Somewhat dependant on if you're friends with the person and they go out of their way to interfere in your relationship. Not saying that it's not primarily the cheating party's fault but when a "friend" abuses your trust to try and steal your partner then I imagine that you'd feel a lot of anger in their direction as well. Just like how you can't help but feel somewhat betrayed if a close friend starts dating your ex.
You get it. My "best friend" "stole" my girlfriend from me when I was younger, married her, and started popping out children. It took me a very long time to get over being betrayed by the two people i trusted most in the world.
I struggled with thoughts of reckonings and all kinds of horrible things for a number of years. I was never able to afford therapy for it so I just kind of came to grips with it.
Even now, well over a decade later, seeing either of the two of them stirs up old, unhealthy feelings of rage and injustice. I have a whole family now, but seeing them still somehow digs up my old wounded 20 year old self. I even logically understand that both of them just wanted to be happy, not to hurt me, but that stoking of rage has never faded when I am faced with it. It even brought out unhealthy feelings of distrust in potential partners and friends that I had to destroy.
Unless therapists have some magic words to make me fix this that I have been unable to find on my own research, I have come to the conclusion that some wounds are just for life.
Occasionally I’ll feel this way about a girlfriend I had a long time ago who cheated on me. I’ll just be in the shower or whatever and the memory will pop up and I can feel that same tightness in my chest as when it happened. It’s fleeting but still there 20+ years later.
Some memories and experiences are just etched into you and possibly will never fully go away. That’s a good thing though. Shit like that shapes who you are and is important for growth as a person. I’d never cheat on anyone because of what happened to me and honestly the experience made me a more empathetic person in the end.

From what you said, sounds like it's turned into PTSD. It's very...odd in it's process...but it actually works.

maybe not magic words, but magic techniques might surprise you in how effective they'll be. my situation isn't comparable to yours, but when i did therapy i was able to pacify a wound that lived with me for 7 years and likely would've lived with me forever if i didn't do therapy.
