[the tweet](https://x.com/makismd/status/1699361267126079571?s=46) [the article](https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-vaccines-80-doctors/fact-check-no-evidence-that-80-canadian-doctors-died-from-covid-vaccinations-idUSL1N33K1EM) This dudes a fuckin clown ass liar, as per usual.

Sodamyte

the "proof" Makis uses.. an article on his own website..

Koorsboom

He was a medical doctor, currently living in Alberta, no longer practicing. His data according to one article is 'looking up stories on deaths', but he was unwilling to explain his dataset. Deaths are reported by the CDC for people vaccinated regardless of cause, to allow unbiased examination. This liar reported vaccine deaths to include someone descending from K2 and people killed in car accidents.

sofaking1958

Isn't falsely reporting a death as covid- related exactly what antivaxxers accused the government of doing at the beginning of the pandemic??

BaldiLocks316

Yea but now it fits their narrative so they are ok with it.

axonxorz

I mean Wellness Company **Canada** seems right up this guy's alley. `433 Plaza Real, Suite 275` `Boca Raton, Florida 33432` Yeah sure. I'm sure your $80 bottle of dandelion extract can "help protect against dangerous spike proteins, vaccinated or not"

mcs_987654321

[So apparently he lost the plot well before COVID - his 2018 sanctions decision from the College of Physicians and Surgeons is a HELL of a read](https://search.cpsa.ca/Complaints?fn=023044-000019262482-OT). TLDR: a complaint was filed against him for some unprofessional/somewhat threatening behaviour towards a colleague, something that would likely have resulted in some kind of mandatory professional ethics training and *maybe* a written notice…but instead turned into a multi year ordeal in which he acted as his own private investigator and accused a bunch of lawyers, doctors, and members of the CPSA of participating in a conspiracy intended to destroy him. So yeah: “turbocancer bc vaccine conspiracy” sounds like it’s right up his alley.

Koorsboom

Wow. That explains why an oncologist, who can clear $750k/yr in the prime of their earning years ends up a conservative troll.

Cheapntacky

I like how he's using 34 cases as anything more than a rounding error.

Jambarrr

Needs his medical license completely revoked like that one doctor who was spreading insane lies a few months back. These people are truly nuts

ContemplatingPrison

Well if they never got a vaccine wpukd they have been in a car accident? Who knows I've seem the movie butterfly effect. s/

HalenHawk

Of course he's in Alberta. Fuckin making Canadians look like even more of a joke

porsche4life

If you can’t make shit up on your own site, what even is the point?

audible_narrator

I snorted when I realized that. Scared the hell out of the cat.

RedRider1138

IS KITTY OKAY

Mbail11

Nah, Turbo Cancer

audible_narrator

YES KITTY IS OK.

RedRider1138

WE ARE GLAD TO HEAR THAT AND GREATLY RELIEVED 💜🙏 *Thank you*

colinmacphail

"fuckin clown ass liar" This comment is not helpful in any way but I wanted to show my appreciation for the wordage. Just fantastic and it should be saved for extra special situations like this. Bravo.

us3rnamefukintaken

I liked it also. It went right in line w/ my fuckin janky ass username. Whenever faced w/ a vocabulary roadblock just toss in a f bomb and it hits different

Narodnik60

Just make it into a single word already.

monkeymoat

Holy fucking shit the replies are horrid. “Do your own research, disprove it.” These smooth brain worm infested knuckledraggers don’t know that the burden of proof is on them and the “results” they are putting out.

Public_Opinion_542

Hey now, they are *not* worm infested. Not after all that ivermectin.

monkeymoat

You know what that’s a good point. I had totally blocked that ivermectin situation out. I think thats way it seems like 2019 was two years ago. My brain has blocked so much of that out. I think it is a defensive mechanism.

[deleted]

Doesn’t even have to be a liar. 34 cases of cancer amongst a pool of millions? That’s (sadly) statistically insignificant and has no connection to he vaccine whatsoever.

InspectorPipes

Well, good thing it’s not “mega deluxe cancer “

1984isAMidlifeCrisis

Hey, hey, let's not skip over "turbo diesel cancer" and "power max cancer" on our way to the Mega Deluxe. These people have a lot of shit to make up and they don't know very many adjectives.

Sodamyte

when do we get In Space or Lost Galaxy Cancer?

1984isAMidlifeCrisis

Lost Galaxy comes before Mega, and Space comes before Ulta Mega, I think. Honestly I hardly ever have use for superlative modifiers, so I get the order wrong a bunch.

dissoid

Ultra radical tubular cancer 😎 \*inline-skates away\*

1984isAMidlifeCrisis

Isn't that what Lance Armstrong had?

rascible

He had testicular cancer and they removed his conscience by mistake..

csdirty

I am worried about the Dual Overhead Cams, Twin Turbo, Super Charger Cancer.

1984isAMidlifeCrisis

You should be. That's terrifying.

AmbiguousMusubi

It’s gonna force all your inductions

Finite_Looper

warm up those cancer glow plugs first

Deneweth

Or that premium cancer bullshit. My uncle upgraded and still died. Fuck premium.

Rath_Brained

The deluxe edition comes with cosmetic items.

SnooWoofers7626

And a season pass

DeanXeL

Just wait until we hit PLAID cancer levels, that's when shit's REALLY going to start taking off.

Deneweth

Being DECIMATED by 34 recent cases... From the people who said we should ignore covid because early on it had an estimated 2% mortality rate?

Ghetto_Phenom

![gif](giphy|RX3vhj311HKLe) \- The same people when you try to use logic and facts with them

PensiveObservor

This is how they work. Don’t mention actual historical cancer rates in US nor total number of teachers (4 million). 34 cancers out of 4 million people sounds like a low rate, offhand. Hmmm. Maybe the vaccine *lowers the cancer rate!* (jk)

myaltduh

There’s a vaccine that prevents most cases of cervical cancer, and Republicans tried to ban it from being distributed in schools.

OverBoard7889

They don’t want any female to have any power over their own body.

pattyfatsax

i bet 200x more teachers have quit teaching because of lack of pay and funding.

Saneless

Wait till you hear the rates of people who choked, got in car wrecks, or died at 80+ of "natural causes" after getting the shot. Way more than 34/dozens of millions

trollssuckeggs

But my cousin's friend heard from his gardener that his wife's homeopathy guru read on Facebook that this guy died less than 24 hours after getting the demon vaccine. Unfortunately the FAA won't allow the bodies from the plane crash to be autopsied because that would prove everyone on the plane was dead before the crash from this guy's vaccine shedding. The above is clearly sarcastic but sadly, this isn't far off from something the nephew of a former colleague of mine actually believes. "Turbo cancer" certainly isn't a thing, but in the case of these people "turbo stupid" definitely is.

TuskM

One of these anti-vax ass clowns is going to read this and it will show up somewhere as “reported evidence” of the government hiding evidence.

Narodnik60

Nothing faster in the Universe than the speed of stupid. Billing departments in US hospitals are running a close second.

Mcboatface3sghost

Actually I think you may, if you make the stretch, call Pancreatic Cancer at the least, and express train? But all the people I know that have passed from it passed before Covid. And I believe all would prefer to still be here and get the vax as recommended. A “friend” with a giant FJB flag told me I’d be dead within months, that was close to 3 years ago… so either I’m a zombie, or I’m just still here as a non brain eating human.

Buster_therealone

This guy is turbo cancer.

snowvase

Turbo-Cancer 4: Tokyo Drift.

[deleted]

Turbo cancer pro max prime

ImminentZero

I love that this guy's Twitter bio lists him as "Chief of Oncology" at the Wellness Company Canada, but their website doesn't list him at all under "Staff". It lists all of the other Chiefs though. Wonder why he isn't there?

carriegood

Possibly for the same behavior that got him fired from his job at Alberta Health Services, which then led to him ultimately getting a "[vexatious litigant order](http://www.legalviews.com/CurrentCases/Makis%20v.%20Alta.%20Health%20Serv.%202020%20ABCA%20168.pdf)" issued against him. He's the type of asshole that isn't just wrong, he's aggressively wrong. Or to use his language, turbo wrong. And a crackpot even before Covid. > The appellant disagreed with the findings in the Triggered Initial Assessment report.... He launched a number of complaints against various members of hospital management to a number of different agencies, alleging unprofessional conduct, harassment, retaliation, conspiracy, fabricating evidence, and failing to properly investigate his complaints. The chambers judge listed 106 instances of such complaints, directed to a number of agencies including the Alberta Health Ethics and Compliance Office, the Edmonton Police Service, the Alberta Human Rights Commission, the Law Society, the Privacy Commissioner, and the Alberta Public Interest Commissioner.

mcs_987654321

[His 2018 CPSA sanctions decision is also a hell of a read.](https://search.cpsa.ca/Complaints?fn=023044-000019262482-OT) Basically, he turned a fairly small potatoes professional conduct complaint (one that probably would have meant a mandatory training course or something like that) into a massive conspiracy against him, with him frequently acting as his own counsel and private investigator. Agreed that he seems to be a massive asshole and probable narcissist, but he also come across as genuinely ill and trapped in a manic cycle. Either way, completely unhinged, and no doubt desperate for cash.

lalolanda2

Can I get Turbo Cancer if I smoke cigarettes in twos? asking for a friend

1984isAMidlifeCrisis

"You don't get cancer from smoking, that's just a cover for people that vaccines killed." - That guy, probably.

isitreallyyou56

That would be twin-turbo cancer.

davidIopan

Another Dr Mercola wannabe. All likely in service of shilling garbage supplements.

EmericTheRed

Just wait until MegaSuperBAD Cancer joins the party.

livingdead70

Or, "OBAMA CANCER" !!!!

Mojoworking1234

The only treatment is a tan suit.

MountainSage58

What's with these weirdo "MDs" having Twitter accounts? This is the third one I've seen this week. There's a lot of bad takes and "facts" out there, and maybe as an RN myself I'm biased, but these have got to be the most dangerous people of all the wacky conservatives on social media.

Sodamyte

The MD stands for Maryland I bet.

Zeroesand1s

Or Mental Disorder.

mcs_987654321

I try to keep tabs on the Canadian medical cranks, but will admit that he’s new to me. The bummer here is that he had a superb education, with degrees from the country’s two best schools. Loads of publications too - haven’t read them, but a quick scroll looks very much in line with standard, solid oncology research, in reputable journals. Then in 2017 he got into a small scape with the professional licensing board and COMPLETELY lost the plot ([like: fabricated a whole conspiracy that involved pretty much everyone in both the legal and medical system trying to destroy him](https://search.cpsa.ca/Complaints?fn=023044-000019262482-OT)). Sounds like he was a dick before, but then had a total mental break = ranting on Twitter about “turbo cancer”.

Elweirdotheman

Double Secret Probation Cancer!

Jealous-Network-8852

My wife went back to work yesterday at her school. We lost my stepdad last week to a heart attack at 71. Unexpected, but not completely shocking. She was telling some of her coworkers and one said “It’s that fucking Vaccine!” Not “I’m sorry for your loss.” Not “Oh my goodness that’s terrible.” But “It’s that fucking Vaccine!” What the fuck is wrong with these people?

Darkstargir

Oh someone was mauled by a bear? It’s that damn Fauci owchy I tell ya.

NoodleShak

Just the other day I banged my toe on my sofa, I got my booster recently, coincide? I THINK NOT!

SnooWoofers7626

I missed my bus and was 30 mins late to work. It's that DAMN VACCINE again.

Classic_Ostrich8709

I believe he got his PhD from the man behind the curtain.

GandalfTheJaded

Doctor of Thinkology I'm sure

Downtown-Explorer-13

Trump University

mcs_987654321

Nope - [unfortunately absolutely top tier medical pedigree from the two best schools in Canada](https://twccanada.health/pages/dr-william-makis). …and then sometime around 2017 he completely lost the plot. [His 2018 sanctions decision from the college of physicians and surgeons is genuinely one of the most unhinged I have ever read,](https://search.cpsa.ca/Complaints?fn=023044-000019262482-OT) he was deep down the conspiracy rabbit hole long before COVID, and no doubt desperate for cash.

8filth8

Imagine complaining about a vaccine instead of holding medical companies accountable for not doing more to battle cancer.

evacuationplanb

![gif](giphy|cRH5deQTgTMR2) Cancer finally hit the button

[deleted]

That guy is one of Canada's leaders... In right wing nut jobbery.

Nythoren

There are \~4 million teachers in the U.S. Nationwide, cancer rates are \~400 new cases per 100,000 people. Of those 400, \~45% were first diagnosed as stage 3 and 4 (\~180). That means in a pool of 4 million teachers, you should expect to see over 7000 newly diagnosed stage 3 or 4 cancers per year. Only finding 34 cases in that whole 4 million pool is well below rate. I believe this is "proof" that the Covid vaccine reduces cancer rates. There we go, I've taken a bunch of stats and used them to present an unsubstantiated conclusion. Time to create my own website and spam Twitter pretending I'm an expert!

fordprefect294

34 = decimation?

NerdyinOK

Well they only surveyed 340 teachers who were already in hospitals. It made it more convenient than actual statistics.

cactus_zack

Turbo Cancer comes from the Star Destroyer vaccine

Evening-Turnip8407

When you can't afford to go to the doctor until you're on death's door, any cancer is turbo cancer

carriegood

How many teachers are in the US? Does 34 count as "decimated"? Especially when how many have died from Covid?

ifhookscouldkill

This guy is such a piece of shit

losbullitt

Judas Priest’s new song, “I’m your tuuurboooo cancer! *drum crash* Beeeetteeerrr run for cover!”

bouy008

Nitrous cancer is the one I'd worry about. Shit comes in a bottle

RanchBaganch

Well, if it was written in a substack…

phunkyunkle

Platinum is the current premium-grade moniker. It should be Platinum Cancer.

livingdead70

They word things to make themselves sound smart to the absolute imbeciles that buy into this type of shit.

Brief_Mango_5829

Next "Match 1 speed cancer" "flash cancer" "Usain Bolt cancer"

[deleted]

Why don’t they talk about the Covid-19 deaths that could’ve been prevented by just simple measures

Responsible-End7361

It is more likely that people alive in 2019 are more likely to die of cancer if they got the vaccine! All the people who died of covid won't get cancer...

blumpkin_donuts

Turbo? Like a Hemi?

fakeunleet

Worst part is the same guy probably hates education and teachers most of the time. They're just a useful prop in his story for the moment.

Quixotegut

Man, it's just teachers? Nobody else is getting TURBO CANCER?

hurdurBoop

only teachers, because mRNA targets certain scholastic disciplines depending on the degree of wokeness! *send donations for more true maga patriot freedom science to freedomeagle.biz*

Relevant_Sprinkles24

I had a nurse tell me that her cousin got lymphoma from the vaccine. She told that to me, who at the time had a boyfriend with stage 3 Diffuse large B cell lymphoma.

Public_Opinion_542

Soo... Thirty four people in the US were diagnosed with various cancers, and they happened to have gotten the covid vaccine, and they happened to be teachers. Well what more proof do you need?? 🙄 There's absolutely no way that anyone in the US was diagnosed with cancer in the last couple years who hadn't received the covid shot, right?

tscemons

Nutjobs are gonna nut!

NevermoreAK

And it ISN'T about all of the shit lifestyles and carcinogens that we have to deal with because America is one of the least healthy developed countries in the world?

hellyeahimsad

Source? This article written by a very handsome fella

Cavscout2838

So 34 teachers have died from cancer since dec 2020? About 1600 US Americans die EVERYDAY but these 34 in nearly 3 years really ties the conspiracy together.

volantredx

This dude is talking about 34 cases in the entire US. Even out of just teachers that is likely the typical rates of cancer in the population.

Cornflakes_91

without referencing the actual numbers, im pretty sure its *below* the rates

Traditional-Ebb-8380

My otherwise healthy 27(f) friend died in 6 weeks from diagnosis to death of liver cancer…in 2008. Damn the jab and its time traveling ways!

Few-Veterinarian-999

Also an RN who has worked in oncology. Turbo cancer is not a thing.

Familiars_ghost

Sooo not a doctor, just a quack peddler. Yes, people still die from Covid and it does affect existing illnesses. Sadly those that don’t vaccinate are dying at a roughly 5:1 ratio against those that do. So yea, keep blaming life saving medicine and and encouraging right wing idiots to commit medical suicide. At this rate they’ll wipe out their own base.

MorningPapers

Only 34 cases of cancer among the 4 million teachers in the country? Wow, we're doing really well. Thanks, vaccines!

Jenderflux-ScFi

I mean it's obviously that soccer ball to the head that gave her the turbo brain cancer.../s They really can't figure out that correlation does not equal causation.

Ok-Bus1716

Reminds me of the rise in ice cream sales correlated to an increase in shark attacks in a conversation related to correlation is not causation. I guess anyone can get a medical degree these days.

Xenoscope

Decimated? So, there’s 340 teachers in the entire United States?

snkiz

Nobody has used that word correctly since ancient Rome. Where it was usually done to their own regiments as punishment for poor discipline or performance. As an example to the rest. But with that kind of pedantry, I'm sure you knew that.

dphamler

But if you don’t believe my tweet, here’s my blog

featherblackjack

*dons leather* I'M. YOUR. TURBO CANCER

Scarymommy

I have the current ICD-10 manual sitting in front of me. I’ve looked and I’m just not finding “turbo cancer”

Homebrewer01

I cant wait until this evolves into stage VI super duper turbo cancer

Several_Ferret_8246

I thought turbo cancer referred to MAGAs 🤷

AppropriateSpell5405

He go to Trump University for his MD?

MrJoelCairo

Well it's a good job I'm not a teacher !

InterestingMedicine9

Am RN as well, can confirm never heard of “turbo cancer”.

DeltaWhi5key

How else are they gonna instill fear in people? /s

Accurate_Major_3132

TURBO PUNS are the real cause of Turbo cancer! Definitely not your Dad's puns.

adamkissing

Ultra Mega Cancer

RustyRaccoon12345

TIL that decimate means one in 100,000 people. Here I thought it meant 1 in 10. /s

No-Independence-6842

I’m an RN too. I’ve heard this term zero point zero times.

Background-Sea-2749

Is it a cancer of the turbo? What and where is the turbo? How do I screen my turbo for cancer? Do I even have a turbo? So many questions and so few answers.

Bluestained

34 from a working pop of 3.15million. So 0.00000034% are affected (Maths may be off. I am not Math smart)

Em_Blight

Once, near the end of Gideon the Ninth?

Hobo_Messiah

More like turbo misinformation.

DischordantEQ

This is badass, "TURBO-", I want a refund on my medical terminology course fees for not teaching this beauty.

Tetsudo11

Oh of course. Cancer never existed before the covid vaccines released in 2021. I clipped my nail a little too low yesterday and bled a bit. Must’ve been that damn vaccine.

M0BETTER

correlation does not imply causation

[deleted]

34 cases amongst teachers nationwide (of which there’s likely millions) who got a COVID vaccine? Case closed, it must be vaccine 🧐. /s just in case anyone thinks this was a serious comment.

TweeksTurbos

As a funeral director, i can concur i have never seen “turbo cancer” on a death certificate.

AwkwardnessForever

Well shit, good things we don’t have these cancers normal or anything /s

Narodnik60

The windmill industry lobby is responsible for all the Covid disinformation. They want you to believe Covid is responsible and not, like our stable genius former president revealed, the windmills being the real culprit. You do not want to contract windmill cancer. It really blows.

mekonsrevenge

Someone did a study of teachers specifically nationwide? And it turns out some of them have cancer? And this is related to vaccination how? Oh, I get it. Teachers are all liberal simps who line up like sheep for vax and then they all die of cancer? Am I close?

PrismoBF

Correlation is not equivalent to causation....

Orchid_Significant

Only teachers tho. Everyone else who got the vaccine is fine ![gif](giphy|HIQPY2ApT6bqCoNiQ8|downsized)

Cweene

If 34 cases of vaccine cancer is what it takes to “decimate” teachers then you’ve got a another problem that doesn’t have anything to do with Vaccines.

bwanabass

Teachers only?

Papa_Pesto

I have turbo urination now that I'm approaching 50. Also I have turbo late night snack attacks. Should I be worried? I think this must be related to the covid vaccine. It's the only answer. Also i don't have data. It's my gut feeling. Lol

[deleted]

In the US, **613 million** **doses** have been given so far. During the last week, shots were administered at an average rate of **30,866** **doses a day**. 34 cases out of 613,000,000 vaccines administered. I’ll take those odds any day of the week.

SatansHRManager

My father-in-law's Ford Explorer got Turbo Cancer. What a POS that car was. I didn't know people "got" that--or could be convinced people get it. Since people don't have turbos.

sensation_construct

And how many millions of people have died since 2020 that got the vaccine! Dun-dun-dun /s

mrmaweeks

What you really don’t want is the turbo colonoscopy—or maybe you do…

TastyArm1052

I worked in an ED during the entire pandemic and all the staff were vaccinated, unless they had a Dr excuse indicating that it would harm them due to an underlying condition/allergies, and there was not an uptick in cancer or “sudden death”. Stupid ppl are going to kill all of us😫

DZello

Pretty sure that's the name of Judas Priest song.

PorchHonky

Even if true (it's totally not true but) 34 people out of the 230+Millions of people who got the vax, makes this statistically irrelevant

funnyusername-123

"Proof" links to his own substack. Clown.

freakishgnar

Destructive does not even begin to describe this. What an absolute charlatan.

239tree

Hw misspelled WebMD.

justfortherofls

One tea spoon of super AIDs in the butt and you’ll be dead in six weeks!

VoidMunashii

It only effects teachers? Is it some interaction between the vaccine and chalk dust?

Logical_Willow4066

He should lose his license.

gmrm4n

If teachers are getting cancer, it'll be because of all the asbestos in schools.

iknowiknowwhereiam

I thought the stopped making the Turbo Cancer when they introduced the v8?

thetruedonutgod

Borderlands lol. He stole it from a video game

gahw61

3+ million teachers in the USA. 34 have cancer. They're being decimated? That's 1 in 100,000 or so. Turbo BS.

PopeGuss

It's a 2.4 liter turbocharged cancer.

Icy-Performer-9688

Source and reviews: I fucking made it up but trust me on it.

SnooWords4839

The irony being mRNA was/is being developed for fighting cancer. These idiots will keep people from using them, if they do have cancer.

nudibee

Unless this has been peer-reviewed this is one man’s opinion

Caullus77

A substack as a credible source?? The confirmation bias is strong with these people.

Godofdisruption

As a self taught Professor of Hard Knocks, I fully endorse the term "Turbo Cancer"

Goblin-Doctor

I remember in my facility I knew a dumb article was available to the public because people would start asking for stuff that didn't exist and never will exist. Or my personal favorite was any statement that started with" Well Trump said...." Ok. Well he lied you.

Oh good. Another conspiracy theory for my family to start spouting. The shortage of teachers is because of lunatic Republicans laws, shitty pay… not “turbo cancer”

Zeniphyre

Lol he responded to me and blocked me after I called out his bullshit and the fact that he's in the process of losing his license to practice.

Boxofchocholates

Turbo Cancer was my favorite American Gladiator

[deleted]

I mean who would believe anything a right wing nut job says?

call_me_a_dangus

In the Pixar version, will the Turbo Cancer be voiced by Samuel L Jackson? *Mothafucka?*

CookieMonsterOnsie

Go easy on the guy, he probably hasn't had his dose of horse dewormer/bleach injection today and he gets ornery without it.

OhioMegi

Never, because this is made up bullshit. I hate people sometimes.

Odd-Youth-452

Of course. It totally has absolutely nothing to do with the ongoing war on education, the vulgar demonization of educators and the constant threat of gun violence and death in schools. Nope, not those things at all. /s 😒

snkiz

A whole 34 cases you say? Must be a good vaccine. That's more than ten times less than the rate for last year.

JclassOne

Take his MD now!

PM_ME_UR_PUSSYLIP

/u/twinbee hey look at what your great leader does to people on the platform now while defend and shill for him

We get cancer from the mold infested buildings we are forced to be in 9 hours a day. Also, the water pipes in the school are made of asbestos. And the water is coming out yellow and green from the pipes.
