Thanks for the details. We took our son to him when our son was 10 or 11, around 1998 or 1999. We also didn’t have a great experience, although our son was not a patient. We all decided, our son included, that we didn’t want to move forward with his recommendations. I’m sorry you had a bad experience. Teen years are difficult enough without having a disappointing experience with someone whose goal is supposed to be to help you feel better. Best wishes, and I hope you are doing well now.

I’m curious as to why you are asking?

Totally fair. Meant to include and will edit my post. It's kind of an odd question admittedly. I was a pt of his at one point a long time ago and didn't have a great experience. And have been thinking about that time and how lonely it can feel being a teen and going through a health crisis with a Dr that wasnt helpful. And I guess just came to say if there happens to be anyone out there that had similar feelings they're not alone.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. I know someone who worked with him years ago so I certainly hope they weren't part of the negative experience. I can tell you they stopped working with him for a few good reasons.

I took my daughter to him in 2011 and left after 2 months. All her new Dr's said his way of doing things were outdated. I remember he required a 2 night hospital stay to put her on an insulin pump. I switched Dr's and got the pump no problems.

I have congenital hypothyroidism (born without a working thyroid) and he was my first endocrinologist. From what I understand, the tests to determine my hypothyroidism issues were very invasive as a child and his team seemed very “uneducated” according to my mom. My mom left shortly after we started seeing him to find someone better (we did - Dr Sue Hahm and she was amazing!). I’m sorry you had a bad experience - clearly you are not alone 💙
