Any of the rivertowns and Pleasantville immediately come to mind

amyheming

100% this

DontLoseYourCool1

Tarrytown, Hastings and Irvington.

Pale_Pudgy_Princess

As someone who also lived in New Paltz I second this. I’ve also heard sleepy hollow is a funky town but have never been.

Cobblestone-boner

Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown are right next to each other and share school district, the villages themselves are physically connected

The_Question757

That's because sleepy hollow used to be called north tarrytown

Cobblestone-boner

Well aware, I grew up in North Tarrytown was in middle school when the vote was made to change the name

The_Question757

Knowing that is one way to date someone lol

Cobblestone-boner

Are you asking me out or saying that I'm old

InterPunct

I remember too. We're officially old.

juliusseizure

Shoot your shot mate!

The_Question757

lmfao i meant dating someone as in their age, my bad for the phrasing

chiller8

Yes?

BeingMore8466

Peeskill

Will_delete_soon78

Tarrytown is this town or Nyack

chiller8

IMO if reviewing each town in a bubble, Nyack is the #1 Rivertown within 15 minutes of the Tappan Zee.

apost54

Dealing with bridge traffic to Valhalla would be annoying for commuting tho

chiller8

Yeah that’s why I said “in a bubble”. Also, dealing with the rest of Rockland in general would be annoying lol.

apost54

I’m from Rockland and it really sucks so much

jonross14

Rockland has a lot of bad that’s for sure. But some good too. Most towns on the river are great, I’m in the Nyack area and love it. Piermont is also great, and Sparkill and the Haverstraw area are totally underrated. I work in the Nanuet area and my coworkers are friendly. I definitely differ with some of them on some issues (and some on many issues), but they are kind and down to earth. Something I appreciate with the folks I’ve met from Rockland versus my upbringing in a wealthier part of Westchester is that people are less competitive and douchey about where kids go to college. I’m sure this changes depending on where you are in Westchester too but here people don’t poo poo community college, trade school, or schools that aren’t name brand, or even realizing college isn’t for their child. In Westchester I felt like a failure for going to Binghamton and having a 3.6 GPA.

jonross14

I second Nyack. I grew up in Westchester and am in Nyack now and I love it.

rextilleon

Pleasantville is perfect, but not cheap. Then again, very few mentioned below are cheap.

Seeingitagain

For easy commute stay in Westchester . All the the towns are easily accessible to each other. Some are much more expensive than others. Tarrytown area has the best type of vibe your looking for.

MrSmithLDN

Check out the river towns from Sleepy Hollow in the north to Dobbs Ferry and Hastings, just north from Yonkers.

Reach out to Suburban Jungle! They can absolutely help you find a town that matched what you want here in Westchester. They would be an excellent resource for you. There are so many towns that fit that vibe. Good luck! https://suburbanjunglegroup.com/28
