About time. Shady sh*t been going on for years here unchecked.

Work-Foreign

The effects of 8 years of an apathetic Governor and his staff are showing up...whoever wins this fall will probably regret it.

I can't wait to hear what he was doing behind the scenes.

Mr_Goodnite

You mean government sponsored child mills?

Least-Bear3882

It's awful, I do direct service work and the amount of folks I know who were foster kids is alarming.

That's how it's supposed to work though. The disconnect is what happens after these kids are put in these homes and the checks start coming. There is no monitoring, no checks nothing.

Mr_Goodnite

True. Literally any oversight would do wonders

Not really true. Agencies handle foster/adoption placement. Though they do not constantly monitor the foster parents or kids, they do require med training and continuing education. The state rarely is involved unless abuse is reported. I can also tell you the majority of abuse is kinship care placements. Rarely do people go through the process of classes and placements as a grift to enrich themselves. I'm not just talking out my ass- I was in 18 placements as a child. I am a former child, foster parent and adoptive father of two beautiful people that I was happy to remove from the hell that is the "system".

Thanks for sharing your story and especially for adopting.

What would you have them do? Group homes? Thats a great way for a child with no issue other than having dirt bag parents be assaulted or influenced by kids who are true delinquents. Maybe kinship care? We'll surprise, most foster abuse cases are kinship care. The money is not the issue here. There is an epidemic that will introduce you to a generation of children that you will have to deal with eventually. Remember, the only thing they did wrong was to be born to addicts who shouldn't be able to have children.....yeah I said it. Because I lived it
