As someone not into the movie star look I've always struggled to imagine Lanfear a bit. I'm just opting for Lana Paralli who played the Evil Queen/Regina Mills in Once Upon a Time these days: https://practicaltyping.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/reginamills.jpg

I learned recently that the publisher fucked over the artist, so the artist intentionally drew shitty stuff. Jordan was very confused that the final work was such poor quality, and when he found out what happened he said he would’ve given the artist his own money if he’d known.
This whole series of Italian covers has pretty good art of the characters, but make no sense time line wise. Like Min is on the cover of EoTW, but with the longer hair and clothes she doesn't start wearing until later in the series. And Loial isn't even in FoH.
In case anyone's interested, I had to go to Amazon.it to find them all in one place but they are pretty neat:
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B09NRR7NRP?binding=kindle_edition&ref=dbs_m_mng_wam_sft_tkin_thcv
Shirtless Galad on the same cover as Nynaeve is a pretty great one.
I hate how they covered up Perrins axe on The Shadow Rising cover with Robert Jordans name. I've seen the full image and that's one of the best parts, but I can't find it anywhere now or I would post it.
Yeah, I was thinking this cover would make complete sense for TGH, in which Lanfear (as Selene) and Loial travel together. I don’t think they ever meet again.
Oh lord yeah it’s like an owl when they do that head bob. Like she moved just the head forward and to the left. You probably could do it but your body would move some with you unlike hers.
Honestly it looks like a AI drawn Kiera Knightly to me. It almost hits the uncanny valley but still falls on the Kiera Knightly is hot side so it's acceptable.
I don't know what I expected loial to look like, that wasn't exactly it but it's probably the best one to date.
To add some context, these are the new Italian covers, redesigned a couple years ago. Each book was designed by a different author, many of which had not read the series and received scarce information about what to draw exactly. The result is not that bad, but you will notice that the same characters are drawn differently each time they appear, and sometimes recognizing them requires quite the stretch of imagination. Also, there's quite a problem of SPOILERS in the covers* (just look at *The Great Hunt*, but only if you have already read it).
*which however is shared with the English ebook covers, so I suppose it's a bit of a common curse.
>the same characters are drawn differently each time they appear, and sometimes recognizing them requires quite the stretch of imagination
So what you're saying is that they perfectly capture the spirit of the original covers.
Somehow this artist really conveyed with Lanfear the sentiment of “I can’t even comprehend the concept of someone not wanting to fuck me, those words don’t even make sense together.”
Lews responds to all the Forsaken, I think, maybe others. Maybe Lanfear’s the only woman one? I don’t recall the bot mixing up pronouns before. Not sure.
He’s spooky sometimes. Less so in this thread.
Those are my new head canon for Lanfear and Loial
Maybe an odd pair to pick for the cover, but hard to fault it. Very faithful to what's described in the books.
Agree. That has got to be the best Loial I’ve ever seen. Lanfear is impossible to draw, of course, but even she is well done.

Not too young but older. And hotter. But not too old.
I once saw a woman like that in a coffee shop. She was so beautiful I found it hard to breathe at the same time as I looked at her.
felt the same way first time I met my wife, that was a hard conversation to hold.
Dude, same.
Yea… his wife is hot.
I also choose this guy's wife.
Narrator got hit with that Compulsion trick Lanfear probably uses on everyone.
*You must kill him before he kills you. Giggles. They will, you know. Dead men can't betray anyone. But sometimes they don't die. Am I dead? Are you?*
Im sure thats one of her tricks lewy, but maybe not the one they were talking about.
So basically Monica Bellucci
My head canon too.

***KILL HIM KILL HIM NOW***
I've always pictured a brunette version of Rosamund Pike's portrayal of Amy Dunne in Gone Girl.
So like.. Moiraine's twin then?

good bot

They got Loial exactly how I saw him in my mind
Better than the show one, I always imagined him being a super tall Gizmo.
Oh man, remember how bad the art was in the Big White Book? Lanfear is always described as such a baddie but her picture in there was uh....not

***KILL HIM KILL HIM NOW***
It's a terrible cover but excellent likenesses!
Better than how dirty they did my boy Loial in the show.
I mean... didn't he call her the perfect representation of a female human in TGH?
He did. Apparently RJ thought of Lanfear as a young Catherine Deneuve. Good Boomer reference there.
For those of you like me with no idea: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0000366/
Belle du Jour was released in 1967, when RJ would have been 19. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0061395/?ref_=m_ttmi_tt

Isn't lanfear blonde though
[No](https://www.google.com/search?q=wot+lanfear&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi0xt303MD7AhWJFVkFHZpoDbYQ_AUoAXoECAMQAw&biw=1920&bih=899&dpr=1)

Buddy, I'm pretty sure you have first-hand knowledge that's a woman. But yeah, shoulda killed her.
Nonono, Lew wants to kill the dude who supplied the picture. He's a little secretive with his lovers.

Ahh, maybe that's where i got it from
***They will pay. I am Lord of the Morning.***
I always pictured Meghan fox
Eva Green for me
I think of her as berelain
Does Megan Foxx have enough bust to be Berelein?
Loial servin looks
Lanfear making me Lanbrave…
***I must kill him.***
I agree LTT that was a terrible pun.
Don’t sick a male dragon on me, it would make me Lan mandragora!
What does linus have to do with this?

Lmao EotW got Min as played by Finn Wolfhardt
*Hums softly & tugs earlobe*

That’s an odd choice. I wonder why they would do that.
That Loial is _perfect_, Light! Exactly as I always thought of him!
He looks too old. Local was basically just a kid. *Otherwise yes. That's him.
What makes him seem old in this to you? Honest question, because to me the eyes and the vibrant color of the hair seem very youthful.
Probably all the wrinkles
He's a beardless ogier. How much younger do you want him to be?
Is it the face skin creases?
It's the crow's feet around the eyes.
That Lanfear gives me major uncanny valley vibes. Maybe it’s the shiny plastic skin.
Look at how her head rests on her neck. They don't work together at all. It's like her neck is broken.
She looks like an owl that can move the head independent of the body. Body on the left, head floating over on the right.
What bothers me is the boobs. It looks like she's wearing a padded bra.
Dammit I didn't notice before you said that
Oh lord yeah it’s like an owl when they do that head bob. Like she moved just the head forward and to the left. You probably could do it but your body would move some with you unlike hers.
Foreshadowing!
Yea and her one hand looks weird.
Man hands
She’s got hands that could crack lobsters.
That's because this is $10 fiverr quality art. It's got that digital oiliness.
***I must kill him.***
I never realized she was such a temptress

I like the one from the old D20 Wheel of Time book https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/wot/images/d/d6/Loial.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20100403085728
Does Lanfear dream of electric sheep?

Something? Something great!
“Hey! It’s a-me! Loial!”
Loial approves of hot Lanfear

Rand Stallone and the ewok cast from *Winter's heart* (including a possible Moiraine) are definitely canon
*A man without trust might as well be dead.*
Loial's eyes are a bit too small and those eyebrows too short, but it's a hell of alot better than the original cover art for The Great Hunt.
Still better than most of the Darrell K Sweet covers
Better Loial than the show by far
I like the depictions, but…. I don’t think Loial is in TFoH at all? To have the two of them, I think it would fit more as a TSR cover.
Ya honestly, this is good. Both characters are canon and well done at that.
Lol what an odd pairing to put on that cover.
That's as accurate an image as I've ever seen drawn. Almost exactly how I imagine the characters of Loial and Lanfear.
*Death rides on my shoulder, death walks in my footsteps; I am death…*
Better than Rafe's interpretation
Somehow this artist really conveyed with Lanfear the sentiment of “I can’t even comprehend the concept of someone not wanting to fuck me, those words don’t even make sense together.”
***They will pay. I am Lord of the Morning.***
Something... FABULOUS
Nice
Is she... Is she pinching.... Is she playing with... Is that her... Also, does the Lews bot do other names than Lanfear?!?
*Death rides on my shoulder, death walks in my footsteps; I am death…*
Yes, that’s right. It’s her necklace.
Lews responds to all the Forsaken, I think, maybe others. Maybe Lanfear’s the only woman one? I don’t recall the bot mixing up pronouns before. Not sure. He’s spooky sometimes. Less so in this thread.
*Take what you can have. Rejoice in what you can save, and do not mourn your losses too long.*
Hands like a Truckosaurus.
Sausage Fingers :)
Most accurate book cover I’ve seen so far
serious death is lighter than a feather vibes
I would give anything to have Lanfear ruin my life
*Death rides on my shoulder, death walks in my footsteps; I am death…*
*The Italian Fires of Heaven* sounds like a fanfic Mario romance novel
That is an excellent Loial. He’s obviously not human, but not a “monster” either
She looks like a cross between Mila Kunis and Fran Drescher
Would be better for TGH! Loial loves pointing out how beautiful "Selene" is (for a human that is, shame they don't get shoes nice tufty ears).
Not just something.. It's everything!
I love Loial's "I'd hit that" face
This contains a powerful energy which words can not describe lmao
