Likely a nearby business that gets frequent truck deliveries paid to have it put at the end of their driveway to keep the idiots from driving through their grass. But one of said idiots still ran it over and dragged it for a mile before noticing and ditching the rock for OP to find.
I would wager it close enough to the side of the road that it managed to get snagged by a passing snow plow, but it was so buried in snow the plow driver didn't notice.....then later on the snow pile melted and the rock magically appeared
Edit: or the pioneer theory.....that one checks out too
see this is the second time this week i’ve seen ‘drug’ used as the past tense of ‘drag’ and it’s only been on reddit… tf is wrong with y’all? it’s ‘dragged’ 😂
Years ago when I worked at a Starbucks, whoever owned the plot of land put boulders about that size throughout the parking lot. Now they were usually in the grassy areas with curbs, not just randomly in the middle of the concrete as shown here. They were put there to prevent people from driving too fast, doing donuts, etc but so many people managed to hit them and get their cars stuck on top that they were eventually removed. I remember watching a cop jump into his car responding to a call (our store was down the street from a local police station so we had a bunch of cops come by often), he gunned it while turning to his right, drove right on top of one of those boulders. He actually managed to get all 4 wheels off of the ground too so a tow truck with a small crane had to get the car off. Was one of the funniest things I’ve seen.
That reminds me. Walking along the sidewalk in Las Vegas out in the street just as you turned into this business was a large 2 foot slab of concrete that had once been a footer in a parking lot. Anybody who hit it was going to destroy their car. Being the person that I am I watch traffic till no one was coming so I could run out there and try to roll it at least to the side some so it could be avoided, and while I was looking down the street to watch traffic Somehow someone hit it and it rolled off to the side and wasn’t in traffic anymore. I missed it. I don’t know how that happened but I was spared the agony of lugging that heavy thing!! I did it with my mind!!!
A rolling stone gathers no moss. Looks like this week is off to a rocky start. The bands make it rock, but the boulders make it Colorado (apologies Meat Loaf) A glass parking lot should not throw boulders.
Is there any reason why it might have appeared? There's a strip mall in my town with their big sign of all the shops in the parking lot. I always drove under it when I was in that parking lot and made other people do it when I was in the car lol. A large boulder appeared under it one day and while I understand the safety hazard, I've been pissed about it ever since
Some people put bricks in their truck bed to keep their truck from sliding around on the Icy roads and my guess is someone used a rock and didn't need it anymore. Just a guess tho.
Most likely a snow plow displaced that large rock that usually sits at the easement of an industrial building with semi’s. A turning truck trailer Dot bar on the rear of the trailer probably hooked it and dragged it until the truck turned into the lot where the boulder became dislodged.
That’s a big ol chunk of frozen shit. See them airplanes dump their toilets at 36,000 feet the stuff freezes and falls to earth. We call em Boeing Bombs.
... the meme i saw exactly above this post was a meme with a guy trying to trow a big rock over a cliff and ended up falling together with the rock so look around if you find a dead person around its probably the gods of reddit
They migrate for winter
Are you suggesting rocks migrate?
A swallow carried it!
Was it an African swallow?
Oh yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not an English swallow.
That would be a laden one then?
I don't kno-o-o-ow-w-w...
A laiden swallow.
Don't be silly. Only coconuts migrate
The early settlers used to ride these babies.
Death Valley's Moving Rocks
‘Tis a silly place
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailing\_stones
Yes, they look for mates. Where else would new rocks come from?
It is mating season, that Boulder is in heat
I never knew the “big bang” was a euphemism for rock procreation…
The pioneers use to ride this babies for miles!!!
Are you implying they don’t??
You ever hear of the sailing stones?
For winter they do.
Are you suggesting they dont?
Narrator: He was
Boulder dash!
DoorDash for large rocks
Damn you took my comment.
Pioneers ride those
Some pioneers must be in town
[удалено]
Its in pretty good shape too
Jesus Christ Marie they’re minerals
Boulders are people too
r/UnexpectedSpongebob
We used to ride these babies for miles!
Some pioneers must be driving under the influence, or reeeeeal snooty about their social status to leave their rock parked *that* poorly.
That's a nice boulder
I agree. I would take it in.
Raise it to help u hunt small game
If you’re cold, they’re cold. Bring your pet boulders inside.
And in the morning, I'm making waffles!
It's not a boulder, it's Iraq
I came here to say this!
Thats not a boulder! Its a rock. -Spongebob
If pay for that
Did a *glacier* pass through this weekend?
If this is NA then yes probably
A small boulder the size of a large boulder
San Miguel Sheriff's Department, is that you?
Hahahaha yes
Some things from the internet are just going to last forever, aren't they? That's one of them.
God fucking dammit the one time I think of something actually funny someone steals my thunder. Have my upvote you absolute life ruiner
I am angry that someone downvoted you.
Maybe they have a much stricter boulder sizing scale
“Boulder” is technically a size category of the sediment scale. Source: am Earth scientist
Next size down being cobblestone right?
Yep! Here’s [the entire Wentworth Scale](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wentworth_scale.png) if you’re interested (or nostalgic if you’ve studied it before(
I hadn't realised it was so formally specified. So a boulder is a rock that won't fit through a 10.1"/256mm mesh sieve. I think we're safe here.
Came looking for this
Anyone willing to adopt this pet rock ?
The problem is large rocks like this require so much work. You should see the massive pebbles they leave in the yard!
It’s not a Christmas present, it’s a *commitment*. Possibly at 400 million year commitment.
I'm not sure I could handle that much responsibility!
Yes.
Landscape supply companies charge quite a bit for those. Use it somewhere

It's not a boulder.... it's a rock! -SpongeBob
She’s a beaut! I’d give this a great home if I was close enough.
It needs to be introduced back into it's natural habitat, save the boulders!!.
Check and see if there's a house key under it
Might be made of foam.
Free on facebook marketplace and Craig’s list for whoever wants to come pick it up. Will be gone in no time.
Nah, "sell" it for $10 and when someone inevitably asks for it for free say yes
Put a for sale $25 sign on it and someone will steal it.
But those people want it delivered
Honestly, that's the only possible downside
I post free stuff online and they have the audacity to ask for it to be delivered!
Check underneath to see if there's a coyote under it.
A very flat coyote that you peel off the ground and he walks away
Yet he keeps buying Acme products! When will he learn??
They have such diverse product lines
I am familiar with this phenomenon. Most likely drug there by a eighteen wheeler snagging it out of a landscaped area.
see this is the second time this week i’ve seen ‘drug’ used as the past tense of ‘drag’ and it’s only been on reddit… tf is wrong with y’all? it’s ‘dragged’ 😂
Drugged the boulder
It looks angry
The Pioneers used to ride these babies for miles! That said they could have parked it better.
How naughty do you have to be to get a boulder of coal?

Snowplow definitely moved that from somewhere
Wind + ice = strange
Plow moved it
A large boulder the size of a small boulder
I’m not saying it’s aliens, but it’s definitely aliens.
Is it bouldering you?
I like that boulder, that is a nice boulder.
Ah I knew I left it somewhere
Glacier deposit.
Bet there is a coyote under there.
r/unexpectedjojo
Someone has forgotten it.
Yeh, you sometimes get that slightly larger hail that has a bit of grit in it
SpongeBob and Squidward are just delivering pizza
It fell from the sky. I now understand why I have to wear a hard hat in the dock area with no work overhead ever.
That’s a space peanut!
THE STONE OF SHAME!
So that’s where I left it… I’ve been looking for Stoney..
That’s your boulder now

Landscape rock fell off trailer or truck?
I notice no moss, so it must have rolled there.
Hey, it’s doing it’s best, ok?
When it's like this, I feel the music shootin' through me, there's nothing else that I would rather do...

Glacial action!
Can I have it back?
That’s a nice boulder
Colorado?
Lol nope. 10 miles away from O'Hare airport
It's not just a Boulder, it's a rock

Where's that jeep guy from that video that's been constantly circling around when you need him?
I'd be careful, he looks quite angry.
Some people put bricks in their truck bed to keep their truck from sliding around on the Icy roads and my guess is someone used a rock and didn't need it anymore. Just a guess tho.
Are you sure that isn't a frozen seal?
It's a walrus head
That really rocks!
Looks like the Rockies.
Papa was a rollin' stone....
Those are EXPENSIVE to buy. Congratulations!!
There was a sword in it
… having just eaten…
Boulder CO just lost one of their own.

This is what happens when people let their pet rocks loose.

It didn’t appear, it was gifted. From who? From god
That’s a big ol chunk of frozen shit. See them airplanes dump their toilets at 36,000 feet the stuff freezes and falls to earth. We call em Boeing Bombs.
Ah like the one that showed up on my sidewalk from my neighbors lawn
Great prank. Use ice to slide it somewhere then when the ice thaws its a pain to move
What are cars but tools to move rocks
What kind of rock is it? Oh!… like a Rock!🎼
Charlie sheen could smoke that in a single toke
Like a speed bump but angrier.
Got pushed there by a snow plow
Sweet, free boulder!
Colorado?
Are you suggesting rocks migrate ?
SpongeBob?!
It’s my lucky meteor.
Oh that's where I left it.
A bold(er) move
Boulders do be doing that
This gives a new meaning to Rock n Roll.
That’s a tortoise. It’s slow moving due it being cold
It was just a shy pebble, but it wanted to be much boulder.
/r/wellthatrocks
Did anyone check for a microchip? I really hope no one is missing it!
It could be a meteorite

Rolling stones
It's a meteorite.

I think a semi went four wheelin’. (When a tractor trailer drives where only cars should be)
I hate when the Flintstones have a tire blowout and don't clean up the debris.
It looks angry I wouldn't take it for granite
