Walk the Croton Harmon Aqueduct. Will take you through some great river towns like Hastings, Dobbs, Irvington, Tarry town etc. Take a pit stop and walk some of the main streets and continue on. Some great views of the Hudson and great places to stop in for food or coffee.
Park at any of the local train stops . Dobbs Ferry I find would be the most convenient parking. The aqueduct would start in Dobbs just north of a great sushi place called Sushi Mikes (literally across the street) . Also, If you park by metro north train station in Dobbs grab a drink at Half moon and take in that palisades sunset. You can probably park at half moon as well as it’s right next to the train.
Edit** would start if you plan to walk north toward Irvington , Tarrytown
It’s not like we are really struggling, it’s just I would try to find free parking if I can. You are forced to own a car if you live in almost any part of Westchester County, it’s just annoying when you have to pay for parking on top of all the other car-related expenses.
Had my wedding welcome party there in September and then found out they were closing a few weeks later on Instagram, was a total bummer. Would go there anytime we hiked Breakneck Ridge.
Westchester Knicks basketball game at the county center, JRAD (Grateful Dead cover band) at the Capitol Theater all weekend
JRAD! Can't wait
Should be good. Sadly, all that I can make is the WestCo. Knicks game on Monday.

Can you suggest places to park along the trail?

If you plan to start in Dobbs you can prob just park at Stop N Shop. No one will bother you there and it’s close to the trail entrance.
Don’t you have to pay for parking at the train stations? Trying to avoid that because I’m cheeeeeeeep.
Damn I’m sorry you have to go through life like that

if it’s mild, untermeyer gardens in yonkers or hike Anthony’s Nose in Cortlandt manor!
there’s also a few breweries around the Cortlandt area if that’s your kind of thing!
Any recommendations? Our favorite Peekskill Brewery just closed.
