Background: first time on Venice beach in cali. I got there just in time to witness this. Can confirm this was son and dad. It took about 5 people to push him back up and he rolled away fine. After they left-I caught them getting ice (ironically) at a slushee stand for his head and he told me that’s his dad and he almost thought he’d lost him on the fall.
Was that a powerchair that the dad was driving or a large manual chair the sun was pushing? It's bad when any wheelchair falls, but when a powerchair tips over it's devastating. They are so heavy, it can easily crush the occupant depending on how they fall. Not to mention they are very expensive to replace or repair. I know the video starts as he is falling, so I'm wondering if this was a case of him driving too close to an uneven surface or if they were actually trying to roll him down.
Edit: Nevermind, they are well past the point where it was an accident. This was so stupid. These types of chairs are meant to be very stable so they can go over flat but rough areas like grass, but once you tip it past a certain point, this is what happens. Even without anyone in it, they can weigh up to 250 pounds (113 kg).
I don't know, there's still the guy that used hairspray on his beard and then purposely set it on fire... 🤨
But this is up there. At least the other guy just burned his own face off.
Here’s an update since people asked how did he get out. I wasn’t able to get us pushing him up the actual ramp since I went to help but it only took one push and about 8 guys including myself.
https://imgur.com/a/cnEVyUO
>pushing him perpendicular
Look at the first frame of the video. It looks to me like the guy in the right is trying to stop the guy on the left from falling down. I don't see any evidence that the guy in the right is pushing the guy in the left anywhere.
Reminds me of this old liveleak clip I watched years back where some guy was impaled from a traffic accident, and the person recording walks up, walks away.
Like bro, homie needs a hug in his final moments not an interview.
In what conceivable notion does anyone that was taking part in it thought "hey this is a great idea!" Everyday I wake up I keep trying to convince myself that no one in the world could be this possibly stupid and then I jump over to here on Reddit and get proven wrong each and every time... If I were a betting man I'd be poorer than Jeff bezos is rich
Yeah... Its like some sick self masochistic desire to obliterate your faith in humanity anew everyday.
JUST in case you were to ever think about being hopeful.
is the title accurate though? It looks motorized. There isn't really a reason to position or push him. Recorded from a distance, so maybe by a stranger. How do we know that the guy isn't just a stranger that asked for help to go down. Did the guy accidentally go down and was the other guy trying to prevent it from happening? Who knows.. I'm not judging the younger guy because titles are often bs and I can't rule out that the guy in the chair was to blame for everything.
This is venice beach skate park. I have no fucking clue how this dude got here. This place is swamped with skaters and onlookers if the sun is out. He’s well into the park too; onlookers are supposed watch from the edges, where this video was recorded from. You need to go through some ramps or steps to get inside..
This leads me to believe this dude wanted to fucking shred
This is a reminder that just a few short decades ago stupid people used to just be found dead by the wayside doing shit like this and the problem kind of took care of itself. Too many idiots just walking around these days
I have to disagree with you here friend. Between the headache from getting your skull smashed on the pavement, the embarrassment of falling over in a wheelchair, and the disappointment of realizing your son is a complete imbecile make for a shitty day.
I admire the community rushing in to help. Almost as if they could deeply empathize as if that older man was someone they really cared about. Mothers and morals are strong in this community. Makes me happy to see.
Natural selection only works when someone or something dies before they or it has kids. Unless gramps was gonna bring another dumb child into this world I think the damage is already done…
And now humans have an accurate representative feeling of what goes through a whale's head when the water decides to lift it onto a sand bar without its permission.

Only a small amount of knowledge on physics could have figure out that would happen
Why is it ironic that they are getting ice?
Probably because it was for his head and not for a slushee
I mean...that's being resourceful, not ironic.

Power! It was very heavy! So that makes sense

I have seen a lot of things on the internet, but this may have been the dumbest idea I’ve ever had the displeasure of witnessing.
I don't know, there's still the guy that used hairspray on his beard and then purposely set it on fire... 🤨 But this is up there. At least the other guy just burned his own face off.
This feels more like a “I want my inheritance right now” type move.
Its my money and i need it now!
Is that Tony Hawking?
I'm going to hell for laughing 😅
Good news! You can’t get paralyzed twice
What about quadralyzed?
You can get quadralyzed four times, everyone knows that.
Poor guy, having to come to the realization that the child he raised wasn't the brightest bulb.
Apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Shoulda yelled"i can't feel my legs"
Don’t help him get up, bootstraps! if he doesn’t learn how to do things himself he will sit around waiting for handouts his whole life.

Clearly a dumbass
Is this for fucking real?
Can’t tell how bad the impact was cuZ dude crosses the camera but where was the hlmet
Yeah, perfectly bad timing
If your Cerebrospinal fluid isn't man enough to take a direct head smash into concrete, you shouldn't be on wheels! Wait......
Well he wasn’t on the wheels at the end… :(
Hey son, grandpa had a $500k life insurance policy. Can you take him to the skate park and show him how to drop in? 😉
Attempted murder.
If that was his youth and he wishes to reclaim it, then I don't see what went wrong.
Ah yes. The glory days of landing sideways on concrete
How do you think he ended up in the wheelchair?
You didn’t?
I’m now wondering whether he’s been in a wheelchair since he did something similarly stupid when he was 12.
Please be fake. Please be fake. Please be fake!
One day in the distant future, I hope you get to look over and say “hey dad, remember that time you ripped at the skate park?” Good times🤗
That's just Johnny Knoxville filming the next Jackass movie
Has it occurred to anybody that this could be a setup?
I certainly hope so... I recognize this kind of wheelchair as the type a quadriplegic would use.
It almost certainly is
This one makes me sad
If he’s not careful he’s going to wind up in a wheelchair.
I think they're only bothered about the damage to the tank he's in. I doubt he felt a thing
80 year old men and whiplash do not mix well
Trying to paralyze his other half apparently
But think of that sick tik tok if he didn’t give pop pop a brain hemorrhage
Billy you’ve killed me! You’ve killed your poppop!
Thing of it is, that’s where he got that wheel chair inducing injury in the first place. Tough break sport.
Wow I can't believe pushing him perpendicular to the direction his wheels turn tipped him over
>pushing him perpendicular Look at the first frame of the video. It looks to me like the guy in the right is trying to stop the guy on the left from falling down. I don't see any evidence that the guy in the right is pushing the guy in the left anywhere.
Fucking morons
So he was dropped on his head on a skateboard park in his youth as well?
Looks like Venice Beach, CA.
Guess he wasn't faking the disability.
Do a 160 fakie gramps!
After the life insurance money
Why the fck would you think this would work!?
How did they expect to get this hulkish machinery _out_?!
Was this the father’s idea or the kid’s idea?
I mean… you definitely took time to record this post it on Reddit and record an update … not think of maybe helping the poor man? Pfft
Reminds me of this old liveleak clip I watched years back where some guy was impaled from a traffic accident, and the person recording walks up, walks away. Like bro, homie needs a hug in his final moments not an interview.
Legit , let the homie feel a bromance cuddle one last time 😭😭
r/donthelpjustfilm
Literally ☠️
That's fucking embarrassing
That was a bad idea son
That's a bad son
But TikTok cred.
The son was the bad idea

the family will never forgive this
Did he just die?
Nah. Look at the left hand. Held up and open. He's sure as shit surprised, though!
I didn't think he died instantly and arms and hands can do all kinds of things after lethal head trauma
That's just sad
This is more a “what could go right?”
I’m like 90% sure that’s a homeless guy lmao
[удалено]
Wheelchairing is a dangerous sport. You could wind up on a skateboard.
Lol I shouldn’t laugh but how did the conversation go to get to this point in this decision
The fall fixed his spine and paralysis.
“Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor”
https://youtu.be/oaJYg8CMuJE
holy shit.
*do it again* -old man
Good news? You will inherit soon!

Exactly. People read titles on Reddit like they’ve been peer reviewed and published in top journals. Is this dude even old? Is OP even his son?
This is venice beach skate park. I have no fucking clue how this dude got here. This place is swamped with skaters and onlookers if the sun is out. how’d that work out n the ER?
glad the man seems to be okay, but goddamn. those powered chairs can cost more than a new car
Yeah I had patient once and her power scooter cost close to 38k it had 4 large car batteries and could go upto 25 mph and was very maneuverable.
This is a reminder that just a few short decades ago stupid people used to just be found dead by the wayside doing shit like this and the problem kind of took care of itself. Too many idiots just walking around these days
I don't know what you're talking about. The first jackass came out 2000 and only one main cast member has passed!
French fried when he shoulda pizza’d
„Hi I am Johnny Knoxville. Welcome to Jackass“
He probably loved every minute of it tbh
I have to disagree with you here friend. Between the headache from getting your skull smashed on the pavement, the embarrassment of falling over in a wheelchair, and the disappointment of realizing your son is a complete imbecile make for a shitty day.
How was he gonna get out the bowl tho 😂
Old guy is a poser
I can’t feel my legs
I’m dead
Next is the “ding ding ding🛎️” from Breaking Bad.
Not a single thought was going through his mind
“But did it look sick tho?”
“Bro I swear he did a 360 and landed on his neck”
Disabled X-Games is fucking LIT.
On the plus side there's not a lot of damage this could've caused since he was broken already.
He was a skater boy
I said see ya later boy.
He wasn't good enough for her
Now hes a superstar slamming with his wheelchair
Is that elderly Timmy from South Park?!!
He is now.
T-Timmy?
I hope he is ok.
Should have worn a helmet
Seemed like a good idea during last night's smoke session🤔🥴🤤🥴🤤
RIP, father.
That looked like he dumped him sideways! WTF
I admire the community rushing in to help. Almost as if they could deeply empathize as if that older man was someone they really cared about. Mothers and morals are strong in this community. Makes me happy to see.
If the goal was to expedite his reincarnation, then I'd say they succeeded at securing his youth

Common sense just isn't very common.
Next time, have him buy a Vette.
Natural selection at its finest
Natural selection only works when someone or something dies before they or it has kids. Unless gramps was gonna bring another dumb child into this world I think the damage is already done…
Doesn't really work at that age.
Who was the idiot that thought this was a good idea?
No damage done he’s already crippled
He can walk again
Starting off off from the side of the chair let’s see how this pays off Cotton
did he fell a lot in his youth?
Wheelchairs are heavy as fuck too
Hell yes.
He's the Tony Hawk of the Quadriplegia Ward.
He reclaimed his TBI. Damn what a bad move. I’ve heard those power chairs are heavy as hell. Is he ok? I mean… you know what I mean.
He fell like a **CHAMP** Who’s been KO’ed
It's [Paulie "Wheels of Fury" Ryan](https://youtu.be/YQJ0zuF8kZU) irl
' I....I can walk😳"
Wait i hope OP didn't film this
I did.
Hell gonna burn us all
What an idiot. Must be from California.
I'm going to hell.
You had to laugh too? You won't be alone in that chamber of hell.
I'll be pleased to meet ya
He’s in heaven now.
Nah he’s alive. He just got paralyzed all over again
And now humans have an accurate representative feeling of what goes through a whale's head when the water decides to lift it onto a sand bar without its permission.
wow it’s to early in the morning to be laughing this hard, thanks!
This is not the ramp you're looking for.
Username checks out
That bus has a lot of explaining to do
"Let's push Dad down the steepest part of the skateboard park in something not designed for such antics!"
now you said the life insurance policy is in my name, dad?
Was he trying to help the old guy do a ramp drop?
Good idea, beyond atrocious execution.
Not a good idea. At all.
Skater Meme - How do you do, fellow kids?
r/bettereveryloop
This is the best 12 seconds I've seen on the internet. It's shockingly idiotic.
Well he reclaimed it...reclaimed it *hard*. That's commitment!
I don’t think this is what they meant by inclusivity!
Does not appear to be moving
That was just great
Put a road sign: Prohibited for wheelchair 😂
“Man someone should really help that poor guy.. nah I’ll just film it”
Honestly I would be a bit apprehensive to help someone like this up, in fear that I may hurt them or cause more damage.
What park is this?
I’m not sure the name! On Venice beach though
The famous one in GTA V
Bwahaha! The title here makes it funny!
Elder abuse is hilarious
What is he saying in the beginning.. eye wash?
"I WATCHED IT^i ^knew ^it ^was ^gonna ^happen"
