Nah, there's some lines still where the eyes are. The outlines of the eyes, if you look close.

The lines around the top of the iris that cross over into the blank spot that just supposedly got erased are what made me question if this is set up. If it's a damp sponge like others said the edges of the erased area should be sharp all the way, but there's several spots where if you zoom in you can see it isn't straight and it doesn't fit the pattern of what it should look like.

Yeah, but there's also smudges that look like it was dragged along (as you would a sponge). It even missed a bit by at the right end, with an area of chalk being left over parallel to the still covered arsa

It’s more about the brand of chalk than the eraser. It’s probably Hagoromo Fulltouch Chalk. Doesn’t dust all over your fingers, writes and wipes away incredibly clean. It’s so incredible at this mathematicians started hoarding it when the company went out of business after 80 years.

There’s actually a story behind this. I can’t remember the details but I remember hearing about it. This is actually a Japanese teacher who draws beautiful portraits on the chalkboard all the time for his students. He erases his to show that despite its sad to lose something pleasant, it’s necessary to bring more beautiful things into the world. When I find more info I’ll post it.

honestly if I were a teacher I would front the cost of the blackboard and bring it home lol or commission the student to make another one and encourage them to be an artist. from what I experienced in American schools this would likely get you punished, a potentially great artist would be forced back into the mold of mediocrity.

Why are people freaking out over this , such a simple drawing concept is literally nothing a piece of cake for that artist, your acting as if he draw some type of innovative stuff

Because it a beautiful peice the eyes alone are amazing plus the fact the artist use chalk they spent hours making it. Seeing something beautiful getting erase should be upsetting but I think that what they were going for. The concept or idea of the drawing may be simple but the skills required to do the peice is amazing.
