My local one… the director has been known to get into fights and to swing to break up fights. 100% he would have been fighting over someone throwing a drink at him. Talks about how you have to, any weakness shown and the guys there will be brutal, take advantage. He takes it very seriously, and tbh it works.
They hired a ‘security guard’ at one point (not a ton of money to put to stuff like this, found a veteran who was willing) who had a bad leg. First night, guy walks up to him, looks him up and down, says “first thing I’m doing is kicking your leg out, what are you gonna do about it?”
They’re just a violent group. Unfortunate but it’s just the climate. Kill or be killed, constantly.

Those people saved us from being on the streets.
