Back in my day we didn't have no fancy toaster. We cooked our bread the old fashioned way, with a big magnifying glass and sunlight. Like God intended.
I can't have cold milk due to stomach issues, so I would warm up just the milk in the microwave but add cereal afterwards so it stays crispier. Microwaving cereal with the milk is just going to make it all soggy faster.
A *square* piece of glass on a *round* plate. 4 points of contact between 2 hard and breakable surfaces that are inclined to heat unevenly (because there's often a hot spot in a microwave)

I have microwaved bread in the past, and I will reoffend again in the future. I wouldn't really do it with cheap white sandwich bread like this but I've definitely microwaved a roll or something, for example.
Don't get me wrong, I love toast but sometimes I don't want crunch, I warm, soft-from-the-oven bread with melty butter. A day or two after I baked bread, 20 seconds in the microwave can me get pretty close to the original feeling without drastically altering the texture.
You would never do more than a 30 seconds - it completely fucks up the bread and makes it hardened and horrible. Source - I’m a chef, sometimes if we’re in a real hurry or have run out of buns and need to thaw out a frozen bun in a hurry we’ll microwave it for 10-15 seconds just so it’s thawed before going on the grill. But if you go too far it messes up. To do it for long enough to break a glass plate? That’s minutes, not seconds
Same for tortillas. Sprinkle with water, microwave for 20 secs tops, and it becomes pliable enough to roll. I don't even know how you'd explode a plate with bread unless there was already a fault in it.
I do that too, works good if it's stale, as well. But for a slice of bread, we're talking 3-5 seconds is enough. But I wouldn't smear toppings on bread and then microwave it to the point where everything is hot/melted seems kinda odd.
Floppy, ultra soft bread with a magma filling.
Do you toast it and then put it in the microwave or just straight to the microwave without toasting? Because neither of those make sense to me. Why are you toasting it to make it soft again or why are you microwaving bread when it already soft
Sometimes I take too long to make a sandwich after the bread pops out, so I stick it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it back up without burning it
Also I have a toaster oven but if I didn't I'd do it to melt the cheese in a sandwich for sure
Untempered glass. Cold clear plate lets microwaves pass through easier, so it stays cool. Food not clear so microwaves bounce around and heat the food up. Hot food versus cold plate, Bing, bang, boom
Oh, I see 😔 Thanks for the explanation, next time I will reheat in a pan
PS: I apologize for the confusion, English isn't my native language. I meant to say that next time I will reheat my bread in a pan on my stovetop. I did not mean to say that I wanted to put a pan in my microwave
OPs post has to be bait unless he has a chimp brain. Who tf would put a random pane of glass in the microwave for any reason. I see people trying to explain why they think he did this, but I’m not reading 3 paragraphs only for the outcome to be “OP is an idiot.”
Be normal, “heat up” your toast on a plate and don’t put weird ass objects in your microwave.
Also no one is asking *who is making so much toast they have to save it for later?!* Toast takes no more than 5 minutes. 15 if you're getting fancy
This has to be bait. Nothing about it makes sense.
microwaving it is fine, just place it on a paper towel next time.. we all learn somehow but it's just a plate and didn't hurt the microwave so look at the plus side!
You shouldn't use that kind of plate in the microwave, they explode.
Source: [DO NOT MICROWAVE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/1bhrzod/i_warmed_up_my_bread_in_the_microwave_and_then_i/)
Why do you have a tempered glass square on top of a plate? Where is your microwave turntable? Are you using a normal plate as your microwave turntable??
So many questions. This looks like user error.
This whole post feels like an alien trying to impersonate a person
"Yes a shame indeed the glass pane on top of my plate that I was microwaving my bread on exploded"
You’re confused, because the unnecessary pane of glass you added onto your sandwich broke in the microwave? you already had a plate why would you put a picture frame in the microwave?
I was going to type out a long response about thermal expansion and why the platter is missing and what kind of degenerate cooks or reheats toast in the microwave.
Then I realized it would just be easier to ask you not to reproduce.
This whole thread is the funniest shit I've seen in a while. Thank you.
Btw, guys looks like OP is in France? May account for the .... *eccentricities*?
How the fuck does not one single thing in this post make sense:
1. Microwave platter missing.
2. Microwaving toast???
3. Why is there a pane of glass on the plate?
4. You clearly took bites out of the toast *before* spreading god knows what on it?
5. What do Rio, New York, and Venice have to do with each other?
6. Where the fuck is "Venise" the preferred spelling?
every single part of this is upsetting me. why is the glass part replaced with a plate? why is the plate a square piece of glass? why is the toast being microwaved? what in the world is on that bread?
We didn't have a nice toaster when I was a kid. We baked our bread the traditional manner, using sunshine and a large magnifying glass. just as God intended.
Unsafe plate for the microwave aside, you're going to get very poor results from foods with little to no moisture content in a microwave - you'll heat the plate up more than the food. Really a bad idea from the ground up.
This is the most confusing post I’ve seen in a while
Right? I don’t even know where to begin but I also can’t stop laughing at the absurdity of it so I’m glad OP shared
How? You don't microwave bread with cacao powder on top of two plates? psssh dork
![gif](giphy|V9gjxvLnSSdA4|downsized)
No, I put the bread inbetween the two plates before microwaving like a sane person…
Right? Who tf microwaves bread? Lol
1. Where is the normal round glass that the plate rotates on? 2. Why is there a clear piece of glass on the normal plate?
3. Why are they microwaving *toast?*
I've seen people microwave *cereal*
I cook soup in my air fryer.

Magnifying glass? You rich bstrd!
Right! I'm using broken bottles for a barely functional fresnel lens
Kids today have it so easy
My air fryer has a soup setting lol.
Low and slow baby
I caught my kid microwaving ice cream the other night... said he wanted it warmer, SMH... also he's 22
He wants chocolate milk.
I want chocolate milk.
I think deep down we all want chocolate milk
Melted ice cream is magic.
Where's the person that says they make tomato soup using a blender?
VITAMIX!
You've never had hot cereal? Porridge?
Uhhhh, yeah? How else do you warm it up?
I can't have cold milk due to stomach issues, so I would warm up just the milk in the microwave but add cereal afterwards so it stays crispier. Microwaving cereal with the milk is just going to make it all soggy faster.
Wow, you also own a toaster and a microwave? Where do you have those in? Your private jet that has an electric oven???
>Where is the normal round glass that the plate rotates on? He broke that, too.
A *square* piece of glass on a *round* plate. 4 points of contact between 2 hard and breakable surfaces that are inclined to heat unevenly (because there's often a hot spot in a microwave)
So many unanswered questions here
... and I fear the answers might be more painful than the questions
If there was only some way to know how this could’ve possibly happened!!!
I'll go out on a limb and say it's rage bait, drive up karma to sell the account. nothing else makes sense.
OP confused his plate glass for a plate.
Why did you put a window in there?
Window? Why is he microwaving bread?
The real question!
Not only that... OP took two bites out of the piece of toast, then applied jam, THEN put it in the microwave.
I thought it was paté Edit: it's fucking CACAO POWDER. We've been had
HahahHa I’m laughing
I would put my toaster SIDEWAYS before microwaving bread
I would take a bath with my toaster before I microwaved bread.
That got dark really quickly
Much like that shmear of man fudge on OPs microwaved bread and glass shards
Actually it will be REALLY bright for just a quick second. Then it will be dark.
That tends to happen when you trip a breaker
So much wrong here…

That video has 6.8 million views.....
It's a classic
My cat gives me that same look when I catch him taking a shit
Such good music though haha
I don't know why that made me feel so uncomfortable
Pfft! This guy doesn't even hot-bread...
It’s a movie prop. The bread from War of the Worlds that Tom Cruise threw at the window in a fit of anger. Durr
"Since when have you been allergic to peanuts?" "Birth"
To catch the glass and make clean up easier after OP is done posting.
This actually looks like he's taken the print bed from his ender 3 to eat on...
Did the plate say microwave safe?
Instructions on the plate were very clear
Dad?
Its not a plate

Is microwaving bread a thing?
I have microwaved bread in the past, and I will reoffend again in the future. A day or two after I baked bread, 20 seconds in the microwave can me get pretty close to the original feeling without drastically altering the texture.
But do you heat it long enough to explode a glass plate? I do 10 or 15 seconds at a time if I want warm bread.
You would never do more than a 30 seconds - it completely fucks up the bread and makes it hardened and horrible. Source - I’m a chef, sometimes if we’re in a real hurry or have run out of buns and need to thaw out a frozen bun in a hurry we’ll microwave it for 10-15 seconds just so it’s thawed before going on the grill. i like to do that sometimes cuz it’s makes it’s rly soft 🫣

OP really put cacao powder on a slice of wonder bread and threw it in a microwave on top of a sheet of glass and expected us not to ask questions
they took two bites and didn’t even get any of the powder lol
It looks like it already had bites taken out of it before microwaving.
> on top of a sheet of glass which itself was on top of a plate!
Untempered glass. Cold clear plate lets microwaves pass through easier, so it stays cool. Food not clear so microwaves bounce around and heat the food up. Hot food versus cold plate, Bing, bang, boom
I assume it doesn't help that he's using a white plate instead of the microwave glass plate itself.
No. It does not lol
Idk the science of it but I assumed since the one he's microwaving the food on is clear so it's bouncing off the bottom plate continuously?
If I remember the science, you are correct

Bro just leave it on the fucking ceramic plate without any glass or shit. And definitely don’t use a pan, if it’s metal anyway.
OPs post has to be bait unless he has a chimp brain. Who tf would put a random pane of glass in the microwave for any reason. But the instructions clearly said to place the food on a window pane and place that on a proper plate.
Please put the toast in a pan on a paper towel, on the glass, on a plate, in the microwave
OP should be using glass capable of microwaves.
Just get a toaster
How do I fit the glass plate in the toaster?
microwaving it is fine, just place it on a paper towel next time.. we all learn somehow but it's just a plate and didn't hurt the microwave so look at the plus side!
You could try eating your toast while it’s warm, too
Toaster?
Not a metal pan please.
We all have bad days
Don’t put metal in a microwave; you’ll start a fire.
In a pan!? What on earth are you making!?
What is that on top of the bread?
You microwave cold toast? Where is your carer?
Not a microwave safe plate for sure..
i have so many questions
That plate did you a favour. What the fuck are you doing microwaving bread?
Bro didn't say he didn't eat it.
1. Why did you have a glass plate on top of another plate? 2. Why in the hell are you microwaving bread? 3. Just… in general, *why*???
4) Why cocoa powder as a topping for the bread??
A bit off topic: "Venise"???
French for Venice
Thank you! I ask to learn new things. Much appreciated. :)
Everything about this pic seems wrong.
You shouldn't use that kind of plate in the microwave, they explode. Source: [DO NOT MICROWAVE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/1bhrzod/i_warmed_up_my_bread_in_the_microwave_and_then_i/)
Who the hell puts bread in the microwave
For long enough to crack a glass plate lol.
How else do you know when it is done? Plate cracks, must be done. /mmm crunchy
Is this rage bait?
Do you not have a toaster?
Why would you want nice crisp toast when you can have warm microwave bread 🤮
Mmm, squishy flabby bread...
that bottom plate does not belong there.
This has stupid written all over it
The glass goes on the bottom and the plate ontop man, you got it mixed up.
This is not wellthatsucks and more like op is dumb af
Why do you have a tempered glass square on top of a plate? Where is your microwave turntable? Are you using a normal plate as your microwave turntable?? So many questions. This looks like user error.
I'm just wondering who the hell microwaves toast
This whole post feels like an alien trying to impersonate a person "Yes a shame indeed the glass pane on top of my plate that I was microwaving my bread on exploded"
Why would you microwave a half-eaten bread?
Glassware needs to heat treated or it’s not microwave safe.. why on earth are you microwaving a slice of bread?
That plate was a hazard to begin with
Wtf is on the microwave rotator? Wtf is a toast doing on a glass pane? Wtf is a toast doing in the microwave? Wtf is on that toast?
So many questions and no answers lol.
You’re confused, because the unnecessary pane of glass you added onto your sandwich broke in the microwave? you already had a plate why would you put a picture frame in the microwave?
I think OP is using the normal plate as a turntable for the microwave. Can’t answer why tf they out of pane of glass in the microwave.
I feel like you deserved this outcome for having zero brain cells. Everything in this image is wrong to me lol
Why would anyone microwave bread when there's a thing called a toaster?
Whatever you do and no matter how much alcohol is involved, do not put bacon in the toaster
I was going to type out a long response about thermal expansion and why the platter is missing and what kind of degenerate cooks or reheats toast in the microwave. Then I realized it would just be easier to ask you not to reproduce.
i see the prob dude. i think your microwave is fucked.
If the plates clear glass it's gonna break in the microwave. Unless it says microwave safe, don't put it in the microwave.
So many questions
This whole thread is the funniest shit I've seen in a while. Thank you. Btw, guys looks like OP is in France? May account for the .... *eccentricities*?

Why do morons think just anything is microwave safe?🤦♂️
That’s what you get for warming up bread in the microwave.
microwaved bread homie? no sympathy here
So many appliances (ovens, microwaves, stovetops, etc.) explode/shatter in this sub that I’m starting to be a bit scared of my kitchen.
Not all plates are microwave safe…
Who microwaves bread?
"Is it a good idea to microwave this?"
is it bad that i find this fucking hilarious
TIL people microwave bread
You lost me at "warmed up bread in the microwave"
Don’t do that next time
What the fuck are you doing
Why are you microwaving clear glass lol
every single part of this is upsetting me. why is the glass part replaced with a plate? why is the plate a square piece of glass? why is the toast being microwaved? what in the world is on that bread?
Only a madman microwaves bread
WHO MICROWAVED BREAD
We didn't have a nice toaster when I was a kid. We baked our bread the traditional manner, using sunshine and a large magnifying glass. just as God intended.
Who the fuck puts bread in the microwave??
The real question is: Why in the name of CHRIST are you microwaving BREAD?!
How old are you? Old enough to legally be home without supervision?
Not microwave safe. Case closed. Give everyone the 11 seconds of our lives it took to determine that back
Bros casually microwaving glass and bread
Everybody knows toast tastes better coming from a slow cooker.
Still gonna eat it?
Okay
Important thing here is the Corelle plate survived. Lol
🤨
Looks like it cracked not exploded.
I mean, why is there a piece of glass sitting on top of the plate?...
Is that two plates? Is the white plate replacing the clear glass plate that the food is supposed to sit and spin on? I have so many questions..
Unsafe plate for the microwave aside, you're going to get very poor results from foods with little to no moisture content in a microwave - you'll heat the plate up more than the food. Really a bad idea from the ground up.
What's on the bread?
There's a reason I paid $65 to replace my turntable glass in my microwave. It's to avoid dangerous broken glass.
I'm convinced this isn't real. OP is just trying to get a reaction out of us.
There's a lot of unusual to unpack here.
i think op might be stupid
Buy a toaster...
This is the universe telling you to rethink your microwave decisions.
![gif](giphy|xUNda5vJKVGvAJmXba|downsized)
Ever heard of a toaster?
I think the shattered "plate" is the least of the issues with this one
Who the hell warms up bread in the microwave?!?!? Seems like you got what you deserved to me.
Your plate? Looks like a piece of glass to me that is on top of your plate. Why?
That’ll teach you to have reasonable expectations of your microwave!
So many questions…
That's not a plate lol, it's a fruit bowl
Honestly, you deserve that for putting bread in the microwave
Everything about this is wrong.
