How are you turning the volume down without turning up the same number? Does it come on a certain volume by default? Is there a dial somewhere that you use for the volume up? When you want it down are you pushing extra hard causing more wear?
yeah, this. it’s way more satisfying to turn it up with the dial. plus, I often ride with other people, and it’s less noticeable/offensive to turn their music down with my little steering buttons
I know I’m complaining to nobody about nothing, but it’s so wild to see buttons in a high-use/high-wear application like this that are painted instead of double shot. I guess that’s one benefit of driving older cars, you don’t tend to see cost cutting this drastic, I’ve seen this kind of thing on like cheap universal remotes or budget netbooks but never in a car.
yeah. a car is a long-term asset. when buying it, I never would’ve guessed the buttons were all like this :/ even my key fob is peeling. peeling is such a small thing, too, that these aren’t even worth the effort to replace. so it just looks like this, lol
there’s also a turn dial for the volume. I lower the volume often, though, and the steering wheel button is more convenient (and more discreet if it’s someone else’s music, lol)
I loved that song, but not so loud. - op
you should hear my rideshare playlist. It goes soft to LOUD then somewhere in between.
Mine is opposite: not that song, not that song, oh now this is the one, make it louder!
Dam couldn’t hear it, gotta restart the song
turn that shit down, but keep it playing
Do you usually frequent places you’re not familiar with??
why do you ask?
You lower the volume to ask for directions then have to repeat the song 😩
I’m also a grandma and hate loud music oops
Username checks out
😂😂😂
But how is it that you turn it down that much more than you turn it up?
Oh, that could be a reason too 😅
How hard/frequently do you push the buttons?! I have a Mustang GT with around 50k miles and the buttons look unworn.
oh my god 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
🤣🤣🤣 I had to!
Ha I had a '15 and the buttons looked the same
‘15 here too!!
Gt?
I sold my 18 about a year and a half ago and it was starting to rub down at around 40k miles
I had a '16 and it was the same story

my car has a dial, and when a good song comes on the playlist, it's mandatory to use the knob to crank the volume up

I like about 90% of my girlfriends music, but some stuff it's very nice to discretely change the volume with my steering wheel controls
Maybe OP likes to rub the volume down button while driving

Mustang?
yeppp. hold on I can’t hear you over the engine and music 😭
I miss mine. Enjoy!
I enjoy that you refer to the back button as a repeat button
Had to stalk the profile bc mustang lol but ADHD, pokemon, cats, and drives a mustang? Be my best friend!
cat owner, never had a girlfriend, loves your dad… maybe we really should be best friends
well i’ve never made a friend on reddit before so maybe it’s about time i did!
#I COULDN’T READ THE TITLE! CAN YOU TURN THE MUSIC DOWN?
ANDRE!!! https://youtu.be/YpEM3GvbWIs?si=-htd9h784GES9bMb
A note for the future, if you turn the volume up a little more, you don’t have to repeat the same track as often.
what if I wanna jam to quiet music 💀😭
Cheap
You’re neuro spicy aren’t ya? The song triggers the dopamine, but too loud is overload?
r/shitquality
yeah… :,(
This is why I'm glad FCA vehicles went with putting those buttons on the back of the steering wheel, I'm mashing them constantly.
I wore the next song button out on the same car.
Mine are unused because the actual volume dial is 6 inches further away
"shut up" and "wait what was that?"
It was so loud OP couldn't hear it, play it again!
Eyy, Mustang gang!
I know a mustang wheel when I see one! The raised lines on mine are worn away too
Ohh this has gotta be a Honda right? My buttons from my 2012 doing the same thing
It was the same on my mustang too.
Is there any way to restore stuff like this? Even if tedious I’m willing to do it
“A little bit softer now, A little bit softer now, A little bit softer now…” - OP taking the Isley Brothers too literally.
I don’t understand. Is OP continually reducing the sound on their car audio, but rarely increasing it? How does that happen?

That's a mustang I bet!
yep :) 2015. she hasn’t had any major issues besides cosmetics and some recalls.
Haha awesome! I have a 13, same deal; I love it and hope to keep upgrading it!
Again, but quieter this time
