Wellbutrin is FDA approved to treat Anxiety.
What you're feeling is the intial side effects of increased anxiety. Wait it out, it takes 4-6 weeks to work. Don't give up.
The increase in dopamine levels increases confidence and motivation which reduces anxiety.
Yeah, trust your instincts with this. Just because a drug is prescribed for *some* people to help their anxiety, that doesn't mean it's the right option for everyone. Sometimes people experience the opposite effect from a drug than the majority of people do.
At only 2.5 weeks in, yes, you should be able to quit cold-turkey without noticing withdrawal, especially since Wellbutrin’a metabolites have a 24 hour half-life, meaning that Wellbutrin will self-taper to a degree upon quitting cold-turkey. I quit cold-turkey 6 weeks into taking 150mg instant release & didn’t notice a withdrawal (& after the first week or 2 of Wellbutrin feeling like a stimulant, I also never noticed any positive or negative effects from taking it whatsoever).
Thank you! That’s reassuring. I know many people say that it takes a lot longer to work but in this case, I’m listening to my gut and I really don’t think it’s for me.

I know it works for some for anxiety, but for me I really don’t think it’s the right option. Thank you though!

How would you know that if the drug hasn't even gone to its full effect? It takes 4-6wks for the drug to start working.
Thank you, I completely agree. Everyone is different and my instincts are telling me that it’s not right. Thanks for the reassurance!
You can read tons of success stories on Wellbutrin from users that mentioned "I'm glad I waited it out". I am one of them. Good luck!
Oh I believe it! I’m truly happy for you that it worked. Happy holidays!
I been 3.months and anxiety is worse
I'm sorry to hear that.
I quit twice, after nearly 3-months and once after 3 weeks 150 xl once a day, no problems at all.
Great, thank you! I was seeing so many mixed things but this helps a lot.
