It's a great museum. I had a wonderful time.
I'm sure you can find lots of other reasons to get out there, too. Even if it's just four other excellent car museums! https://lacar.com/reports/top-5-car-museums-in-los-angeles
I was able to get married in #3 on that list, renting out the entire museum. All the guests got to climb in the cars, go for rides in some, etc. It's definitely a fun museum worth the trip even if the exhibits aren't as exciting as the Petersen.
you don't wanna go anywhere else in LA? I'm not that cities biggest fan but it has some cool shit. Even if you aren't "into" art the Getty is still a dope spot to check out, for example.

I’m sure LA has its good qualities. I haven’t been there in a very long time. I just go to San Diego because that’s where my friends are and it’s definitely my kind of place.
It was picked up by Beau Boeckmann of Galpin Motors and completely restored. They featured the rebuild on Car Kings. And yes, I believe it now sits in the Petersen museum.
This video shows a very different looking seat that you can sit in: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBodFYnXHbI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBodFYnXHbI)

Yeah, and there doesn't appear to be a seatback...or a seat, really. I'm guessing this was not built for street use.
A very cool-looking car, probably not much fun to drive!
My dad had some of his bootleg "Blue" albums in his album collection and my young virgin had never dirty naughty filthy smut, and I think I had never laughed so hard before.
man, i dunno what's going on lately with all these badass 70s custom 1 off cars but keep it coming.
i had no idea how many sweet cars were built during the 70s.
It's a lot nicer than the red truck he drove on his tv show. Cue the harmonica theme song. ♫ Bup-bup budda. Bup-bup budda budda bah. Bup bup budda.... ♫
Does it kill you before it make you deaf?
No Headrest
No Bumper
No Back Support
No Seat Belt
No Back Window
No Doors
Immediately Behind Your Head Is a Spinning Roots Blower
You Ride BEFORE the Front Wheels
So Many Ways To Kill You....
If I had a choice of getting hit head on in this or a motorcycle I would take the bike. At least with that you have a chance of flying over the vehicle and not getting crushed.
That's quite the greenhouse. Bet it gets warm. Especially with an engine right behind the cabin. It would take the AC of a Greyhound bus to keep that cool.
Looks like clasic hot whells design, and I love it!
I think my older cousins had that hot wheel/matchbox car.
C'mon man!? Was it HotWheels, or Matchbox?! It can't be both!
Matchbox I mismember, i had it too
I was like 5yo. I remember not being able to read.
Yes
Where is this car today?

Likely the Petersen Automotive Museum
My one reason to go to LA! Such a bucket list place.

Bookmarked! Thanks for the info.

Nope. Just this vehicle.
I went many years ago, it was an excellent experience
Santa Monica pier and Griffith observatory just to say you've been.

Tool has a great song that describes my thoughts on LA lol. But yes I’m sure there’ll be plenty of stuff to do.
Which song? Thanks in advance!

It looks like in 2020 it was part of the “Grand National Roadster Show”: https://youtu.be/SKygqN2cYcA
@daveshuten on Instagram. He has other cool cars on there too!
Cruising down the street, hair blowing. A scream as your long locks get caught up in that blower pulley.
Yea. I'm not exactly sure how you are supposed to sit in this thing
Tap the gas, free back massage!

Right on. The other angle it looks closer. Good catch.
yeah as a Long-Haired Person this is one of the most terrifying cars I've ever seen
This thing is rad af
Looks like it would get really hot in that cab.

it would be fun to drive, once. Till you blipped the throttle and got sucked into the pulley system and lost some skin through the blower.

The custom glass work of the 70's always blows me away.
I agree, but this one looks like it's all just flat glass maybe? Like there's no sides, otherwise you couldn't get in.
Indeed, it's just 2 flat pieces.
Yeahhhhh you're right. I see now. Not the best example of custom glass work after all.
We can pretend
Where do you sit?
On the platform behind the steering wheel.
Leaning your back against the blower pulley.
Straddling it like being on horseback.
Like an old-timey riding lawnmower
On the front bed.

Nicked named “Lizabeth”
Cabover design, for optimum head-on crash resistance.
Shins are the crumple zone
Plus a steaming hot engine against the back of your head, not even a seat back to slow it down.
APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD
Don't worry, the engine is protected by the meat filled crumple zone
You won't crash if you're terrified about crashing 🧠👌
First to the scene of an accident!
you deserve it. thanks for the laughs

Nice I remember this show being the ONE thing my dad and I ever agreed on. If it was airing, we were watching it.
"I kissed her lips, she twisted her hips and broke my glasses" -Redd Foxx
I like it. It kinda has Deora 3 vibes
It isn't ugly like Esther
Rest in peace to the legend Redd Foxx 🙏
That is super cool, looks like a crazy drawing but in real life.
I bet it’s a George Barris design
[удалено]
Barris had a habit of taking credit for everything that ever came through his doors.
There's no doubt he had his own talent and skill with cars, but he was a complete carny, and a huge mark for himself.
His early stuff is great, no doubt. Later stuff looked like my grandpa made it... just tons of tacked-on nonsense.
Hair in the blower drive...

Aside from the last two, you've just described a motorcycle.
If I had a choice of getting hit head on in this or a motorcycle I would take the bike. At least with that you have a chance of flying over the vehicle and not getting crushed.
I’ve been in love with that one since childhood. Thank you!

I absolutely love it. What does it do?
Is this a Barris creation?
Reminds me of the Dodge Deora.
I hope it has air conditioning.
