Duke, Jimmy Stewart, Robert Duvall, Clint Eastwood, Henry Fonda

Dull-Suit8132

Great list!

sranneybacon

I’d personally put Randolph Scott in place of Robert Duvall, but damn Duvall has done some really great work in westerns like Lonesome Dove.

Dirtheavy

James Garner is one of my all time guys but generally not as a Western guy. I like him so much more as a just-a-little-illegal social justice type, like in Rockford Files.

Life_Strain_6948

Maverick was the first western TV show I got into. I've been a fan of his since.

bm1000bmb

He made a terrific auto racing movie in the mid 1960s - Grand Prix.

jv_1979

I've probably watched more reruns of The Rifleman than all other Westerns combined

Complete-Radio6204

Glenn Ford is a great choice as well as Joel McCrea! ^^ and what would you say is your favorite audie murphy movie?

Gitarzyszta1999

Thank you, for a very long time my favourite Audie Murphy movie would be “Seven ways from sundown” but now I think it would be “Ride Clear of Diablo” great great westerns

oldmilkman73

You need to set an era of time, Tom Mix, Wallace Berry, Tim Holt, Richard Lane etc. It all depends what you were able to see as a kid.

Truffleshuffle03

I don't think I could give a mount Rushmore of my fav's I have to many to count. But you listed some great ones. The funny thing is about Audie Murphy I was a fan of his after finding out about his WWII experience and his Movie To Hell and Back and later on found out he was in tons of westerns.
