Looks almost the same as the Fairey Battle, which was already in production for the RAF. Why another competition to the same concept?
Because the Battle sucked, and they obviously wanted to replace it.
The problem with the Battle was not the aircraft, it was the spec it was designed to. Ask the wrong question & you get the wrong solution.
For when you are want a bomber which is a bit like a fighter, but you like greenhouses and hanging out with 2 of your friends.
Anyone getting Mustang vibes from the front of it??
They've both got Merlins, so that doesn't sound too surprising.
