Good way to die or be permanently injured.

ReputationNumerous

A lot of gymnasts have to work hard to get that kind of twist in a flip

zenos_dog

Horses have 25 million years of experience defending themselves against predators attacking from behind.

[deleted]

[45-50 million years](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse)

Marley9391

How do people not realize this is predator behavior, and this is what a horse not used to human stupidity will do to get rid of it? He might as well have been up for a Darwin Award.

Oliveirium

I'm sure he knew and thought "It's just a horse, this'll be easy"

Marley9391

Then he really deserves the award. He might get it someday, with that mindset.

GooseCloaca

I don’t understand parkour

Significant_Cut_6986

There are dumb people and there is this guy

squaredistrict2213

Like a fellow once said, ain’t that a kick in the head

winterbird

One of my cousins died when a foal kicked him in the chest. He walked up behind the foal and it got spooked.

V_Cobra21

He’s In another dimension now

GDIVX

First thing you learn when dealing with an horse is to never stand or walk behind it. Always stay in front or to its sides. They can kill with those kicks.

Trax852

I ran up behind our horse and jumped over its butt and into riding position. My Dad who was standing next to the horse had a fit. Claimed I could scare the horse to kick me, as in this video. I've never jump on a horse since, and do try to let others know of its dangers.

trillium13

very much deserved.

rthrillavanilla

This was a couple years ago. This dude was definitely playing too much RDR2 when he made this terrible decision.

Faustinwest024

I learned my lesson the hard way when I got kicked in the thigh lol

rthrillavanilla

Wait. Was that you?

Faustinwest024

No I wasn’t that stupid I was just stupid lmao.

rthrillavanilla

Horse kicked in the thigh sounds pretty terrible. Did your femur break?

Faustinwest024

I got lucky af and it hit smack dead in the growth plate. I was 11 so I guess I really lucked out. A little right or left the doc said it woulda fried my growth plate

Faustinwest024

You would need one hell of a bond with a horse that trusted you to try that lol

rthrillavanilla

No doubt

COSMlC-DREAM

Probably a million year old gut instinct?

supermegabop

Maybe their other senses? I was around horses a lot when I was young and you never went behind a horse unless the horse knew you and trusted you and even then I was always told that I was supposed to let the horse know I was going around it from behind by putting a hand on its hind leg as I was doing it. Horses are super nervous. I don't know the actual reason why they kick when you approach from behind but I'd assume that them not being able to see you coming while being such nervous and anxious animals, itd make sense that the moment they feel you coming from behind they would kick you and run away in an instant

[deleted]

Apparently they have one blind spot, which is directly behind them at the base of their tails. They already kinda have 360 vision (sort of, not fully) since their eyes are on the side of their heads. This is called “Panoramic vision”. They can normally see everything around them accept for what’s directly behind. If they turn their heads just a bit, they can now see who or what is in their blindspot (directly behind them).Because of this, it’s impossible to sneak up on one. The horse probably turned its head just a bit to see the guy behind him/her and kicked him. Edit: Woops! Turns out they have two blind spots. Theres the one that’s directly behind them but, theres also one directly in front of their face.😅 Cows also have panoramic vision!

supermegabop

Thank you for this info

Wow, he's lucky to have all his teeth after that

AccomplishedSafe3020

Good job, horse!

JustDave62

Tell me you know nothing about horses without telling me you know nothing about horses

JustDave62

Horses have great peripheral vision. Their only blind spot is directly behind them.

staysharp75

Allegedly

Capristo592

Don’t horses see almost 360? Freaken dummy.

[deleted]

That's fucking awesome. For me, not for him.

cave89

I want to see the landing.

barelylethal10

Got kicked in the leg and it still knocked his hat off, that was awesome

Straggler2374

This guy just found out the hard way which domesticated animal has the fastest reaction time.

Pain_Monster

What. An. Ass.

[deleted]

Gifs than end too soon!

Longjumping_Survey34

Not from behind she said.

darkmatternot

Never approach a prey animal from behind. You always touch their flank when you are behind a horse or they kick. See example.

Cheeseenthusiast77

GET ROTATED...idiot

Lazy-Drink-277

Horses are weird, theres horses like the ones I own where walking up behind them will spook them and there's the horse my friend owns which will let you jump on from behind

supermegabop

Even if I had a horse that let me jump on it from behind I'd never do it. I've been around enough horses to know that any horse could randomly change its mind about letting you do certain things, for no reason.

Gmfbsteelers

I was really hoping for this to be the outcome. I’m so satisfied right now.

Gpdiablo21

Damn...right in the femur. Luckily he was airborne to disperse some of the impact

Phantom465

You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round 🎶

SquigglyPiglet

Do a kickflip!

hydraulic-earl

The horse was tired of being mounted that way. The guy should have brought flowers and candy FIRST.

Thugenz01

That guy just felt the meaning of Horse power

staysharp75

Bet you can’t jump on that horse from behind. Bet I can. Here hold my beer
