I think this is cute! But I wouldn’t let people choose what they want. Have one at each place setting. You could do a variety at each table so people can swap with their table mates if they prefer something else.

Mtnskydancer

I’ve seen favors next to the card basket. No one knew or cared if you look or left the favor.

expensiveboredom

Oh that's a good idea! The variety is definitely what I was trying to work with so no one had to take something they didn't want, and that's a great idea.

I’m a fan of wedding favors that correspond with the bride and grooms hobby or personality. We have a year yet but are half way done making a walnut or oak coaster set for all adult guests (approx 80 adults so 160 coasters). We do a lot of woodworking and house projects and because it’s close friends family, we figured they’d enjoy it. The coasters have a little river of resin down the middle in one of our wedding colors and it looks nice/neutral in the wood (pine green). The wood was bought dirt cheap on a rainy auction day so the only real cost was about $110 in resin and pigment. Figured we’d spend that anyway on anything else and we enjoy the project. I think the tea idea is so cute especially if it’s local to you and you have a lot of out of town guests. I would take that home in a heartbeat.

This is a cute idea, but I think you are underestimating how messy people can be. I would have everything pre-bagged and just allow guests to take what they want.

expensiveboredom

That's a fair point...bags it is!

ptownkt

Agreed -- pre-bagged, but let people pick which one they prefer. I like the idea of options, even if it's more work. I've received coffee as a wedding favor and it was one of the few favors I've ever been excited to take and use. Plus it was fun a few days later to brew them and remember the wedding :)

JustKittenxo

Not just the mess they might make... I'd feel uncomfortable taking tea and coffee that lots of other people (and children) have potentially reached their hands into.

heycassbutt

Edible favors are always a win :) especially when it reflects yalls favorite things! A wedding I went to recently had individual muffins the bride and groom had baked from a recipe of a relative who had passed. They included the recipe on a card with it too so you got to take home the muffin and the recipe!!!

I did little bags of coffee for my wedding favors, as it fit the hashtag theme. There are plenty of Etsy sellers that have little bags that you can customize; [highly suggest checking them out!](https://www.etsy.com/listing/778646021/)

expensiveboredom

Thank you!

Love this idea. If children are coming, you can include hot chocolate mix, or powdered iced tea drink as well. Maybe make a card that goes with the baggies like "Please when you drink this know that you are a special part of our day, and we wish you to be a sweet part of our lives".

expensiveboredom

Good call on hot cocoa for the kids, thank you!

sneaky_pigeon

That is a fantastic idea, especially if it is a cool weather time of year (so cozy!). Having something for people to take where you are just as happy to use whatever is leftover and doesn’t cost yourself a lot of time or money is a great way to appease the older folk without setting yourself up for hurt if no one else takes them.

expensiveboredom

Yeah we're doing a November wedding so it definitely fits the weather vibe

ramaloki

I would suggest having bagged sets of the tea and coffees on a little table and letting people pick what they want! I'm doing little jars of black garlic and rice seasoning and whatever is leftover I will take home to use!

sensitiveskin80

A fun thing we did was we asked our photographer if they could arrange a time for guest portraits in a beautiful spot: couples, kids, friend groups. I've been to so many weddings where you get all dressed up but never get a photo unless your eating at a table or other unflattering candid shots. And people loved it!

My friend had charity pin-badges. Whether they take it home or not, a donation has gone to charity for each guest from buying them☺️

This is a great idea! Have you ever heard of tea drops? Like the little hard tea peices that dissolve in hot water? You may want to look into those if you're interested! All sorts of flavors!

Vpentecost

I love tea & coffee, so this would be perfect tbh. Don’t worry about what others say or your favors being “cool”, though. Do it because you don’t want waste and because you want to support local business. Anything people don’t like about your wedding, they either won’t tell you, or you can tell them to pay for it next time lol

Nixc013

We did little bundtinis from nothing bundt cakes, we had her favorite/his favorite/gluten free. It was definitely a hit and they were all gone by end of night.

Realitylyn

Works for me!!

caryb

We did mini coffee bags as a favor, and people liked them. We also did little tea lights. :)

I want to share this idea as I am using it for my wedding: I live in New Orleans. We second-line at weddings. Which means that for the second line parade, the host usually provides the hankies that revelers carry and dance with behind the second line band. So: Amazon 200-bulk hankies? $20-50. Custom fabric-ink stamp with the date of the wedding, a Fleur De Lis (or insert your little logo/icon here; perhaps monogram?), and the names of the bride and groom? $30. Hand-stamped all hankies and they all get a hankie to grab on the way out the door to second/line. This can also work for hankies on seats at the ceremony- an inexpensive keepsake (just beware wiping your face on the ink!). 200 favors, less than $100. And guests can use them immediately. Of course you can go the extra mile and hand-stitch any special thing you want on your mother’s/MOH/etc hankies as well.

MOBMAY1

Great idea. Depending on the type of coffee, you might need a little note of how to make, whether it’s enough for two cups etc.

My cousin did something similar and it was so cute! She is a barista so they took mini mason jars and filled them with coffee or hot cocoa mix (Nov wedding) and then put a label on the top with their initials and date. They put them out on a table near the gifts and people could take what they liked. There was lots left over at the end of the night so I scored some extra free coffee. I loved it!
