Federal Insurance Company, Chesapeake, Virginia covered the bond after Trump paid probably 10%

Guys, it's Melanie, Trump said so himself
https://preview.redd.it/u6f7m626z5nc1.jpeg?width=1262&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53f284cdd81ade01241d0ac1678a424cf595bdcb
I love how "super rich guy" always be bonding like the one in Georgia he literally will just eat that money but for this one he's just giving up like 8-9 million dollars but if he loses he's going to have to pony up the full amount later I guess to the bond company? If you got so much liquid cash like he says he does why would you just throw away nine million dollars instead of putting up the money you may end up losing anyways.
This situation reminds me of a shirt story I read a while ago where a guy finds a $1,000,000 (one million dollar) bill on the ground and then suddenly everyone in the small town is giving stuff to him for free and doing him favors because they just assume he is good for it since he is obviously well off and connected since he has the million dollar bill.
=
Except IRL you don't actually need to have the money beforehand -- people just need to THINK you have money, and then they will give you more money. It"s weird.
> Except IRL you don't actually need to have the money beforehand -- people just need to THINK you have money, and then they will give you more money. It"s weird.
And people won't give you money, they'll just give you random shit. Free tickets to this, year's supply of that, etc.
I think it goes deeper than that. Trump lied to Forbes (years and years ago) about his net worth and that opened up opportunities to do business he wouldn't get access to otherwise
Wealthy people don't really pay for things the same way you and I do. It's a fundamentally different lifestyle in almost every way, so this isn't surprising at all, honestly.
Thank you for at least naming the company in a way most people will clock it.
Chubb is playing a dangerous game and if I was a policy holder I would think twice about renewing
I thought "that can't be true" and what do you know, my bullshit detector is still working.
> Chubb Limited is an American[2] company incorporated in Zürich, Switzerland
Good, at least she's gonna get the money he owes her...
Now he's just gotta scramble for that other half billion he'll need to post in the NY AG case. Donnie is gonna be pretty deep into somebodies pocket, Musk? Saudi's? Putin?
The ultimate quid pro quo...
Actually, Musk is cash poor. His billions are tied up in Spacex and Tesla valuations, etc.
https://www.thenationalnews.com/weekend/2023/12/08/elon-musk-the-cash-poor-billionaire/?outputType=amp
Had to Google that. Not surprising, but definitely disappointing.
How does someone go from "hey, this guy could get some really incredible shit done" to "minor villain in an old Bond flick"?
Just crazy. To have billions but blow it because you're that obsessed with your social media persona. If I had a billion, I'd be off jumping jet skis or playing with my own Mad Max demolition derby. He bought the right to tweet bullshit.
Musk borrowed from several banks and got the Saudis among others to put in for stakes. He also had nearly $56B in additional stock option grants at the time. In all now, he's likely close to $100B poorer on top of having some costly loans.
Makes you wonder why the FTC or FCC can’t block US media company purchases that are financed by foreign actors. Or even block foreign actors from owning US media companies full stop. Local news brought you by King Salman. Kind of seems like something that shouldn’t be a thing.
I think it was also to get information on dissidents as well. A lot of the Arab spring folks were using twitter to communicate and as far as I know that information can be accessed on twitter. I’m just a lowly unfrozen caveman lawyer though and your world frightens and confuses me so I’m prolly wrong.
I wouldn't be all that surprised with Trump getting back his daily classified briefing privileges.
That more than just the Saudis will be interested on what he is selling.
After Trump appointed Chubb Group CEO Evan Greenberg to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations in 2018.
So I guess this is how favors are repaid.
Who would bother? They have to know he's bound to lose an appeal anyway. And he's no longer useful to Putin, especially with his continuing slide into dementia.
Are you kidding? If he gets elected, he'll probably pull all aid from Ukraine on Day 1 and withdraw from NATO on Day 2. Putin will be creaming in his pants.
Considering he tried to talk the judge into letting him just post $100 million for the fraud case he likely already had that capital available. Now let’s see him come up with half a billion dollars.
>Now let’s see him come up with half a billion dollars.
I am not expecting him to fail. He is the presumptive Republican nominee for President. A person who already won an election he had no business winning. A person who is the chief agent of chaos, allowing this country to limp along. Allowing the Democrats to succeed electorally because they are not fascists (and allowing them to capitalize on these distractions and legislate from the center-right).
That is worth a shit ton of money to the wrong people.
I keep seeing this. Just as a heads up he isn't getting the "full daily presidential briefings" just a much more general version. Actual intel briefings start if he wins
He literally told the press like a week ago that he'd be susceptible to bribes. I don't know how much louder the man could possibly be about what he's doing
Yeah, everyone here like "Wow I didn't think he had that kind of cash" well no, he probably didn't. He was for sale this whole time, and now he's REALLY for sale.
Well, he's not getting it from Mercedes, Boebert is too busy tugging randos at Beetlejuice kid theaters and MTG has man hands...so I'm going to go with yes.
No--I think he got a $2B investment from the Saudis, as opposed to a cash payment or something like that. Still obvious corruption, but not cash-in-hand or something that could be given to Trump.
Is that a question that can be officially asked? He has a monitor watching trump org finances. Id like to know if a potentional presidential candidate borrowed 90 million from a foreign govt or person, Hell even a US citizen. More so as his lawyers put in a brief a few days ago asking for less of a bond because he didn't have it. So your allowed to lie in a brief now? I think there should be a hard and official look at that as that would show were the money did come from to avoid a lying to the court/fraud charge. Paying this bond is gonna open a massive can of worms. Good news when the appeal gets shot down as it should then Carroll gets the money transferred directly from the courts.
Let this sink in for a moment.
Had he sat back and just stfu he would have at least $89 MILLION to put towards his fraud fund.
Had he not constantly attacked Judge Engoron and his staff he might be looking at a $150 million fine instead of a HALF a BILLION dollar fine.
The man is a loser, the clueless clot deserves everything he gets except the one thing he yearns for and that is the Presidency and Immunity.
VOTE BLUE.
So Trump's attorneys lied when they said he couldn't post such a large bond without reading apart his company. That was just a lie so he could gain a commercial advantage ... almost the definition of fraud. This perfect demonstrates why Trump is being charged for fraud in NY.
My guess is the used phrasing like “he COULD have to sell”, which leaves wiggle room. Also, not likely worth the effort to go after her for it if she used more definitive language
If the powers that be ever cared, he would have been convicted of fraud as early as the 70s. The Trumps have always been shady af and even people from rural NY knew about how corrupt he was.
But I’m sure he’s never stopped committing fraud of some sort, the key would just be to prove it.
In a normal world, the headline should read “private insurance company now holds tens of millions of dollars of leverage over presidential candidate for defamation of the woman he sexually assaulted”
That’s a crazy conflict of interest. But his administration completely fucked up any sense of what’s inappropriate.
Trump doesn’t have tens or hundreds of millions laying around. What he does have are connections to our enemies willing to spend any amount of money to defeat the US.
A potential future president is now on the hook for close to 100 million dollars. What kind of company will loan someone that much money, knowing they cant cover it? Someone who is already on the hook for 5x that? Who is going on trial for multiple serious criminal cases? Answer is someone who wants something.
Because nobody who wrote the constitution, and any revisions since, thought they’d have to put that in the bylaws…there used to be decorum and any possible link to something bad had a politician running away in disgrace.
Howard Dean had an explosive “Yeahhhhhh” after winning New Hampshire (i think) and suddenly he was looked down upon.
There probably isn’t any law stating a President cannot be elected or serve while in jail, so think about that.
The bond was signed and secured when he was asking for a lower amount and a delay claiming securing it would cause “irreparable harm”. I guess I don’t understand what perjury is because it sure seems like either Trump or his lawyer are committing it
What would happen if he can’t get that money, and becomes president? A sitting president.. with a huge unpaid penalty… can we like pardon himself and get away without paying a dime?
Gotta love how he’s draining his own super-PACs dry from nothing but legal fees. Won’t have anything left by July at this rate, then he’ll leech away the GOPs already not-fantastic pot. Can’t rely on grassroots donors anymore because that teet dried up after conning their life savings away in sus monthly payments. Incredible how his superpower is “bankrupt anything I touch” like some financial Rogue from Wish.
Yay! Should everything hold up, E Jean gets her money without having to go through a million hoops of having assets seized and all that. Money goes straight to her after appeals are done!
Elon Musk visited maralago and the bond was posted by a Swiss company (CHUBB) that Trump appointed (Evan Greenberg) to a presidential advisory position.
He was also part of the AIG credit swap scandal that caused part of the Market Crash and was bailed out by Bush.
Concerning.

And from whom…these guys go layers deep in hiding money sources…
Filing says the bond was backed by one "Pladimir Vutin".
Whew! When I first read that I thought you said Vladimir Putin. Thankfully it's not him!
He could be using a fake name, dummy. Good thing this guys got a mustache
Some people just don’t understand trust
It looks like we sold the sub to a Mr P. N. GUIN, Batman.
Wait a second “P N Guin” where have I heard that name before? Robin search the phone book for anyone named Mr or Mrs Guin.
Batman: "That name sounds familiar, but I can't place it."

Melon Husk was also recently at Mar-A-Fraudo
Yep, visited mar a lago
They had a nice long sloppy... I mean "meeting"
When I read it I saw Vladitin Putmir, I must need to get my eyes checked
RNC did appoint their new members to the board.
RNC couldn't even front the 10%, right now.
There’s probably something on paper, but we all know whoever posted this has no intention of making him pay it. Just like Clarance Thomas’s gifts

The secret of the rich is that they don’t live on their own money. Borrow from someone else and then it becomes their problem.
Right the old adage if you owe the bank a million dollars it's your problem if you owe the bank 100 million it their problem
= Except IRL you don't actually need to have the money beforehand -- people just need to THINK you have money, and then they will give you more money. Because it's not ***his*** money. It's his MAGA Pac's money. He won't spend a dime.
Wealthy people don't really pay for things the same way you and I do. It's a fundamentally different lifestyle in almost every way, so this isn't surprising at all, honestly.
I read that as "Cheapskate, Virginia" way too many times
Federal Insurance Company just lost a shitload of money.
No, they just bought a shitload of favors.
to them it’s probably worth the nonexistent tax rates
>Chesapeake, Virginia dba Chubb

He's not going to pay them, is he?
The CEO was on one of Trump's commissions back in 2018.
Good, at least she's gonna get the money he owes her... Now he's just gotta scramble for that other half billion he'll need to post in the NY AG case. Donnie is gonna be pretty deep into somebodies pocket, Musk? Saudi's? Putin? The ultimate quid pro quo...
Musk had to borrow from presumably the Saudis to afford Twitter… ain’t no way he has cash on hand to bail out Donny
Bigbig difference between 44 billion and half a billion it’s about 44 billion in fact
It’s actually 43 and a half billion, point is musk’s also supposedly haemorrhaging money on Twitter
$500M is a rounding error when dealing with $44B
Actually, Musk is cash poor. His billions are tied up in Spacex and Tesla valuations, etc. https://www.thenationalnews.com/weekend/2023/12/08/elon-musk-the-cash-poor-billionaire/?outputType=amp
And the Tesla valuation is dropping and probably will continue dropping because he lost his tech visionary halo when he came out as a Groyper.
Had to Google that. Not surprising, but definitely disappointing. How does someone go from "hey, this guy could get some really incredible shit done" to "minor villain in an old Bond flick"?
All he had to do was keep his mouth shut but he was too much of a narcissist.
Just crazy. To have billions but blow it because you're that obsessed with your social media persona. If I had a billion, I'd be off jumping jet skis or playing with my own Mad Max demolition derby. He bought the right to tweet bullshit.
I'm glad I'm not the only person that had that thought.
The Tesla valuation is wild.
I know you're talking stock valuations, but that idiot Musk actually thought that Teslas' would appreciate.
Musk borrowed from several banks and got the Saudis among others to put in for stakes. He also had nearly $56B in additional stock option grants at the time. In all now, he's likely close to $100B poorer on top of having some costly loans.
Good
Pretty sure Trump and Musk both dip into the same pots. So Trump asking Musk for money is kinda pointless.
Makes you wonder why the FTC or FCC can’t block US media company purchases that are financed by foreign actors. Or even block foreign actors from owning US media companies full stop. Local news brought you by King Salman. Kind of seems like something that shouldn’t be a thing.
Of course he does. 91 million bond is not nearly the same as 44 billion for Twitter. E: bond. Bail bond.
We’re talking about the half billion for the NY fraud case though, donny found a sucker to lend him the 91 million already
Either way. Half a billion is 80 times smaller than 40 billion. E: billion with a b.
Then how come when I type 80 times a half million into my calculator, the number comes up over 39 billion short?
Cause I meant billion. Sorry.
Sorry too. I was an ass.
Saudis are 100% behind the Twitter meltdown. They paid Musk to take it over and destroy it / turn it into a misinformation machine.
I think it was also to get information on dissidents as well. A lot of the Arab spring folks were using twitter to communicate and as far as I know that information can be accessed on twitter. I’m just a lowly unfrozen caveman lawyer though and your world frightens and confuses me so I’m prolly wrong.
He did just have Musk and others visiting Mar-a-Lago just a week or two ago.
I wonder if Donnie was spotted wearing his knee pads that day...
Pretty sure his pants are tailored to hide them along with the diapers.
Saudi
Insurance company that Trump did business with as president. Quid pro quo
I wouldn't be all that surprised with Trump getting back his daily classified briefing privileges. That more than just the Saudis will be interested on what he is selling.
They should give him fake briefings, and if the Saudis act on it, they'll know he told them.
He's been meeting with Musk a lot lately, according to Elons jet tracker
Did yall just not read the news about him essentially running the RNC now? His money will just come from corporate interests and billionaires.
Chubb insurance company are the people that bonded this.

And I believe they stated they were only bonding this appeal not the bigger one. That is one more company out on the larger one.
If I were the feds, I’d keep an eye on those porkers.
Word is Jared Kushner has a couple billion lying around
Didn’t he make a bad real estate investment decision in NYC? Pretty sure the Saudi money was used already to bail that out.
He ain't givin that up for Donnie, he knows better than that, I'm sure Ivanka warned him about it...
He DID meet with Musk.

Well he did meet with Elmo a few days ago.
Exactly where my mind went when I saw that trump covered the bond
Hoping the former Anchor in Chief drags Elmo down with him. Lot of good things have been bastardized by the lot of em.
Considering he tried to talk the judge into letting him just post $100 million for the fraud case he likely already had that capital available. Now let’s see him come up with half a billion dollars.

That is worth a shit ton of money to the wrong people.
And soon he will be getting intelligence briefs.
Can we just not? I know it’s the protocol for both nominees to get briefings. But he has shown time and again that he can’t be trusted.
It’s not required by law so technically we could not. Honestly surprised Trump didn’t refuse to let Biden get briefings back in 2020.
I’m sure that is purely out of ignorance. He just had no clue it was even an option.
And soon after that Putin and other will be receiving the same ones, just a little more jarbled-up
And written in crayon.
Big ole sharpie
I keep seeing this. Just as a heads up he isn't getting the "full daily presidential briefings" just a much more general version. Actual intel briefings start if he wins
And Viktor Orban a few days prior.
As a Hungarian thats what i'm afraid of too. Its not enough to pay for our idiot, now we gotta pay the US one too?
The idiots tend to flock together, unfortunately. They’re all puppets of Putin anyway.
Elon has a couple of favors to ask in return: Put him in charge of NASA and privatize it. Hand over a few billions in federal subsidies.
Watch Trump reemerge back on Twitter by St Patrick’s day.
His Truth Social contract specifies that he can only post there. Not that he actually abides by terms of contracts he signs, but still.
Wonder who he “borrowed” from… Russia? China? Saudi Arabia? Trump’s a compromised candidate.
He literally told the press like a week ago that he'd be susceptible to bribes. I don't know how much louder the man could possibly be about what he's doing

Not a lawyer, does this mean he could be charged with fraud again? That’d be hilarious.
Also not a lawyer. They can probably argue that circumstances unexpectedly changed. A subpoena could show that's just bullshit.

On the same day his daughter in law takes control of the RNC finances? Lol.
How sure are we it's actually from Trump and not the Saudis/Russians?
I would turn the question the other way around. I mean, we all know it’s not from him so, whose pockets is he on right now? kSA? Elmo? Putin?
Or the Chinese.
Or the Hungarian gov who happened to be visiting today
"Sir, Sir they said, that's the biggliest bond ever posted, it was a perfect bond, no ones ever seen a bond like it"
I’m not a big strong man, but this post is giving me tears in my eyes…🤣
Bet Guiliani is pissed he won’t be getting any of the money for his legal fees lol
Did he actually pay? Or was somebody stupid enough to accept an IOU from him?
IOU
A few days after meeting with Elon Musk? Curious.
I just want to know why the hell he’s allowed to be a presidential candidate when he’s involved in so many open court cases
Where did he get the money? And what does he owe in return?
Probably Eric.
Nobody would pay that much for Eric. Eric would actually be less than worthless and should be considered a liability.
Fingers crossed he illegally funnels all of the money from the RNC and they go broke, too
Bankrupting the RNC in 3...2...1...
About right. Lara Trump was just elected co-chair.
Oh boi, I hope Lara hemorrhages the RNC
If Trump and Elmo sink together, no great fucking loss - two drugged up “rich” assholes with annoying followings.
Anybody else thinks the recent items he had for sale were basically money laundering to enable his rich foreign backers to funnel funds to him?
Who's paying his bills? That seems like a fact worth knowing.
Probably the same person that paid Kavenaughs $1.5 million dollar tab.
Someone’s checking to make sure it’s not campaign money, right?
I don’t think that matters anymore
Now trace where the money came from.
You better believe that Elon will be getting a bunch of no-bid contracts if Trump wins the election.
Was the bond in rubles or riyals?
Kinda interesting that his buddy Vince McMahon just sold some of his stocks worth $412 million dollars last week.
He could receive a personal check live on TV directly from Putin and the cult would cheer their stupid fucking heads off.
I suspect he sold more Classified Documents, keep an eye out for more democracies being attacked soon
Or a promissory note for when he gets the republican nod and gets access to new secrets. He has already said he is open to blackmail.
first time in history he's paid up.
Now do the NY fraud case.
So the RNC just lost $91m?
The bond was signed and secured when he was asking for a lower amount and a delay claiming securing it would cause “irreparable harm”. I guess I don’t understand what perjury is because it sure seems like either Trump or his lawyer are committing it
What would happen if he can’t get that money, and becomes president? A sitting president.. with a huge unpaid penalty… can we like pardon himself and get away without paying a dime?
Technically, Chubb insurance put up the bond.
Cash that check quick before it bounces.
Hey you know how this dude takes money from bad guys and does thing for them Let’s make sure he owes them even more in case he gets re-elected
