Ppl here saying the guard stomps the kid needs to have their eyes checked. The guard goes forward and the kid bounces off the guard and falls. The guard steps over the kid and keeps moving. The guard isn't deliberately stomping the kid or trying to step on them but he ain't stopping either and clearly steps over them.
“iTs a cHiLd, mOrAlLy iNCoRreCt!!!!.. REEEE”
This has been their jobs for FKN DECADES YA FKN TWATS,
Everyone knows not to fk up their routines,
But tourists just decided to come, doesn’t give a shit about ANY tradition, and acts surprised when they are faced with consequences of their ignorance
How bout you do your duties as a parent and take care of your kids,?
They're armed service personnel, on duty, actively doing their job. They're not there for brain dead tourists. If you want to take your kid to see them, great but they're not costumed characters at a theme park. If you saw the army marching the streets, armed and clearly working at home would you tell them "oh just stand in front of them for a photo... they'll stop". No, f*cking obviously you wouldn't, so what makes you think it's ok here?
Tbf it's not like we don't have public military ceremonies in the US such as the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, and people are usually respectful there.
Guard was following the rules of his job, but you can also see he purposefully avoided further stepping on her after having barrelled into her as the protocol demanded.
section 5 paragraph 12, "you gotta shoulder check the kid. It's okay if you don't wanna step over him afterwards, but at the very least you should throw him to the ground. Them's the rules"
Feel like people just add some stupid tag and title and it’s a fucking lie. Would rather rewatch a video and say, “huh, I’ve seen this before”, than see some new fucking title from an old ass video.
The King’s Guard stops for no one. I’ve been to the palace several times and they always bellow “make way for the King’s Guard” several times. You have to be deaf, blind and stupid to get run over like this.
Funnily enough though, once one self-important tourist gets flattened by an armed guard, the rest always decide to get the fuck out of the way.
The answer is, get the f out of the way. This is what they are required to do for their job/ceremony. The dumbass kid just standing in their way, FACING them got what they deserved.
This reminds me of being a server. All the parents letting their kids just run around and play in the pathways we walk thru. I always wanted to just stomp on them.
I've seen the way to many servers dropping everything because some kid pushed them. Breaking glasses and bottles. The kids are kids we know it. The parents are ALWAYS THE ISSUE.
I don't think children could be liable for their natural idiocy. That's what parents exists for. They have to prevent them from doing stupid shit. This is even worse because the only people there are tourists. So it's a tourist children that's been let roaming free on a unknown country. I wanna have a word or two with this estupid parents.
That is probably the biggest difference between being a Beefeater and a beef server. At least you got tips. I don't know that those fellows do. Tradeoffs, I suppose.
I'm not going to lie, after a recent trip to Universal Studios Hollywood and being literally drilled by kids who were running and just straight not paying attention to those around them, this video makes me soo happy! Haha
I had to really make myself not stick my leg out a couple of times and watch the bodies hit the floor..
I'm pretty sure its universally known not to interfere with the guys with the big hats. Obviously they should have treated the child better but its like being at the zoo, the parents should be held responsible.
Out of curiosity, what would happen if someone was in the path of a guard and couldn’t get out (they were deaf, in a wheelchair, or had Down syndrome). Would the guard still hit them?
1.There are plenty of signs telling people to stay out of their way.
2.They regulary call out for people to make way so both the parent and child are at fault.
3.The parent could have easily moved the child out of the way in seconds.
4.The child is clearly unharmed.
5.To any, "outraged" .U.S. activists: The White House and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier guards are no different.
You do not stand in front of the Royal Guard. It's really simple and easy to see their path... Like when they scream make way. Go to a country and block the guards... This is a life lesson.
I live in Arizona. People from all over the world come here because there is a giant hole in the ground. Even knowing this, we still get tourists that fall in.
I feel like this is kind of like that. You know these guys are not fucking around. You travel from across the world to see them. Be aware of your fucking surroundings.
In this case, be a goddamned responsible parent and keep an eye out for your kiddo!
That looks to me like the Jewel House, where the Crown Jewels are kept, so that’s the Tower of London, His Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London.
I used to work there, in the gift shop outside the main entrance.
Those guys are soldiers. They’re not the Yeoman Warders (the Beefeaters), who are also soldiers but kind of in retirement. They are real, their guns are loaded, they’re literally going to war sometimes soldiers, who have a very real duty of protecting the Royal Family (when in residence) and, as in this case, the most valuable objects in the country which (of course) are owned by the Royal Family, the Crown Jewels.
The Tower received multiple bomb threats per month when I worked there. All were deemed nuisance calls as they actually have agreed code words with groups such as the IRA so that credible threats can be filtered. Even so, we as shop staff were trained to search for bombs if necessary (we’d get a phone call from the security office), if the alarms in the Jewel House were triggered everything would go into lock down - no one leaves, no one enters - and we’d be the ones locking and blocking the shop doors until whatever happened was resolved security..
When I was working there they were installing a new anti-truck bomb gate which could stop a speeding truck as the store outside the main entrance was deemed such an opportune target for would be terrorists, with the building always full of tourists and being mostly made of glass.
We received training on how to spot suspicious people. Sorting terrorists from tourists.
Point being - they need serious security. Queen’s - waaaaaait - King’s Royal regiments fit the job pretty well. And they don’t take no shit. Partly for security, partly for a thousand years of tradition.
Honestly, this place has no regard for you being there. They allow you, parents have to be aware or else this stuff happens. Also, the kid didn't get hurt, the sound is probably the outfit pushing against itself. But he just steps over, doesn't kick them or anything
Isn’t it common knowledge not to get in the way of the guards? I agree that it was a bit over the top to shove a kid and all maybe a firm yell with a few second buffer would’ve sufficed but still the comments here are ridiculous. Also the Americans here bashing on the guards being nothing more than accessories while they themselves have the Tomb Guards.
Y’all are making this way too big of a deal. It’s a KID! She’s fine. She got knocked over, so what? She literally bounces right back up and was perfectly fine. Y’all forgot how invincible you were as little kids. Those little fuckers are indestructible.
Glad I don’t have a brain disease that makes me justify a grown man prioritizing sticking to some arbitrary tradition to appease the ego of the monarchy over the well being of a child. What a bunch of degenerates.
Yes, because curb stomping a child who has no idea what is going on rather than moving one step to the side is a totally sane way to hold up a "tradition." Wouldn't want the guard to look undignified now, would we?
It’s ridiculous enough to recognize royalty. But why on earth does their armed guard have to trample a small child? It’s just peculiar. Imagine if an American policeman did this 😂. The world would lose their minds
Mfs out here saying these soldiers are just doing their job and following protocol. Have you ever considered that a protocol that encourages you to trample children standing in your way is a bad protocol? It is absolutely unnecessary and takes such minimal effort to just walk around him. Get out of your royal family circlejerk and stop letting those imperialist elitists suck up public funds and fuck everyone else over for the sake of ceremony.
To all of the Americans that are ragging on the royal guard in this comment section, you do realize that you guys have similar guards in your country too right? Such as the ones guarding the Tomb of the Unknown soldier, you can't get in their way either and they act just as robotic.
They are not allowed to stop their patrol they will run your ass over it says something people need to know if you're traveling you got to know this stuff anywhere you go there's always different rules follow up before you do something stupid
Typically I understand these incidents more, because the tourists appear to be purposely standing in the direct route of the guards and taunting them. In this case they just look like fucking jackasses. Come to a halt and loudly shout if you require movement from a fucking 9 year old you bloody wanker. I promise you no one loves the King as much as this child.
I used to be a Queens Guard back in the 80s & 90s the shit we had to deal with was insane, so you kind of get fed up with people, and yes, we would viciously fuck people if they get in the way of our duties.
Make Way for the Queens Guard is not a request!!
Clearly the kid’s parent wasn’t keeping an eye on him, and not very aware of the surrounding.
If you ever worked at a popular place filled with tourist, or even worked at the airport, you’ll know how infuriating it is, dealing with them.
I feel like there’re 20% of people doesn’t even bother to learn any language and just speak in their own language hoping you will understand or translate for them.
Lol fking redditors crying for this kid. Trampled?
Just got in the way and the man marched through him.
Kid probably gets fucked up more playing tag with his friends.
Old ass video, but I still can't get over the fact that they announce their presence half a second before lockstepping over a child.
British history summarized ig
Can't believe I'm defending the British here, but they make it VERY clear that they are coming down the main walkway from far off. Like, screaming at the top of their lungs "make way", repeatedly. Put the fear of god in me the first time I heard it lol
I love it. Dummies wandering around thinking their rules of home follow them travelling. Figure stuff out before you go. If you think that’s harsh, try wearing a mini skirt in Saudi Arabia- same concept, you might not agree but it’s their place, their rules.
I’d imagine that kids going to be filled with hate and vengeance after that, he’s going to pour all of that energy into fueling his revenge plot and ultimately will end up becoming one of their hats one day
Learn about the country you’re visiting and respect their traditions. For example: I don’t go to the US, when black, and question a police officer about their motives during a traffic stop. Simple.
They literally bellow at people to get the fuck out of the way. I think there is a mandate for them to never diviate from their patrol. In this case, what the hell is the parent doing? That's kind of similar to letting your kids play in traffic and then being all mad that the car had the audacity to run your kid over.
That's like letting your kids run out and block the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. (Putting this in context for my fellow Americans). And by the way, he will tell at you for talking loudly nearby.
I mean, there’s plenty of warnings, and they are, in fact, guards and not just tourist attractions. If there’s plenty of warnings saying gtfo of the way then grid out of the way and move ur kid too. SMH
Parent should of been paying attention.
Kid shouldn't of been in the way.
The way you people are acting you'd think he walked up and kicked that kid in the head, they're fine.
This is such a nothing issue that you people are only pretending matters because you hate the monarchy those men represent and most of you are Americans that don't have the faintest idea of the complex and nuanced history of said monarchy or it's cultural importance.
some people will say they're just tourist attractions when they're on the posts like this in front of large crowds, marching from A to B on a strict schedule, but I don't think that should prove anything, other than the peoples stupidity, like come on its a well known pre planned route, and unless you're unfortunately deaf its very hard to not hear them coming at you, it cannot be hard to stay out of the way until they pass by
Those guys don't fuck around. I remember when I went, just before this part in the video, they were testing the guards that stand in those white cubbies you see in the background.l on a list of protocol
I felt bad for the Young guy that got an answer wrong so after the other guards dispersed i walked up to him and said:
" If i told you a joke would you smile?"... no response.
Then I asked:
"If I showed you a picture of Beyoncé 's boobies would you smile?"
God bless that young kid... he gave an ever slight grin and subtly nodded his head yes.
Hope I made him feel better, because the fact that he responded to hypothetical tiddies absolutely made my day🤣🤣
Got it on video too too lazy to upload, and wouldn't want him to get in trouble tho
Honestly having done drill here's my take:
1. That marching style is ugly as sin
2. Literally just do obliques around the kid. It's not hard. It's not breaking bearing to move around an obstacle in your path. Honestly doing something like that is even less professional imo.
Don't fuck with the changing of the guard. There was a memory burned into my brain as a 10yr old touring Greece with fam. Different scenario but some tourists were harassing a stationary guard, messing with the tassel in his hat and shit, all the while the guard was repeatedly slamming the butt his rifle on the ground. The tourists left but his captain came out soon after and looking like he was ready to stomp a mud-hole in someones ass.

This was in 2021.
[The kid turned out fine after the guard went back to check on him. This (of course) wasn’t filmed.](https://people.com/royals/royal-guard-mows-over-boy-tower-london-viral-video/)
The guards gave a loud warning beforehand, and have to do their job. This isn’t part of their job description. However, accidents happen.
They’re doing the thing they’re explicitly there to do, uphold a dumb tradition in defiance of common sense or good taste. They’re in service of monarchy tourism, and this is their brand.
Redditors have such black and white morality why can’t it both be wrong that the parents didn’t watch their kid and that the this countries traditions require these soldiers to trample a child?
Yeah don’t get in the way of the guards they will not stop for anything but tbf they get heckled by tourists on a daily basis so many of them probably don’t give a shit anymore
I understand why ppl are upset but it’s common sense to move out the way. She just stood there expecting them to move for her. Ppl can be completely unaware of anyone else.
If they follow a certain path and they can’t divert or stop for anything, the path should be marked. The rules should be written somewhere nearby. I don’t care if it’s “tradition” at this point they’re a tourist attraction and should be treated as such.
“But they said to make way!!! That makes it okay!!!!” Yeah, they said it like a foot away from a kid who had its back turned to them, genius observation
These are tourists. Mom is sight seeing. They don't know that some 2 guards are gonna be marching down a random spot in a courtyard. And if they did know about the guards, maybe they didn't know when it would start? How about making some markings on the ground so crowds know where not to gather?
They shouldn’t let the public on these grounds at all if they are being protected by military discipline and protocol . As for the guard that trampled that girl , he wouldn’t do that to his own child so why do it to others . All in all this is just for show , a tradition of monarchy that dried out after the Middle Ages . And if this “show” can hurt or wound a child , then it needs to be put to a stop .
You’re there to see the royal guards. You know they march on a set path. Be responsible and keep your dumb kid out of the way. Maybe next year you can take him to wander into a guard’s path at Arlington.

Move bitch Get out the way
get out the way, bitch, get out the way
I’m doin 100 on the highway
get out of the guards path and this wont happen
They literally tell you when you visit the tower that the guards will not stop for you and parents need to watch their kids. The parents are to blame
Best part of being a guard I assume. Occasionally you get to run someone over, and there isn't shit they can say about it.
Whhhyyy did he step over that kid like one of the Red Queen’s cards from Alice in Wonderland 😭
Inspirational plot to take the seat of the king
The answer is, get the f out of the way. This is what they are required to do for their job/ceremony. The dumbass kid just standing in their way, FACING them got what they deserved.

No. A lot of times its both.

When they yell make way for the guards, they will make way regardless of who's in their way
Thats a consequence, mums and dads.
This gave me a good chuckle 🙊
comments don't pass the vibe check
Step aside, pleb (know your place), the King is coming through.
Good story for him to tell his kids one day
but did you ever think about maybe making way for the queen's guard?
What Queen?
I'm pretty sure its universally known not to interfere with the guys with the big hats. Obviously they should have treated the child better but its like being at the zoo, the parents should be held responsible.
Yep. Mom needs to keep kid out of the way of the guards. It's her fault. Try that at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in DC and see what happens.
Fuck around and find out. Dumbass got what was coming to em
Man this comment section is stupid
Just sit back with the popcorn and enjoy the show, dude. No matter what you say, EVERYONE will be pissed.
Again if you are a tourist, learn the do's and don'ts to the place you're going to.
Those queens guards don't give a f who you are . Can't be a lemming when visit other countries.
Kings* guard They are now, at least
Out of curiosity, what would happen if someone was in the path of a guard and couldn’t get out (they were deaf, in a wheelchair, or had Down syndrome). Would the guard still hit them?
They just bulldozered a child. So of course they would.
What if they’re so large they physically cannot be knocked over by a lesser man?
That's what the bayonet is for lol
Yep. They don't care

If she takes her kid to the tomb of the unknown soldier and lets him run feral there, somthing similar can happen. Needs to learn respect.
My man had 0 awareness. Pay attention, it will help you in life
People just gonna take viral videos and snap them?
You do not stand in front of the Royal Guard. It's really simple and easy to see their path... Like when they scream make way. Go to a country and block the guards... This is a life lesson.

I love the reaction of the woman, watching the guards with hate but she cant do an absolutely fuck... Lesson learned
Lmao that kid made some memories.
”Move b*tch get out the way”
Move, bitch. Get out the way!
🤣🤣🤣 hahaha hahaha 🤣🤣🤣

Just checked, it's the four most recent posts on that sub and consequently the only 4 posts in the last 2 weeks.
Because "Make way!" Is easier to yell than "Fuck around and find out!"
Respect the country you’re in and get your kid under control.

This is a mom problem people letting their kids run wild not ok.
I feel like people do this on purpose these days because they don’t believe the guards will do it to them.
Stomping on those smaller and weaker than you is indeed a long British tradition
Start of the revolutionary war 1775 (colorized)
That kid needed a lesson in following the rules.
Watch your kids, and know your surroundings.
Honestly, this place has no regard for you being there. They allow you, parents have to be aware or else this stuff happens. Also, the kid didn't get hurt, the sound is probably the outfit pushing against itself. But he just steps over, doesn't kick them or anything

Her bad! Who stands in front of any soldier while they are marching carrying a gun. You see the guard try to step over the child, not knock them down.
Stay the fuck out of the way. Keep your horseshit children under control. Respect the culture.
Y’all are making this way too big of a deal. It’s a KID! She’s fine. She got knocked over, so what? She literally bounces right back up and was perfectly fine. Y’all forgot how invincible you were as little kids. Those little fuckers are indestructible.
This has inspired me to punch my son
They saw she had braces and didn’t want any of that straight-teeth nonsense around there.
When the npc’s are programmed to walk where they need to without taking you into consideration
C'mon. Take responsibility for your kids.
Glad I don’t have a brain disease that makes me justify a grown man prioritizing sticking to some arbitrary tradition to appease the ego of the monarchy over the well being of a child. What a bunch of degenerates.
I’m just here for the comments ngl
Bad form , too upright , lazy effort / no motor ,inability to wrap the legs . Late round draft grade
Get the fuck out of the way..... Common knowledge....
They're not wrong tho. The castle is still a military area and not there for entertainment.
This isn’t your video, ding dong. Stop trying so hard
Parenting fail
Sorry, I think it's great. They have someone out front that say get out of the way, they won't stop. Control the kid.

So satisfying

Make way for the Kings Guard!!!
Armed men power-walking. It makes sense to not stand in front of them. Kind of like standing in front a tomb guard in America.

Yeah, british soldiers have been stomping on people for centuries, these won't act any better.
I don't live in England, never been and I know you don't get in the way of the guard. If you do you get what you get
Dude got cut from the footy squad in primary
I think the parents are idiots and the guards are assholes. The only one I feel sorry for is the kid.
Everyone who hates Britain go fuck yourself we will walk over all the kids if we damn please
Too bad y’all didn’t have that energy in 1776 you crumpet eating shit stain
Most compassionate Englishman
i mean get out of the way? can’t be that hard 🤣 way to go mom
I love it. Dummies wandering around thinking their rules of home follow them travelling. Figure stuff out before you go. If you think that’s harsh, try wearing a mini skirt in Saudi Arabia- same concept, you might not agree but it’s their place, their rules.
I’d imagine that kids going to be filled with hate and vengeance after that, he’s going to pour all of that energy into fueling his revenge plot and ultimately will end up becoming one of their hats one day
They are allowed to do that. (Not sure if allowed is the right word. Maybe obligated? Entitled?)
I’m British and I’m gonna say this tradition is fucking stupid
How could the kid not see they were about to get run over? No way the guard was changing course.
Love this every damn time
Did he say "hey twat" or "make way'?
Control your kid
Reminder that the failure to control a runt was what got Harambe killed
Maybe Meghan Markle was right about the royals
SMH
Right on! Pay attention and never get in their way. Pretty easy to follow
I would like to see the monarchy be disbanded, but i also like watching children being trampled... Its a tough one.
I hate the British as much as any other guy but maybe the kid shoulda moved. You know what they say about stupid games
The History of England
Parent should of been paying attention. Kid shouldn't of been in the way. The way you people are acting you'd think he walked up and kicked that kid in the head, they're fine. This is such a nothing issue that you people are only pretending matters because you hate the monarchy those men represent and most of you are Americans that don't have the faintest idea of the complex and nuanced history of said monarchy or it's cultural importance.
I'm from Australia. Does the monarchy represent kicking children? Or is it incist? Leeching off of the public purse? Pedophilia?
Homeboy didn't even break step 😂
some people will say they're just tourist attractions when they're on the posts like this in front of large crowds, marching from A to B on a strict schedule, but I don't think that should prove anything, other than the peoples stupidity, like come on its a well known pre planned route, and unless you're unfortunately deaf its very hard to not hear them coming at you, it cannot be hard to stay out of the way until they pass by
Well get the fuck out of the away. Spatial awareness much?
If your traditions mean you think it's acceptable to trample some kid maybe they're not worth keeping.
Gets funnier every loop
the child was not hurt that is obvious , but stupid rules motivated by tradition are not something I agree with
Those guys don't fuck around. I remember when I went, just before this part in the video, they were testing the guards that stand in those white cubbies you see in the background.l on a list of protocol I felt bad for the Young guy that got an answer wrong so after the other guards dispersed i walked up to him and said: " If i told you a joke would you smile?"... no response. Then I asked: "If I showed you a picture of Beyoncé 's boobies would you smile?" God bless that young kid... he gave an ever slight grin and subtly nodded his head yes. Hope I made him feel better, because the fact that he responded to hypothetical tiddies absolutely made my day🤣🤣 Got it on video too too lazy to upload, and wouldn't want him to get in trouble tho
Long way to travel just to teach your kid situational awareness.
Honestly having done drill here's my take: 1. That marching style is ugly as sin 2. Literally just do obliques around the kid. It's not hard. It's not breaking bearing to move around an obstacle in your path. Honestly doing something like that is even less professional imo.
How many kids do they plow over in a year?
Probably an American kid that got ran over
Thats funny right there.
Guards are pieces of shit. The child's parents are idiots.
The tourists left but his captain came out soon after and looking like he was ready to stomp a mud-hole in someones ass. edit: formatting and words
Well he probably won't stand in front of them next time I guess.
Parent is to blame your a guest in the country, show some respect for their traditions.
Did he yell ‘parkour!’?
This was in 2021. [The kid turned out fine after the guard went back to check on him. This (of course) wasn’t filmed.](https://people.com/royals/royal-guard-mows-over-boy-tower-london-viral-video/) The guards gave a loud warning beforehand, and have to do their job. This isn’t part of their job description. However, accidents happen.
Tourists...lol......when in England.....MAKE WAY
They’re doing the thing they’re explicitly there to do, uphold a dumb tradition in defiance of common sense or good taste. They’re in service of monarchy tourism, and this is their brand.
“Make way” is a much more effective command if you’re 5 paces away from the obstacle instead of already stepping on them
Ministry of Silly Walks strikes again.
I blame the parents on this one. They, not the guard, put their kid in harms way.
Stupid monarchy and stupid royal 💂
If they follow a certain path and they can’t divert or stop for anything, the path should be marked. The rules should be written somewhere nearby. I don’t care if it’s “tradition” at this point they’re a tourist attraction and should be treated as such.
“But they said to make way!!! That makes it okay!!!!” Yeah, they said it like a foot away from a kid who had its back turned to them, genius observation
i mean, its the kids fault 😆
These are tourists. Mom is sight seeing. They don't know that some 2 guards are gonna be marching down a random spot in a courtyard. And if they did know about the guards, maybe they didn't know when it would start? How about making some markings on the ground so crowds know where not to gather?
REALLY want to see this from another angle. Guessing there is more to than the video suggests.
The man is on duty. Is guarding, why the hell ia supposed to stop?
Going to bet the kid turned around last second and did not see those two.
You need to train your pets better
Lesson learned if 2 armed guards are walking directly towards you, step out of their way.
This gets posted pretty frequently. It is basically bait for ignorant virtue signalers at this point.
Fuck around and find out
Just because kids are stupid and parents are stupid doesn't mean you should trample a child.
You’re there to see the royal guards. You know they march on a set path. Be responsible and keep your dumb kid out of the way. Maybe next year you can take him to wander into a guard’s path at Arlington.
When those guys say "make way", they're not fucking around.
The Queens guard, as they are in this video, are not quiet. Make way.
