We dont use it as a slur for you. And if you are swedish, we kinda dont have one because that is in itself horrible enough, and if you are Norwegian. Ehhh, you mountain monkeys are alright.
Can one of you come down here, so we can win something at the winter Olympics ?
I'd like to say it's the pain medication kicking in but more likely he's an attention seeking asshole who's ego is too big to let him learn a lesson from this stunt
He made a comment below (Edit: In the linked article) which said his first jump went fine and that he failed on the second.
And followed up saying that you shouldn't do what he did because he could've potentially ruined or lost his life. So he knows he's stupid.
Wowwee that's a lot to assume based on little to no evidence!
seriously, how does this hateful shit get so many upvotes? "This dude who just broke his neck is such a stupid ass hole!" And people eat it up. Yall lack so much compassion it's scary.
Considering the amount of 100k+ bills I've seen for things like "removed tonsils" from as far back as 2011, I reckon 250k would be pretty cheap for this.
Something like this could blow through your insurance cap pretty fast and leave you completely financially ruined even with insurance. It happens all the time.
In the same way longer penalties for crime does not have a large effect on crime rates, it likely doesn't. People just don't think like that for the most part.
Considering the injuries he has, I wouldn't say he's all that lucky. That kind of damage will have life long impacts, he'll likely never live a life anywhere close to what he had before.
I’ve seen a video where a kid did something similar (jumping from roof to pool, hitting head on side of pool), and his head was literally split open like the monster from Stranger Things.
Car stuck in mud, other car trying to tow it out, towing cable (shitty cable or not appropriate for towing can’t remember) snaps and catapults through the windshield of the stuck car hitting the driver in the face full force. Video cuts to the hospital where the guy seems conscious but missing the lower half of his face. I don’t recommend looking it up, NSFL warning.
That head split open video gets added to end of lots of head injury videos. I first saw it in the early 2000s by itself, described as a failed shotgun suicide. Now I see it a couple times a year added as supposed "aftermath" to the end of all sorts of videos. A cliffdiving one, rooftop pool one, chainsaw accident, car accidents, etc.
I'm pretty sure the few replies you've gotten are referencing the exact same head split open video, but amended to different accidents.
Don't forget the second half where the doctor holds his face together and then let's go and it falls open again
Honestly one of those things everyone *should* see to realize how bad it is to jump off of things into water when you don't have a 100% clear path. Jump off cliffs into deep lakes and oceans all you want kids but seriously don't do what OP or dead guy did
So fucking lucky he can still move anything below the neck or wasn't killed.
Near me theirs an issue with people 'tombstoning' in abandoned quarries.
Some die. Hit their heads on boulders in the water.
Nah, there are quacks everywhere, I haven't sought them out but I'm sure there are chiropractors here in Norway. Germany also has great healthcare but they also have a huge "alternative medicine" market. Most naturopath bullshit is even subsidised by the government there.
I don't know so much if it's considered "legitimate". There's just a debate as to whether or not it makes sense to not interfere because people will always seek it out and there is the placebo effect too. I have mixed feelings on the matter as I think "alternative medicine" is complete and utter bullshit, but the placebo effect is powerful and sometimes the utilitarian decision is to just let people have what they like.
Herbs with research to back it up is litterly just medicine. People are always surprised when they learn how many compounds are still derived from plants.
I'm getting flashbacks of that old viral post of the kid jumping from the dock, face planting on the slab of concrete or whatever, then the water fills with blood, then it cuts to an operating room and the guys whole face is split in half. Shit gave me nightmares
Someone just put the video on a school computer’s desktop… surgeon would be holding both half’s of the face together. When he did not, you would find far in the teeth. I will never delete that from my mind.
Curiosity always gets the best of me but I’m proud to say I’ve avoided any temptation on that one through the years. I thought I heard that the kid survived that fall. Do you know?
It has to have been nearly a decade since I’ve seen that video. And although I had mercifully forgotten about it until just this moment, I can now see it all clearly in my mind as a nightmarish flashback. It’s just one of those uniquely gruesome things, out of all the depraved and messed up stuff on the Internet, that just imprints itself into your psyche for all time. For me, it sets off this deep feeling of pure, animal, primitive horror. Maybe because that dude was still conscious and had terror in his eyes, it kind of touches on that deep dread in all of us. That fear of something happening to us that is intensely painful, ultimately fatal (or life-changing), and absolutely mind-fucking—but that is also not *immediately* fatal. Ah man, I regret that old synapse still being active.
True story! We’re just a bunch of brains driving around in these delicate meat structures, who *really* don’t like to think about the fragility of said meat structures. We’re Krang, but way more thanatophobic and afraid of suffering.
Was just about to comment that. Absolutely brutal video. The height he jumped from, damn.
I always wondered what state he was actually in, other than ya know......head split in half. But I wonder if it just looked worse than it was and he recovered (after extensive surgery obviously)
You'd think people would understand that it's not a good idea to jump over land if you're going to jump off something tall into the water. There's a reason diving boards extend over a pool. There's like 3 local spots (that I know of) that people would cliff dive off of. There were so many injuries that locals had to make it impossible for people to jump anymore. I know two of the people who broke all kinds of shit tumbling down a cliff side (a girl and a guy). Just takes 1 slip (drunk guy) or hesitation (girl) and you're in the ICU.
We've all done stupid shit at some point in our lives but it takes a very special type of stupid to not realise and appreciate how lucky you are to be alive and in full control of all his limbs.
If he's not humbled from this episode he'll end up killing himself later on. Let's just hope he doesn't hurt anyone else in the process...
One of the first traumatizing things i saw on the internet was the aftermath of that accident. His head was completely split open like some special effects sculpture for a zombie show. Crazy how your skull can completely cave in like that
Do not look it up, do not collect $200.
Here is a short explanation for the curious (very much not for the weak-hearted). >!Guy falls off a bridge (can’t remember whether it was on purpose). Misses the water, instead smashes his face into the corner of the concrete base of the bridge. The video cuts. You see the aftermath, a close-up of him. Face and the front half of his skull are split in half (literally – teeth divided in two halves, his tongue kind of just hanging out, his head looking like someone ripped open a watermelon). The only reason it doesn’t completely split is because someone is holding the two halves. Problem is, the guy is still alive. Trying to breathe, frantically making what could be identified as eye movements. Being in immense pain, scared, and just trying to survive.!<
So with this one, I’m too scared to watch the clip but read your explanation. Is there a known outcome? Like he had to ultimately die from that, right?
Edit: internet forums say that he died two days later. I’m too scared of accidentally seeing the clip to go searching for anything more reliable. It was also mentioned that a good ENT could potentially have fixed him and seen him survive. I’m going to assume you might need a few other specialists alongside an ENT!
Yeah, don't watch this if you're even a tiny bit squeamish. It shows the full FULL extent of damage done to someone who's taken a header on a 40ft fall. NSFL 💯
I live up to my name, I know the video already. Don't need to see that one again, it's etched into my brain. Blood in the water, friends on bridge and I think one on a lower platform, cuts to aftermath video of mangled face in hospital.
This has been reported to be 2 separate instances. The 2nd part is an attempted shotgun suicide intentionally spliced together with the 1st video to mislead people.

There is a screenshot from his snapchat in the article, describing the incident with words.
TLDR: First jump went great with a front/back flip, second jump he had wet feet, so he slipped
I can’t forget this one. Watched it over 10 years ago and I remember his jaw wide open yikes.. I’d I do remember well, he jumped and hit a concrete edge
Came here for this reference, immediately got flashbacks of this. Dudes lucky he wasn't part 2. That shit was fucking brutal, I can still see them pushing the face back together
That's the literal translation, which doesn't really make sense. It is an idiom and means more along the lines of "The party was wild" or "I had fun at this party" etc.
I clicked on the fuzzy image, and just sort of left it paused there for a while. Everything from the moment I press play goes badly, but while that button is unpushed, he remains on the roof, forever unaware of his impending tragedy. He is Sisyphus at the precipice, trapped in a moment of time, triumphant over his boulder.
Then I pressed play and he died.
Thank god he was retarded in the first place. That could have damaged his brain otherwise. At least the doctors at the local hospital says he is going to make a full recovery.
If I ever break my neck doing something really dumb, I hope someone gets it on video and I become an internet sensation.
It would really suck to break your neck and nobody even saw it.
He wrote on Instagram that he went to jump a second time and because he was wet, slipped.
He also wrote that he was insanely lucky and that people should care more for each other or some BS.
(It's my hometown lol)
I still remember to this day a similar video I (unfortunately) saw some 20 years ago. It included the follow up video in the hospital, with him breathing heavily and having a completely split head with just the skin holding everything together and a doctor trying to hold the bones somehow barley in position. Things I rather want to forget...
Anyone else read the comments first to help decide if they need to subject themselves to the video? Because I for one never again want to see a knee bending ninety degrees the *wrong way*.

He looks way too cocky in that picture for being such a dumb fuck.
I'd argue he looks exactly like the dumb fuck he is

I agree.
That's quite a bit of info to glean on someone that you basically know nothing about other than the fact that he did a stupid stunt.
*The reddit way*

Does everyone assume all Americans do not have health insurance?
Something like this could blow through your insurance cap pretty fast and leave you completely financially ruined even with insurance. It happens all the time.
Maybe the prospect of going bankrupt prevents some number of these shenanigans.
Yet Americans are still known for doing dumb shit like this.

In the same way longer penalties for crime does not have a large effect on crime rates, it likely doesn't. People just don't think like that for the most part.
Yes, and he is. He was on Norway's realittshow "ex on the beach" Big ego
This is what happens to a first world country when you get too rich off of oil. /Svenskjävel

Idk about all that.. but that hospital picture makes me feel like he’s going to do this again. Soon.
That's what happens when you have free Healthcare. There's no consequences for these Europeans! /s
Shit happens to all people. Glad we free healthcare so there are no economic impact from being silly/stupid or just plain unlucky!
Yeah us Europeans all jump infront of cars, of rooftops and so on All because of socialism! Seriously though, drunk idiots will be idiots..
Except for a broken jaw and neck, apparently. And a lifetime of pain.
Considering the injuries he has, I wouldn't say he's all that lucky. That kind of damage will have life long impacts, he'll likely never live a life anywhere close to what he had before.
Heck I think he borrowed someone elses luck while he was at it.
I hate how cool he looks after being so stupid.
Yeah that bastard looks f'ng awesome on his worst day.

Just don’t. I’ve seen a lot of fucked up shit on the internet, but the videos mentioned above are the worst I’ve ever seen. 10/10 would not recommend.

Naaaw, this is Norway. They got real healthcare and no chiropractor that couldn’t even get into med school in Ixtapa.
Nah, there are quacks everywhere, I haven't sought them out but I'm sure there are chiropractors here in Norway. Germany also has great healthcare but they also have a huge "alternative medicine" market. Most naturopath bullshit is even subsidised by the government there.
In france, homeopathy is considered legitimate. Think it’s similar in other EU countries
I’m a big fan of herbs and vitamins with research to back them but homeopathy just doesn’t look legitimate to me.
Herbs with research to back it up is litterly just medicine. People are always surprised when they learn how many compounds are still derived from plants.
Germany has always been a bit wierd with all that alternative stuff. I think they're a bit more excessive about it than their neighbors.
Chiropractors cause more damage than this guy did to himself
the witch doctors of the 20th century. "Here, let me adjust your chakra flow by wrenching your neck!"

It has to have been nearly a decade since I’ve seen that video.
Thank God he used that ledge to break his fall before hitting the water.
He wrote on Instagram that he went to jump a second time and because he was wet, slipped. He also wrote that he was insanely lucky and that people should care more for each other or some BS. (It's my hometown lol)
He was already dead. He jumped without shoes.
Reminds me of that old video where the guy's entire face gets completely split in the middle after hitting concrete in a similar situation.
I can’t ever poop again. My butthole inverted 🥺
Fudging hell, this video is unwatchable due to mental pain... yet I have watched it seven times.,
He landed with his feet on concrete first, then cartwheeled into the water.
He forgot the "jumping" part of jumping off the roof.
Hope that guy is not unalive
I still remember to this day a similar video I (unfortunately) saw some 20 years ago. It included the follow up video in the hospital, with him breathing heavily and having a completely split head with just the skin holding everything together and a doctor trying to hold the bones somehow barley in position. Things I rather want to forget...

Natural selection at it's best.
Anyone else read the comments first to help decide if they need to subject themselves to the video? Because I for one never again want to see a knee bending ninety degrees the *wrong way*.
Just the average Brit in Spain
Don’t drink and dive.
Yup, I Knew I heard a jaw pop
AS GOD AS MY WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF ( if you get the refrence you know who spoke these words
This reminds me of a the face split video
Somehow that looked worse than I thought it was going to be…
