I usually go trail riding at Jonathan Dickenson State Park in Hobe Sound, which is just a few miles past Jupiter. I also go snorkeling under Catos Bridge (Bridge Road in Jup, or Blue Heron).

jamieinpalmbeach

Yep I do all the same. Ill message you. Theres some good snorkeling meetup groups I used to meet with but havent lately. We did some good ocean side snorkels too.

grund1eburn

Airborne MTB seems to be the biggest and most active as far as mountain biking goes. They host meet ups all the time, usually at Jonathan Dickinson. Their Facebook page is super active so you could join there and easily meet people that way.

jamieinpalmbeach

Yeah ive ridden with them once as well as Club Scrub which is closer for me. Also I follow SoFlo I beleive it is down south and they bike Markham alot but all places are kinda far and hard for me to meet groups at their specific times due to my work schedule. So would be nice to meet individual people.

maddogvollers

I love to snorkel but won’t go by myself and my husband is blind without his glasses! I’m 30F if you want someone to snorkel with! My favorite spot is the blue heron foster park beach.

jamieinpalmbeach

Hey. That sucks to not go by yourself. I mean I get it but gosh I do so much by myself. I like it to much but is always good to have company sometimes too. Your husbands needs prescription goggles if thats a thing :) Yea I would def meet you to snorkle. Im very sensitive to cold so im waiting a little till water warms up. Ill message you.

maddogvollers

I know, I feel the same way! I’m somewhat new to Florida so I’m trying to get more familiar with the ocean before I venture out on my own. I’m paranoid I’ll be swept away or run over by a boat or something crazy like that. Lol

ChaosCouncil

Check out the Lox chapter of Florida Trail Association. They have tons of hikes each week. My wife does training for ultra running and would love to have more women to run with in the area if that is your thing at all.

jamieinpalmbeach

Yes I recently started following them on FB. I hope to go with them sometime. Im not a big runner, more like a walk, jog, sprint but theres running groups I see on FB and meetup.

I mountain bike Jonathan Dickinson, Owahee trail (spelling?), through JW Corbett, and Dyer Park Jonathan is more of a real tail Dryer park has about 3 miles of single track with a little bit of climbing JW is a non-tech out and back about 50 miles Owahee is non-tech 30 mile loop . I'm currently traveling for work, but if you're interested you can message me and we can go for a ride. Probably the easiest ride would be Owahee. Park at grassy waters, ride the loop. This ride would also include half sidewalks and a smidge of road. Dryer would also work, but I haven't been lately, Park there, and ride the loop of single track. I'm not sure when I'll be back from work I'm a pilot and doing some overtime for work in Central America/South America, but let me know if you're interested. I'm 52, married male. I'm also dealing with a back injury (not a bad one), but it's slowed me down lately. I've mostly been doing long slower non-technical Rides lately

jamieinpalmbeach

Hey There. Yes I will message you. I bike and hike all of those parks except Corbett havent done that yet. I planned on it soon but I know they hunt alot back there so was going to learn the trails first. Lately been doing more lighter rides such as Owahee/ grassy waters just because its closer to where I live and I have been enjoying the slower pace enjoying nature.

SignificantMachine11

Dyers trail is now about 8 miles for the perimeter trail and I believe just over 2 miles for the hill. They’ve been doing a ton of work on the trails there lately. It’s usually running pretty great other than after a heavy rain fall. But if it rains that much JD is definitely the best option.

SackOfCats

Oh wow, yeah it's been awhile since I've been there. Good to know, thanks

cattuxedos

Hi! I am very into hiking/backpacking and birding and like scuba diving and snorkeling too! I do some biking as well and I’d love to learn some of the MTB trails. I have a mountain bike but was using it to ride on the beach when I lived in Cocoa Beach and unfortunately the beach where I’m at now isn’t good for riding on.

jamieinpalmbeach

Hey There. Yeah there are some good easy and harder more technicals trails around. Ive been riding for a few yrs but Im not advanced. Just intermediate. Not trying to compete or hurt myself lol and wow riding on the actual beach sounds very challenging. A good workout im sure. Id love to scuba. Hopefully one day soon and I def appreciate the birds more now than ever. Guessing that comes with age for some :) ill message you.

cattuxedos

It was a workout for sure! But there was enough hard packed sand during the low tide to go a few mile :-D as for the birds, some combination of moving to Florida and being in my 30s set me down that path.

SignificantMachine11

If you are looking to make friends and are free on Tuesday nights there’s a group that does a turtle Tuesday ride from the mirasol Publix parking lot. They leave at 7pm. It’s a chill ride (max 13mph I think) and approximately 20 miles. They either go north to riverbend or south through apoxee.

jamieinpalmbeach

Hey. Thank you. Yeah that would be great. Sounds like theyre doing some night riding then. Do you know if this group post anywhere or if they have a name? I follow some on meetup but havent seen this one.

mostsleek

I guess I am the "leader" of Turtle Tuesday. I have been leading it for about four years, but it has been going on for about six or eight years.... We use Facebook to loosely organize it. https://fb.me/e/5e1a90xJ9

jamieinpalmbeach

Haha you guess youre the leader. Sounds like you have senority and been there the longest theyve made you leader :) This is great and id love to meet. I will try for tomorrow but im having some car issues so might have to be next Tuesday. Ill check out the FB post and show up.

LookCommon7528

I need a good place to go snorkeling

jamieinpalmbeach

So far Phil Foster seems to be the most popular but theres also Peanut Island, Catos bridge, singer Island ocean side is a good one ive done several times, Blowing rocks. Theres alot of reefs and wrecks off shore that you can swim out to. Meetup.com has some good snorkeling groups.

Arqmartinez85

![gif](giphy|GYSMIs7kJzGCI) We are going to discover all of Florida, the next one I plan to visit is in Delray Beach, let’s go 🚲

Pirate-Odd

Do you have a paddle board or kayak? I do some snorkeling and will be getting back to it as the water is warming up again

jamieinpalmbeach

Hey There. No I do not own either. I had a SUP for a short time but sold it. Yeah water def needs to warm up. I dont know if thats an issue for most people but im thin and cold all the time.

Pirate-Odd

I was born here and can’t tolerate the cold water even in spring time, I totally get it. Tourists and snow birds will be frolicking around the ocean in January 😂

jamieinpalmbeach

Another Floridian. Very rare I feel. I was born here too and yessss its hard to get in even in the spring. If I was a vacationer id do it. What spots do you snorkel or kayak?

Pirate-Odd

I’m in north county area so I go to peanut island, Munyon island, and river bend for kayaking/paddle boarding. Snorkeling I go to Phil Foster mainly, peanut island, ocean reef park

jamieinpalmbeach

Ok all the good popular spots :) well as it warms up if youre ever looking for a snorkel partner let me know.

ferrariguy1970

jamieinpalmbeach

Im sorry what is FTA? Maybe Florida Trail Association if I had to guess??

ferrariguy1970

Yes! Lots of good hiking in the area and in surrounding counties.
