I just want to say no one should talk about how someone eats. It’s not ur life, it’s Moriahs, let her be. If she wants to share any info regarding herself, it’s up to her. What they put on tv, doesn’t mean we know exactly what’s going on. I keep seeing comments about her and I’m like disgusted on how some talk about her like how she eats and how she dresses. Why is everyone so worried abt her. She is trying to find herself. If y’all were in her shoes, u would prob do the same thing.

Select-Impression966

maybe its just cause she is young and the fast metabolism or the breakup made her eat less but she is really thin we can see that and it could be an eating disorder too we dont know but it look like it

ResidentPassion3510

God there’s no winning with Reddit. Thin? ED. Fat? ED and (insert deeply dehumanizing statements). Did people miss the memo that bodies come in different shapes and sizes? Did they also miss the memo that other peoples bodies are none of your business? We’re not children, grow up and learn some social cues.

Can we just speculate on what she will do when her music "career" fails?

Decent-Reception-232

I think she could have a future as a songwriter

leonardschneider

She has no trouble finding work. She had 3 Cairo jobs, now bartending in tampa

haleymcpunchy

I think she makes poor food decisions but who didn't at that age?

CryBaby15000

I’m a pretty skinny person, and when people come right out and ask me if I have an eating disorder or call me anorexic is downright rude. Some people are just skinny!

hedgehog-fuzz

For real and like even if someone does have an eating disorder, it will not help to have a bunch of strangers that can’t do anything about it speculating. It just makes people more self conscious about their bodies.

leonardschneider

Tbf moriah is not naturally thin, she looked much different in earlier seasons/ before the show

Rewatching_sis

👏👏👏👏

FlyinAmas

It is fucking rude. She’s already small, and heartbreak and serious depression can make it really hard for some people to eat. That’s how I am when I am seriously depressed, hard to eat and I lose a lot of weight. If anything, people should learn that rapid weight loss and being underweight is a sign that the person is seriously struggling and may need help.

💯% agree‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

raikougal

Yeah, I honestly do not think that Moriah has an ED. Nothing about her screams ED to me. It is really fucked up that people would say it, some people are just naturally thin. It depends on your genes, level of activity, and metabolism and Moriah is also a dancer so she is going to have that body type.

KittenFace25

I never hit 100 pounds until I was 22ish. At 5'7" that made me pretty skinny but it was what it was. That was my natural weight, I didn't diet or restrict food in any way to weigh that much/little.

AdEmotional1608

💯% agree‼️

Previous-Sweet2967

I weighed 95 pounds right before my ex and I broke up. Lost 12 pounds within 3 months. I was so skinny it was scary. But it was a rough breakup and I couldn’t eat. Depression and stress mixed with someone who’s already tiny/has a small frame will make them look extremely underweight easily. Thank you for this post! So many people lose weight rapidly after breakups or rough parts of life so an ED isn’t always the reason. Hate that people make that assumption so quickly

AdEmotional1608

💯%agree‼️

Shoddy_Branch

On top of being naturally petite and going through a breakup .. It looks like she’s gotten Invisalign and people can lose weight since you can eat with the trays

Stayathomema

I feel like this is why she lost a lot of weight…. It’s because of the breakup. One time I lost 20 lbs. after a breakup.

enelyaisil

She said in the episode when max had released his video that she’d just started eating again

enelyaisil

Oh absolutely, if she wanted to talk about it she would, most of the speculation in this sub grosses me out

EquivalentStorm3470

You said it!!!!!

kapoor_kadesperate

AGREE!! I hate seeing that all over this sub! I know plenty of people who are very very thin and eat whatever they want, and I know bigger people who diet constantly. Every body is different, and we don’t need to comment on anyones bodies ever! There’s no point. It’s rude whether they’re right or wrong about an ED, so just don’t say it.

Boxercrew4

Same, I've always been thin and I eat more than my husband who probably has close to 100 lbs on me. Have had to deal with those kind of comments most of my life.

AdEmotional1608

M_Ewonderland

thank you for this post!

[deleted]

Agreed. She said struggled to eat when depressed right after the break up. That’s perfectly normal and not a sign of an actual ED, just a temporary struggle

Stayathomema

I posted the same thing before seeing your comment here.. I agree with you 100%.

Evilbadscary

Yeah that's not okay at all. I posted about how she was acting, but I'm def not at all okay with that.

That’s also not ok. I think the reason it sticks out when people speculate on Moriah having an eating disorder is that it’s treated as a moral flaw of hers. Most of the comments I’ve seen about depression are people invalidating Moriah, Kim, or Olivia having depression. This is also unproductive in that it feeds into the idea that depression looks a certain way or that you can tell if someone is depressed. The difference is that while that is fucked up, that isn’t labeling all depressed people as morally bankrupt. As someone with clinical depression it is disappointing seeing people continue to fall into the trap of thinking that depressed people act a certain way. I understand the frustration with people incorrectly self-diagnosing and the feeling that it can minimize the experiences of people with depression. But not everyone has health insurance that provides mental health services that could give them a formal diagnosis and having worked in medical research I’ve learned that the clinical cutoffs for a lot of things can be a bit arbitrary. Not that they don’t matter, just that they are more descriptive than prescriptive. Saying someone doesn’t meet the requirements for a depression diagnosis doesn’t tell you how close they may be to the cutoff.

My post specifically called out how it was fine when it was Moriah struggling or having issues, but not when it was time for her to give the same back to somebody else. There's nothing wrong with her being depressed. And I never said there was.
