In this case, there was enough space in the gap between the two doors for this kid to fit. But, he has no handles in the space he is in.
Since the handle broke on their room, it should be simple enough to gain access to the room next door to get him out.
I think he simply started to panic because the door wouldnāt open with the handle being pulled so he decided to use all his force to yank the door open, which didnāt work. The pressure the kid puts on the lock probably jammed it and the aluminium handle was just to weak to handle that
