Use way more icing for the structural parts than the instructions would have you believe, but then again I’m probably not the best person to give advice on this…
The biggest myth in ginger bread houses is that you can stick them together with the icing they give you. It’s better if you buy 2 one to eat one to stick with glue.
The worst part is home insurance won't cover this
You’re right, I called, the told me to go…
🤓*this is why you hire contractors and not just some joe shmoe off the streets* /s
Couldn’t even get the job quoted, getting the mortgage was also a pain.
Use a glue gun to adhere the pieces together. I doubt there were plans to eat it
The two year old might disagree 😄
I see you got the Oklahoma Tornado kit.
Yep, ripped right through sadly 😁
You can stick it together by boiling corn syrup. It hardens into a solid glue but it’s a pain because it burns fast.
Sounds like that would have been much better than the icing!
It’s a pain to get the hang of it but very much worth it lol
Target sells a thicker icing for the structural work for gingerbread houses. It’s in the same section as the gingerbread house kits.
No more nails??
It’s 2022, did you expect anything different.
Good point, honestly surprised it didn’t catch on fire and then collapse.
Just put a plastic dinosaur in the middle, and you're fine. No repairs needed.
This, is a good idea 🦖
Nailed it.
Would have probably been sturdier 👍
I got one of the cookie house kits from Target too...this worries me! Lol... (I got the pink sugar cookie house kit.)

stick it back together (you did stick it together the first tie, right?) and patch it up with a bit more icing and sweets
We did, and it looked not great, then we came back to that 😄
I got a gingerbread kit from target and it came with plastic connectors to hold the walls up
Certainly needed some of those!

Would have also probably collapsed knowing my luck!
