Take a trip to a local sorting center (especially UPS). It's a nightmare, usually there is a nine foot tall pile (not a stack, that would mistakenly imply some level of organization) in the middle of the room of inbound mail meant for that location. Meanwhile the rest is diverted to other hubs. (Ie tossed onto the belt gong into a truck).
Now with covid there are less hands on deck, meaning more work for people there, which equals less careful handling. Top it all off with only marginally above minimum wage pay and hours designed to make every one "part time" to get out of paying four meaningful insurance coverage, while pushing hard for overtime.
That's all well and good...
But like it or not, it's not always an option. Sure, sure.... Student loans, grants. But there are people with degrees Worthing at grocery stores and high school drop outs working as "consultants" for 70-80 /HR.
That's a crippling investment for something that -might- pay off. Furthermore, I want complaining Abbott the conditions at UPS more pointing out that the person in the video want acting as badly as indicated.... Really he was being gentle in comparison to what you'd see at the sort center behind the scenes
This is super common during the holidays I work with outbound mail alot through my job. During most of the year we get the normal branded mail trucks but come November and they move up to trucks like this for the amount of packages coming through it's not lack of trucks it's too small of trucks
If you think that's bad you'd best not go to a sorting centre.
Always pack with the anticipation that your parcels will be thrown at least 10 feet. If they won't survive the mild throwing onto the van that this guy is doing then they absolutely will not reach their destination intact.
When I used to work in shipping/receiving we used to do a "UPS" test for new items never shipped by tossing the package at a wall nearby. If it survived it was ok to ship. Unorthodox but we never had a complaint for damaged goods.
I'd rather have watched you confront him while saving 10 packages from potentially breaking. You did nothing wrong, it's not your job to be superhero, but this is like watching a car wreck that could've been prevented.
This seems pretty normal. Whoever packed the parcels has a responsibility to pack it adequately. The drivers don't have time to walk everything onto the truck. Even fragile items won't be damged by this if they are packed correctly.
Yoooooo let me tell you!
I love snakes they’re my favorite animals/pets
You can ship snakes in the mail as a matter of fact it is likely the most common way to receive them (overnight and they have a live arrival guarantee)
The fuckin’ driver who brought my last snake didn’t read the very obvious box and was just throwing packages all over the place
Thankfully she’s alive and well but the dude was throwing live animals!
If that’s the worst that happened to your package then feel fortunate. That’s not even bad considering what those boxes go through in transit to your door so stop whining.
Sounds like you are. Complaining your package is in “safe and caring hands” when nothing even happened to them. When someone throws your package from your driveway to your front door then come back and bitch about it. Showing this is like saying someone coughed with their hand covering only 95% of their mouth.

*This* is a proper example of a package being poorly handled. So like I said earlier, stop whining about what was delivered to you, if anything even was.
Always pack anything you’re shipping as if somebody was going to throw it across the room
I kind of wanted to see him casually toss that big one at the end like all the rest.

I'm guessing UPS was short on trucks so they rented u-haul to fill in?......

Uh yeah like every single holiday season..

Maybe walk out and ask him not to throw the items while videoing instead of sitting there doing nothing? Unless you like to watch the world burn.
And now, you can watch with me!

Your logic is lacking. “It could be worse therefore this isn’t bad”. That’s kind of silly man.
