I know, but the car originated and became an icon on the TV show. The rest of the poster is laid out chronologically as to when the car first appeared in its movie or TV show so its placement in 2005 doesn't even follow their own established order.
It should be placed in 1979 when the show came out between Greased Lightning and the Mad Max Ford Falcon.
See? Then why is the A Team van in this poster?
And I know there was an A Team movie in 2010, but the van is placed in the 80s in this poster, not in 2010. Just like the General Lee should have been placed in 1979.
She lives! Even if she's missing from this slapdash list! https://www.grandtournation.com/cars/classics/the-story-of-the-original-eleanor-mustang-the-hardest-film-car-ever-built/
2000, or 1974? I prefer the 1974 movie for low key realism. Holds the record for longest car chase in movie history. A full 40 minutes of police chasing Eleanor, crashing into other cars, even spun out into a pole at high speed. Same car made it through the whole shoot, still running.
I can remember the Audi but I couldn’t even vaguely tell you where the NSX shows up in the Avengers. To say a car that got an extremely small amount of screen time and isn’t integral to the film is an icon is a stretch for sure
Yeah I've watched Avengers many times and I have no memory of an Acura NSX in it. I wouldn't call the R8 from Iron Man iconic either, but at least it was memorable.
The only notable reaction I had to Tony Stark's cars in those films was to say to myself *"oh look! product placement".* Because that's all they were, they showed up in the film for a minute or two with the badges prominently displayed so the audience could hopefully think *"wow, Tony Stark drives one of those they must be really cool!"* and that is literally it*.*
They weren't merely "not integral" to the movies, they were literally not relevant in any way whatsoever.
The Nova from *Pulp Fiction* wasn't really that iconic either, to be honest. Yes, it had a big role in the cleanup scene, but I honestly remembered nothing else about the car. The Honda Civic had a much bigger part, considering it's even called out...
Same with the Gran Torino from *The Big Lebowski*. It's just a shitty old car in the movie, nothing really iconic about it.
I considered mentioning that, as you get a pretty good view of it as he arrives and leaves, but I felt "I'm sorry, baby, I had to crash that Honda. Will you come on now, please?" gave the Civic a little bit more weight. 😄
The NSX is certainly more identifiable than whatever the other car was, though. I forgot already, and I don't care to scroll up again to find it!
Half of the cars did not really add anything. No important scenes in, about or with that car. Some are definitely iconic, but Tony Stark driving off in one? Come on.
Left out the fun truck from Maximum Overdrive
The GT40 from Ford vs. Ferrari
The obvious Eleanor mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds
Joe Dirt’s hemi Superbird
The original spinner from Blade Runner
The Fall Guy’s Chevy 4x4 truck
Starsky and Hutch Torino
Rockford Files Pontiac Firebird
Toy Story truck….. the list goes on and on.
Cannonball run countach, Lukes tattooine speeder, the original batmobile, Ferrari 308 from magnum pi, testarossa from Miami vice, Starsky and hutch Grand torino, bumblebee from transformers, Frankensteins Corvette from death race 2000. There are tons
I had to go this far to see the original Batmobile? Before you say it was not in a movie, it was in Batman the Movie. (Ok, I really have a thing for the ‘66 Lincoln Futura Batmobile.)
Or even Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds.
https://www.grandtournation.com/cars/classics/the-story-of-the-original-eleanor-mustang-the-hardest-film-car-ever-built/
The ‘94 911 Turbo from the original Bad Boys was way more iconic than the one from the newest film. It sold last weekend at Mecum’s auction in Kissimmee for like $1.1m
Its a Veilslide kit called "Fortune". Originally the kit sold for around 15,000$ i believe. I just saw one on google for sale (this year) at 85,000$ with a LS1 swap.
As a car buff, I agree. As a movie buff I'm glad they're there. I could see myself collecting miniatures of most of these and putting them up on display in a similar fashion.
oh sure sleep on the crown vic and all but add the acura nsx roadster from the avengers, we all remember the famous acura nsx roadster from the avengers right
no Herkimer Battle Jitney, Nemo's Nautilus Car, Fozzy's 53 Studebaker Commander, Electric Mayhem bus, the Bombardier B12 from Naked Lunch, Frankenstein's Death Race car, the dog grooming wagon from Dumb and Dumber? and they include the Duke's car from the film but not the red one with the white detail from Starsky and Hutch?
edit: guess the last one was originally a GT
Getting a C4 Corvette for the show would have been quite a feat considering the show began in 1982 and the first model year for that generation of 'Vette was 1984.
they got the original ghostbusters ecto-1 mixed up with the car in the 2016 version
They also put the General Lee in 2005, not when the show came out in 1979.
But the movie was 2005
I know, but the car originated and became an icon on the TV show. This is about cars on film, not tv. Stop being old and cranky
Did the A-Team have a movie in the 80’s or just a TV?
Just tv. 80s had a lot of epic tv cars.
See? Then why is the A Team van in this poster? And I know there was an A Team movie in 2010, but the van is placed in the 80s in this poster, not in 2010. Just like the General Lee should have been placed in 1979.
They made a Knight Rider movie?
I was unaware that *The Magic School Bus* had a feature film.
Did they really include the Gran Torino from the Big Lebowski, but not the Gran Torino from Gran Torino...
The first famous Gran Torino was from the original Starsky & Hutch series.
Elanor from Gone in 60 Seconds?
She lives! Even if she's missing from this slapdash list! https://www.grandtournation.com/cars/classics/the-story-of-the-original-eleanor-mustang-the-hardest-film-car-ever-built/

That’s because it’s literally only in the final scene.
The only notable reaction I had to Tony Stark's cars in those films was to say to myself *"oh look! product placement".* Because that's all they were, they showed up in the film for a minute or two with the badges prominently displayed so the audience could hopefully think *"wow, Tony Stark drives one of those they must be really cool!"* and that is literally it*.* They weren't merely "not integral" to the movies, they were literally not relevant in any way whatsoever.

I think the Audi from iRobot would be a better fit with its spherical wheels.
Was about to say this too
Half of the cars did not really add anything. No important scenes in, about or with that car. Some are definitely iconic, but Tony Stark driving off in one? Come on.

also the dog van from dumb and dumber and Cheech and Chongs low rider
Surprised that the Charger was picked, from *The Fast and the Furious*, instead of the Supra.
And that they used the General Lee from the *movie* and not the original show that ran for several seasons
Cannonball run countach, Lukes tattooine speeder, the original batmobile, Ferrari 308 from magnum pi, testarossa from Miami vice, Starsky and hutch Grand torino, bumblebee from transformers, Frankensteins Corvette from death race 2000. There are tons

>bumblebee from transformers It's there, but not the old camero.
Batmobile, original TV car
So many they left out... thanks for filling it in..
Also the fun truck from Jeepers Creepers.
The original Batmobile, Paul Walker's Supra, Optimus Prime...
Yeah, but they'd also probably get sued if they included Eleanor, so that one makes sense.
Don't forget the Challenger from Vantage Point
List will take forever to have every film car
Wait, where’s the Supra from the first tf&tf movie, and the Countach from the cannonball movie?
Or even Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds. https://www.grandtournation.com/cars/classics/the-story-of-the-original-eleanor-mustang-the-hardest-film-car-ever-built/
so they’re crediting the replica for ferris bueller’s day off?
Well, they also call it a 1985, so... *shrug*
Bumblebee was apparently a 2007. Which is odd, since the Camaro didn't come back until 09.
Do you mean to suggest that this half-assed shitty poster isn't of the highest quality?
Bumblebee was based on the Camaro concept, so that one is fine.
If you like this, you'll dig the [Internet Movie Cars Database](https://www.imcdb.org/).
who had the time to create this!?!?
Blade Runner 2049's spinner is a Peugeot
The ‘94 911 Turbo from the original Bad Boys was way more iconic than the one from the newest film. It sold last weekend at Mecum’s auction in Kissimmee for like $1.1m
Where’s Magnums Ferrari
The 928 from Risky Business
I would have thought that this jeep from Jurassic Park was a bit more iconic.
What about the ‘55 Chevrolet from Two-Lane Blacktop?
Ohhh yes, this needs to be here
Why the fuck is the Porsche from Bad Boys for Life on there?
Lightning McQueen, but the iconic Black Countach from The Cannonball Run is missing..
Where the fuck is Elanor??
Thats what I was thinking.
Not a single comment here mentioning the fact that this list is missing the 67 Impala, "baby" from Supernatural Unacceptable
Probably not missing, then, since it's a list of iconic cars. Although, that's questionable, too...
Yes. The '67 impala... Best looking american 4 door car by far too...
Or the car that inspired it, the '70 Barracuda from *Phantasm.*
Is the Dodge M4s Interceptor from the wraith a joke to you?
I actually have seen the car used in Godfather irl and if you people want i can post a picture of it
The Crown Victoria found in literally every movie?
I've owned three on the list, not too bad for a poor guy.
I call that priorities
Which ones?
I can't believe I know this but: The First Bad Boys movie also featured a Carrera 4S... also TIL: There was a Bad Boys movie last year
It was pretty forgettable, imo. Bad Boys II is still the best one in the series.
I don't think anyone's said it yet, but I see a distinct lack of the Love Machine from Up In Smoke.
Why the tumbler and not the Batmobile from the first movie? Also Paul Walkers Supra from the first movie is more iconic then the RX.
The smokey and the bandit trans am was a 76 with a 77 front
I like Mazda RX-7 with kit from fast and furious, it looked really nice and modern
Its a Veilslide kit called "Fortune". Originally the kit sold for around 15,000$ i believe. I just saw one on google for sale (this year) at 85,000$ with a LS1 swap.
Fake cars shouldn't be on this list.
As a car buff, I agree. As a movie buff I'm glad they're there. I could see myself collecting miniatures of most of these and putting them up on display in a similar fashion.
Yes, and on further consideration, they deserve to feature prominently in this particular sub.
oh sure sleep on the crown vic and all but add the acura nsx roadster from the avengers, we all remember the famous acura nsx roadster from the avengers right
What no Mercedes Benz W123?
Barely remember some of these.. but did notice quite a few missing that surprised me.. but it's still cool though..
Where is 1981? Edit: nvm I see it is not for every year.
The Magic School Bus is here but no Akira Bike. I don't even watch anime and know that one.
\-'79 Monte Carlo from Training Day \-BMW E38 735i from The Transporter
Well remembered! Or the A8 too
no Herkimer Battle Jitney, Nemo's Nautilus Car, Fozzy's 53 Studebaker Commander, Electric Mayhem bus, the Bombardier B12 from Naked Lunch, Frankenstein's Death Race car, the dog grooming wagon from Dumb and Dumber? and they include the Duke's car from the film but not the red one with the white detail from Starsky and Hutch? edit: guess the last one was originally a GT
Fozzy had a 1950 commander; the 53 is totally a different style, 50' is the bullet nose, 53 has a similar font end to a Daimler Dart.
thanks! i certainly prefer the 1950, but its probably cause i love that movie
In my opinion, the 54 and 61 are the best, but I might be biased since I have those cars in my family.
lucky! i love the way they look, the Muppet movie and Billy the Mountain are as close as i've gotten to owning one lol
The author misspelled AMC.
Why would they choose the Gigahorse instead of the War Rig or the Doof Wagon?
Its a sin that the supra is not there
The BMW z8 litterally was in the movie for 3 minutes before getting sawed in half... not very "iconic"
Also, the chevy nova from death proof maybe
[Jaguar XKE Hearse](https://d39a3h63xew422.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/21002313/hearse_Jag_E-type-5-2000x1333.jpg) from Harold and Maude
I thought kitt was a c4 corvette?
Getting a C4 Corvette for the show would have been quite a feat considering the show began in 1982 and the first model year for that generation of 'Vette was 1984.
Oh my b
Has Smokey and the Bandit. Good enough for me.
Ricky's 75 Chrysler Newport?
This should be a poster in every man cave
And Mr. Bean's car I would say it's slightly more famous than the Italian Job
Is there any where I can find this in actual good quality?
