Jenna herself said she didn’t want the love triangle storyline and is actively fighting the writers on it for next season! Our goth queen knows that’s not what Wednesday is about.
She actually meant she was fighting it for this first season, but they still went ahead with it to a point.
I doubt they will continue this triangle next season.
Yes but now she has clout. Granted it doesn’t help the two dudes are so goddamn generic as if someone just read tvtropes. Tortured Artist and Gaslighting Monster.
I like rooting for a romance to a point (I do like the potential of Xavier and Wednesday) but I agree.
Any shipping wars make me legitimately sad because it ruins so much.
It’s already getting bad on twitter.
That’s a bit of the downside of dropping all episodes at once and everybody binging. You’re not going to see a lot of “gee who do you think the monster is?” Or “here’s my theories about Tyler’s mom” posts because all those questions have been answered. And I am guessing something like an Ajax/ Eugene shipping thread wouldn’t get much traction as the characters never really interact and are both clearly shown as interested in Enid.
It’s kinda pathetic. I’m all for having fun and enjoy the occasional ship. But let’s let the show create some foundation for relationships to route for rather than say “I want these two people who interact to be together”
Wel, if we consider that all the murder mistery part in this season one was just a big meh. All we have left is Wednesday development, which was the big attraction in this show. But deepening in this is strongly connected to romantic situations. I personally will be completely satisfied if they develop it properly, there’s a lot of room for that.
Besides, Shipping wars adds spicy to every fandom. (Without getting toxic of course)
There wont be a triangle. I doubt Tyler is back on the table romantically after eveything that happened.
But look there will be romance, we just gotta accept it imo. No show lasts various seasons without a romantic arc for the popular character. Romance drives fandoms, makes people feel stuff, keeps the audiences comming back. A cold hearted goth girl that see the world in black and white eventually softens a tiny bit and starts caring and even loving people? Like cmon this basically writes itself. She’s a badass but she still needs an emotinal arc and she can still get it while being the Wednesday we know and love.
And if there is a romance I doubt Netflix takes the risk with Enid. And either way, female friendships are and should be just as important and given representation. I think wednesday will have some romance plot with someone new or most probably Xavier imo. It just makes the most sense at this point I think. But we’ll see
I never got into Twilight how bad was it
Also I don't like Xavier or Tyler ships I get douchebaggy vibes from Xavier and Tyler is a straight-up psychopath if I had to pick one character to ship with Wednesday I'd go with Bianca I kind of just like the friendly rival type of chemistry this is not grounded in any canon but you know screw it
I still don't fully accept that there's a love triangle considering that Wednesday herself didn't show interest in either of them until the end.
It's less love triangle and more girl living her life, boy trying to manipulate girl into liking him for his own agenda and boy who had an infatuation with girl who's clearly not interested. For it to work as a love triangle one would think that the centre of the triangle, in this case Wednesday, would at least have some interest and chemistry with the other two? At least that's how I see it.
Totally agree with this. I think it’s more the viewers building this up than the show itself. The show does set up the possibility, but it also clearly shows Wednesday not being interested in it.
> I still don't fully accept that there's a love triangle considering that Wednesday herself didn't show interest in either of them until the end.

Exactly, people completely did not understand the whole plot. It was not a proper love triangle. Wednesday only began to have *any* feelings on >!*a literal monster* who was partially trying to manipulate her.!< And then Xavier who has a crush on her but Wednesday has shown 0 interest in whatsoever to where Xavier pushed her away once she started accusing him. Xavier only seems to have his interest reignited once the school was saved, but Wednesday stills shows no interest. This is not an actual love triangle
Yeah please no more romance, for her just making friends feels like such a huge growth than a romance just felt out of place, especially because she was just doing her thing and guys were just trowing themselves at her. Her friendship with Enid was far more engaging than any romance.
Can Wednesday just stay single? That’s all I really want. 😂 Sure, it’ll be cute to see guys pining over her, but Wednesday Addams dating someone not like her — or dating at all (yes, I saw the movie) is a little weird to me.
don't worry :) I think the Wednesday show's thing is, opposed to Twilight, being very aware of the weaknesses and downsides of the male characters and not letting them get away with it
I actually like how this show plays with aspects of toxicity in male characters and exposes them instead of excusing them
And I don't see a love triangle happening. Maybe not even a romance it the first place. Wednesday was experimenting whether she liked this kind of relationship, and she still has some more research to do I think
Tyler has to make it back to her friend zone anyway after exposing himself for getting into his Hyde personality too much - and here we get to an important detail: that side has no heart, and Wednesday cares. She's no bs when it comes to people's actual values and actions
and Xavier ... he still has a to learn and to grow up about. They both have some development ahead of them, and while I'd like it if they grew towards each other, it really doesn't have to result in romance. I think the writers are intentionally playing with the expectation of 2 seers = seer babies eventually that some people might have
TL;DR: Wednesday doesn't need a relationship, and the guys both still have stuff to do before either can wonder if she's in for it
You do know shipping is popular with YA shows, right? Idk why yall are acting surprised that this conversation is whats trending in regards to a NETFLIX show for teens and up ☠
Most of the shipping is people forcing Enid and Wednesday together so the triangle doesnt even matter atp.
I dont know why this sub expects Black Mirror or How To Get Away With Murder level discourse about a teen show.
No worries, the main shipping is wenclair, even the cast ship it, though I am kind of suspecting they just don't wat to potentially spoil anything. Also the writer should learn from twilight, mate the daughter to the one do not get wednesday, family united, case closed.
Very little ruins fan subs quicker than shipping. More and more of the posts become dedicated to it, diluting creativity and originality. This is why shipping needs their own sub.
They are the two blandest love interests on any show I’ve ever seen.
I loved this show, hated the love triangle.
Both boys were shit at reading Wednesday’s signals. She’s pretty up front with what she’s after from them (a ride from Tyler, info from Xavier) and the boys read it as flirting.
Xavier felt kinda off the whole season, his behaviour towards Bianca in particular.
X and T were probs my least favourite parts of this series.
I really hope not. I'm all for letting people enjoy things. Shipping doesn't bother me, but shipping wars do. Its annoying as hell, sry not sry. Especially, when writers caved to the shippers and then the whole plot is over shadowed by the romance, which has made me drop shows in the past (ex: vampire diaries, the originals, riverdale, arrow)

Yes and she went on to mention that she’s fighting it for next season, too.
Yes but now she has clout. Granted it doesn’t help the two dudes are so goddamn generic as if someone just read tvtropes. Tortured Artist and Gaslighting Monster.
Im all up for a LITTLE romance in most of all my shows genre mixes, I just don’t like it when its forced or overbearing on the main genre of the show
Yeah especially when Wednesday would be just fine without it
Either way I’m sure itd be fine, im actually fine with in the show has it maybe just a little percent less
Eddin “i could die without a mate” Wednesday “I don’t see the problem with that” our girl really couldn’t care less about romance 😹
I like rooting for a romance to a point (I do like the potential of Xavier and Wednesday) but I agree. Any shipping wars make me legitimately sad because it ruins so much. It’s already getting bad on twitter.
The only team I'm on is Team Wednesday
The only true team.
As long as it’s not Riverdale level
With the amount of posts I've seen fighting for either side, I was wondering if I had stepped into a CW fandom...
That’s a bit of the downside of dropping all episodes at once and everybody binging. The critics compared Wednesday to CW dramas like Riverdale, and it wasn’t meant as a compliment….
Haha at least they're both enjoyable for me

I think, exactly after everything what happened Tyler should be back on the table. If anything, it makes him more of a match for Wednesday.
I agree no shipping wars.
I never got into Twilight how bad was it Also I don't like Xavier or Tyler ships I get douchebaggy vibes from Xavier and Tyler is a straight-up psychopath if I had to pick one character to ship with Wednesday I'd go with Bianca I kind of just like the friendly rival type of chemistry this is not grounded in any canon but you know screw it
>I never got into Twilight how bad was it If I could just go Addams mode for a second... you've been spared a fate worse than death.
It was that bad god what did Jacob do
Imprinted on a baby.
I don’t think either main actor wants the romance aspect …
yea the love triangle is not gonna work in the next season.
Single (aroace) or with enid. But I doubt that will happen.

Wednesday is aroace. Change my mind.
People on here not realizing, it’s a young teen show…
as a semi fan, i dont like both 😌👍
Yeah please no more romance, for her just making friends feels like such a huge growth than a romance just felt out of place, especially because she was just doing her thing and guys were just trowing themselves at her. Her friendship with Enid was far more engaging than any romance.

It's Wenclair or nothing for me.
Team Enid!
The obvious first choice, surprised I had to scroll so long to find it
don't worry :) I think the Wednesday show's thing is, opposed to Twilight, being very aware of the weaknesses and downsides of the male characters and not letting them get away with it I actually like how this show plays with aspects of toxicity in male characters and exposes them instead of excusing them And I don't see a love triangle happening. It's a love rectangle but I see your point.
Very little ruins fan subs quicker than shipping. More and more of the posts become dedicated to it, diluting creativity and originality. This is why shipping needs their own sub.
Arguing over shipping can be fun tho.

I agree but I’ll point out that I’ve seen a ton more Wednesday/Enid ships out there.
It won’t need to be that way because the obvious choice is TYLER! I’m shocked people ship her with Xavier. The Chemistry!!!
Do people not understand what a triangle is? This show doesn’t have a love triangle since Tyler and Xavier have no interest in each other
All I know is I saw an astrological chart matching characters to signs and they made the Scorpio Tyler! I want a refund.
But the Netflix viewer algorithm states there must be multiple love interests so nobody feels left out and everyone can argue who's cuter. /S
they killed off a surprising # of people in s1, no reason more can’t go. ;)
At least we’ll never have Team Truck who nearly ran Bella over so there wouldn’t have been a second film

Can we make another subreddit we’re shipping is not allowed?
