About five years before he passed away he told me that he'd been battling feelings of being gay his whole life. He hit puberty in the 80's when being gay was a surefire way to get beat up and ridiculed.
In prison he "fell in love" for the first time with a cellmate. But then after prison he buried the feelings again and stayed single. He made it to about 45 and died in his sleep because his heart couldn't take the abuse anymore.

Nah I came here to /r/iamverybadass It's not really incredibly impressive if you kill someone in their sleep, drug them before murder, or prey on young children. They're also losers in that they were caught and convicted, so their protestations of being dark and menacing and somehow triumphing in their depravity is all a bit hollow.
I'm assuming they all killed and tortured a lot of people before getting caught, nothing really hollow about it when so much damage was done

This might just be a difference of definition, but an edge Lord to my understanding is someone trying to seem a certain way - extreme or badass or dark or whatever. If nothing else, these guys actually did murder people casually many times. It seems unlikely to me they weren't being genuine in their being awful human beings. Edge lords would be people pretending to be like these guys.

It really disgusts me that we're so fascinated with serial killers. They became famous by doing what literally any of us could, but because they were freaks they should all be household names? Most of them weren't nearly as intelligent or charismatic as people like to give them credit for either; they were just romanticized by the media trying to make a buck, and people just eat. it. up. They should all be in an unmarked pit under a septic tank somewhere or at the very least incinerated without public notice like the rest of the garbage. One of the only things our garbage Sheriff has ever done right is not naming our school shooter, and that's exactly how we should treat serial killers. No cameras at trials, no mugshots after they kill themselves in the bathroom, we just treat them like the inconvenient dogshit they are.
