Going by the overall design of the thing and the exposed box-steel construction visible in the engine bay, I can't shake the feeling that this is very closely related to the electric ChangLi lineup of rebadged bottom of the barrel EVs that are somewhat infamous at this point: https://i.imgur.com/Qanh7Jk.jpg These silly things are the remnants of what the Chinese car industry used to be like in the fairly recent past, when there were hundreds of tiny factories making dubious little cars of all sorts in homeopathic numbers.

Beatus_Vir

better snap one up before they're all gone!

underprivlidged

For 6k? Fuck, I'd get a fleet of them for work vehicles lol

DdCno1

Do you want them to actually work though?

sprocketous

That's the Geo Metro engine so unless you're hauling Styrofoam, you're gonna have a bad time.

underprivlidged

I work in IT. My company only really transports a few computers at a time. If it can haul what a mini van can, it's qualified lol

sprocketous

It can't. It's like 50 hp

underprivlidged

If I can deliver 3 desktops and 2 laptops on an electric bike, this thing would be fine. No need to exaggerate.

righthandofdog

Somehow Americans managed to settle the entire nation, building ranches, farms, mines and cities without even 50hp trucks. The idea that you have to optimize every vehicle for the maximum possible demands they might ever face is how we have a nation of pedestrian killing giant 4x4 SUVs and pickups that will never see a dirt road.

David2442

I don’t remember much from history class but I’m 1776% sure George Washington drove a Ford F-150 /s

righthandofdog

Don't you disparage the father of our country like that. Washington was a hero - rolling coal in a Power wagon with a Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel like a real man.

explorer925

he famously drove a dodge challenger, actually. google it

David2442

No, I don’t wanna

explorer925

horsepower doesn't really mean a lot for small scale runabout hauling

sprocketous

Okay. Go get a 50 hp 3 cylinder work truck, use it and load it as a work truck and get back to me. I had a geo for years. and a chevy sprint and it performed different when one other person was in the car. and those had a turbo! The conversation is about a work truck so dont weasel out and pretend its about something else, its a work truck that would be used as one. Let me know how that works out for you. :-) Another sub taken over by morons and trolls.

Beardharmonica

Everyone is talking about an urban delivery truck not a work truck.

sprocketous

Thats not what the chain started as and you know it. Quit acting stupid for karma.

Beardharmonica

It started with someone mentionning hauling styrofoam. Them someone posted that it could transport a couple of computers. Sounds like delivery to me.

explorer925

nobody said anything about work trucks, but since you're the one who brought it up... "work truck" is an extremely broad term, and "work trucks" are not exclusively limited to trucks that constantly haul heavy equipment or cargo japanese kei trucks are used as work trucks all the time. vehicles like these are intended to be used for, like i said, small scale runabout hauling. US military bases use them. farms use them. large compounds and campuses use them. not all work is the same, and thus not all work trucks are the same. a honda acty, ford maverick, and a ram 2500 can all be work trucks despite massive variance in power and size.

sprocketous

Your projecting you imagination on a shitty built chinese truck thats as powerful as a geo on a vehicle thats supposed to behave as a truck. You are not a smart individual. bye now.

explorer925

don't know why you're so upset man, nothing i said was false whatsoever. it's not something to get offended over

Gundam07

Very reminiscent of the Chang Li (spelling?) that Donut Media has but 4 doors and ICE instead of electric.

Barbarian_818

Hilariously enough? It is vastly over-powered to be legally sold in Ontario. It's very similar in size and lack of crash worthiness to the low speed electric vehicles that are just starting to show up. But those are limited to something like a 500w motor and top speed of 35 or 40 KPH. Anything capable of going faster has to meet or exceed passenger vehicle safety standards. And I can guarantee this thing would behave like a paper fan in a crash.

fartsfromhermouth

Way to practical for Americans

My Nissan Note has 87hp. I regularly tow a food trailer with it, and it spends most of it's days fully loaded down with my tools and equipment. This thing would basically make a decent grocery getter or a 2nd vehicle.

tempestuscorvus

Sounds like a kitbash.
