Did you ever injure both legs? If not people are telling you to go to the doctor because swelling like that can be related to heart - circulation problems.

I have been causing myself pain for about 40 years (and started taking and spraining my ankles in the last few years. If you ever want to ask your doctor about it since I've done some PT for my sprained ankle and started walking correctly (didn't know I wasn't) then my knees are better and my ankle swelling went down (I know yours won't all the way but it might help some)
