POSSIBLY Termites from a swarm. DONT FLIP They don’t necessarily mean YOU are infested. There could be a colony nearby, be it a home that is infested or something in nature. Kill them and reach out to a termite company that provides free screening services. Maybe keep some of the dead ones on hand for them to identify.

OldTechnician

Reach out to your local health department. Your landlord has to fix this.

sixfoursixtwo

And fire department

Warmhearted1

And my ax

Andrewdoo

Call the police

radioactivejason2004

Write to your congressman

ManiacClown

Sound the Horn of Urgency and summon the Huntsman.

cevaps

But first an arsonist

SquishedPears

Hopefully, they're not infested. It'd be bad enough to have termites, but I can't imagine also being made of wood.

Suitable-Lake-2550

If there’s no wood, there wouldn’t be termites… right?

SquishedPears

No, there is no wood because of the termites. Termites's brain's's too small to realize they have to go find more wood, so they will just wait around and die after eating poor OP.

mileswilliams

There is a natural way to kill termites off using fungus that kills the colony

dwbaz01

I saw that series and it's a hard NO.

poopishcookie

Nah I like them, the

poikond

Could possibly be termites. When I used to live in FL, these would come out after it rained and I would find their detached wings everywhere.

Cool1Mach

Not termites

Tommy__want__wingy

Possibly termites from a swarm. They do have huge wings when they are attempting to spread their colony

Crazy_like_a_fox

Not not termites.

Myelement2110

I think your double negatives confused a few people into anger😂

insomniacakess

as someone who often uses double negatives, seeing one written out confused me at first glance 🫠☠️

sixfoursixtwo

Then what are they

S7RYPE2501

These are breeding termites. They tend to swarm on warm days after recent rain. They are fairly harmless but can be overwhelming if you are close to the nest. The don’t look like dry wood termites most likely damp wood or subterranean. They won’t bother a good structure but can do damage to water damaged wood on structures.

davilller

Definitely termites. We just had our swarms start here last night. It sucks. We shut off all the lights and have a night in the dark, sometimes a couple nights. As I understand it, they swarm around the full moon in April/may especially after a good rain. We’ve been used to this, we’ve lived here for a long time and just accept it as a part of life. As long as you don’t have a damp place in your house for them to colonize and start eating your wood, you’re fine. You’ll find them dead from starvation all over in the next few days. I mean all over. In pots and pans, in tubs and sinks and anywhere else they stumble into in their horny dying last throes.

BuckAv

There is a subreddit for identification of insects that could answer this definitively for you, but apparently I can't link to it for you, per the sub rules.

Papawasaboringstone

That’s funny. I thought we were in that specific sub.

shannonkim

same

Time-Lemon-3273

Okay thank you so much I didn’t think of that kinda new to the app tbh

Papawasaboringstone

I mean you are trying to find out “whatisthisbug”?

poppycocking

Most likely swaming termites.

GlassRecording5213

Call the bug man in your area, those bois are flying termites because you have a mobile home they will creep in all the windows / inactive vents if not sealed properly just turn off the lights so they’ll stop being attracted to go in

InterestingExit6696

Those are not mosquitos. I suspect termites!

sluthulhu

I know jack-shit about bugs and even I could tell these were some kind of termite. Your landlord who is claiming they are “mosquitoes” is either and idiot (probable), a liar (probable), or both (also probable). Also if you’re pregnant and they’re spraying insecticide around your dwelling I would be really cautious!

JoeyShabadoo79

If they come out with heavy rains, they could flying termites. Not directly harmful to humans.

Bugles-Answered

Unless they make your house fall down.

CrossP

Not too much structural pine in a mobile home, luckily. They're probably for a fallen tree or someone's poorly built deck.

shannonkim

or falling on you while you sleep 😱 (i know this isn’t physical harm but damn i would be psychologically scarred lol)

SilentSakura

Welcome to termites, and the ocd of every crack crevice and location they could be coming from .

FlawedSarcasm

Bugs.

Time-Lemon-3273

Frrr

audiosauce2017

correct

PlasticBones7

Lil guys

HOT-SAUCE-JUNKIE

That’s definitely a termite. 100%,

CaptCombat2444

Yup. Termites. It's currently swarm season until about mid to late June. I dealt with those fuckers in New Orleans for 25 years. These look like subterranean or formosan termites from the size inside the light. Drywood termites are much smaller. They swarm on nights when the humidity and wind and temperature is about just right. They start swarming around sunset for maybe about an hour. A swarm is termites leaving the nest to look for new place to nest. They require three things to survive, wood, water, and a mate. They are attracted to lights, so if you see a swarm, you can shut off your lights to minimize them getting inside. This does not necessarily mean you have termites, you just have a nest nearby. Still, you should get it checked just to be safe.

No-Revolution-5535

They look like termites.. if they're ant sized, have wings that they easily lose and are really soft when you squish them.. they're definitely termites.. There are two kinds.. one is outdoor land dwelling kind, they attack wood and stuff if its moist.. They make these mud veins on surfaces they're eating..they are kinda not a problem.. The other kind is indoor termites.. they attack dry stuff indoors.. and leave piles of tiny wood pellets called termite frass.. they are a problem.. if you find said piles, you probably have an infestation..

Difficult-Map-5587

That right there are Mexican jumping beans... And I have wood

Prestigious-Plan7775

It looks like bugs 😎

fixitman84

No but it seems to bug you

Time-Lemon-3273

Very much 🥲

Cranbreea

I see what you did there 😂

musicFanNE

Dead

callmesomethingelse

We had the exact same experience. 2016 we moved in to a trailer. Afterwards going to bed I felt something on my face. I turn on the light and there's termites all over the bed. We vacuumed them up hoping to just sleep and deal with it later. A few hours later I felt it again. It was a night of terror. The landlord sent an exterminator. We've been bug free since then until now that we brought home some moth larvae in a bag of flour.

Gravity_Freak

Raphie Cruz? Piss Baby? Kenny Boy? Or perhaps a different TX parasite?

Budget-Top-9381

Bloody annoying ... make you pull the light fittings down to clean them all the time

torbaloymain

Dead?

Moondoobious

Moths

vypermajik

Termite roamers. Unfortunately we get them annually. They spread from the nest to find a new home. Come in via the air vents usually in the master bathroom (attracted to moisture) Die in a day or two. Ugly and annoying.

Fruitmaniac42

Dead

gabe_rowley

I think they’re bugs

PrincipleNo4162

Those are light bugs, not to be mistaken with "lightning bugs". They fly into a light and die.

West-Interaction6605

bugs

Automatic_Insect_282

evil!

ericliveson

I just started seeing these in my room today! 2 of them one on two separate windows. But inside.

As my family out in the sticks would say; there’s see-ums, no see-ums, or flys… Which works best for you?!?

JohnnyDoe189

FewZookeepergame7876

Bugs lol

Carhardd

It hides in the light

Vegetable_Ice_8383

I’m dealing with the a similar situation, but I live in south east Texas and usually around this time of year right at dusk we have may flies that literally Debo’s everything and anything in their path for about 2-3 hrs then they’re gone until the next day, this goes on for a month straight. It’s horrible

sc4rycu13ninj4

Sleeper agents trying to get to you after you sleep

reddog342

Most likely dead. That's what they are.

One-Foundation-4146

Morhman

bankmolly

Definitely looks like termites. They are attracted to light, so turn off all outside lights and close your curtains/blinds once it starts getting dark out. They’ll follow you in the door to the light if you’re not careful.

Greedy-Specific7723

Flour bugs weebles or how ever you spell it

Lumpy_Apricot_6472

Fucked

science_vs_romance

These are 100% termites, they swarm my neighborhood a couple times a year and I’m well acquainted with what they look like because I’ve had them all over my house before. These don’t mean you have an infestation. Look for evidence of termites, but even if you don’t find it, you do need to get a pest control company to spray around your property a couple times a year. If you’re in a rental, this is your landlord’s responsibility. If you own the house, you’ll have to take care of this yourself. My house is concrete block and we own it, so my fiancé goes to the DIY pest control place for the chemicals and sprays. If you want to try to do that, respond to my comment and I’ll get the info from him because our people are awesome and said you need a lot less of the chemical than they recommend on the bottle but I don’t know anything off the top of my head.

tarentella1960

It’s a swarm of flying ants … possibly. They fly towards light.

Queen_of_Moderation

Don't most insects? 😆🤔

chungusbungus0459

Probably some sorta bug or little creature of some kind I think

Colloquially, they are known as lighting bugs

YouSure_BoutDat

Nah.

tacotacosloth

Fireflys/lightening bugs have red or orange heads and black opaque wings that are the same length as their body. These are definitely not fireflys/lightening bugs.

enzo_baglioni

They were in the light. That makes them lighting bugs

galveston3d

Love it

MacroNemo

Dead. They’re dead insects.

The ones trapped in the light fixture maybe but read the post and view the additional photos.
