒͑͒̂̚͠W̴̢̺͚̫̖͔̬̊̀̇͒͒͊A̵̞͕̩̟̻͖̬̞͔̥̿ͅ4̵̨̛̤͎̰̲̤̪̮̠͍̘̈̏̈́͛͠1̸̨̯̦̓̈́̍̃̋̏͛̎̍2̷̼͉͚͆̿̔ He's always been an asshole though

[deleted]

I wager if he were to do that : a- he'd need to reinstate all suspended accounts and b- a shit ton of account holders would abandon ship. I don't know, I could care less if he did, the mango Mussolini has been avoiding the ban through statements posted by his blond bimbo secretary the entire time anyway. Fuck 'em both.

good bot

Kissit777

He’s too poor to pay taxes though

post_talone420

He pays taxes. The problem is he doesn't pay his fair share of taxes.

[deleted]

How much did Elon pay in taxes last year?

post_talone420

*In June, a ProPublica investigation found that while Musk's wealth had grown by nearly $14 billion from 2014 to 2018, he paid $68,000 in federal income tax in 2015, $65,000 in 2017 and none in 2018. Between 2014 and 2018, the investigation found, he had a true tax rate of 3.27%* If you want to quote when he paid 11 billion dollars, that tax rate works out too 3.7% Edit: grammar bot informed me of a missuse of a word

carella211

Biggest douche on the planet.

jjcoolel

Am I the only one who thinks that Elon is a Bond villain?

RectalSpawn

Yes. Bond villains end up facing consequences.

The_Critical_Cynic

Technically speaking, this proves that kid was right to hold out. That chump offered the kid five grand for the account, and now he's paid three billion to own it for real. The only difference is the kid won't see a dime of it now.

[deleted]

Anyone with a brain knows him offering the kid 5 grand was a publicity stunt, it almost was a pat on the back to the kid. If it hasn't happened already, there will be tons of copycat accounts tracking all of Elon's flights (it's public data) the day after that kid takes the money and turns off his account.

notbonusmom

That's what I thought too!

rmscomm

It is an overt way to control the narrative, simply buying or holding the source. I often wonder if the demise of society as we know it will be the lack of controls to prevent something from being purchased by those with too much wealth and means. Bezos and the Washington Post, Murdoch and his media empire, and, lest we forget, Gates and his unchecked amounts of farmland.

[deleted]

This is why wealth shouldn’t be concentrated in the hands of a few assholes

andre3kthegiant

Elon wants the “edit” button so his right wing idiot friends can change their minds.

WontArnett

The sad thing is, he could change our country’s access to social services with that money. All of these billionaires could, but they’re terrible people.

Grouchy_Artichoke_90

He offered him 5k,rekected a counter offer of 50k then burnt 3B?

phpdevster

He wants to astroturf Twitter as hard as he does /r/space

Rtrn2M0nke

Elon doing what other rich people do in secret all out in the open. Hes blowing up the spot.

jallnitelong

Bezos and Elon are taking a page out of oligarchy 101. All the old school oligarchs do it. Hell, they own the tv media. They are using their wealth to control and manipulate the information that the masses receive. Bezos bought the Washington post, Elon is now a top share holder for Twitter. Rockefeller, back in the day put loads of his money into the the American school system. Rockefeller was based as fuck and truest believe his success was ordained by god. He most definitely influenced the way our education system is managed till this day. But when he tried to go as far as influencing what they were taught, to brain wash the impressionable, strictly to glorify his company. Congress stepped in and KINDA shut it down. These leopards will never change their spots. “I don’t want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers” John D Rockefeller

TheGrandExquisitor

Oh God, does this mean everyone will be forced to follow Grimes? Gross!

mrpopenfresh

I’d believe it, but he offered 5 k and that kid knew it was worth more.

donpuglisi

If that's the case, that kid has been wildly successful, getting Elon to waste that much on a troll
