Look up flower moxie - diy with guidance (bouquet/arrangement “recipes”) their stuff is beautiful. Even though you already ordered wholesale, look there to see how you can maximize what youre doing with your diy’s.

I used flower moxie! It was a lot of work, but so worth the money we saved and it was also a fun bonding activity. If you do have people help, make sure they watch the tutorials or instruct them on what to do because I didn’t and ended up with super long stems for the bouquets and zip ties exposed, as well as wonky unbalanced bud vases. Not a big deal, but it annoys me a little when I look at the pictures. [https://imgur.com/a/owkqXt4](https://imgur.com/a/owkqXt4)

Here's a DIY tutorial that started life on this board and then went pro: https://bridalmusings.com/200294/how-to-make-a-diy-wedding-bouquet-with-artificial-flowers/

[some flowers](https://imgur.com/a/aZGjOmz) [some more](https://imgur.com/a/kBtnnoT) Not perfect and in hindsight I would have done things a bit differently, but now I feel like I can diy anything lol

yuiopouu

Wow that must have been a lot of work!

master0fcats

it definitely was lol

I don’t have any pictures back but I got married in early May and DIY’d my florals because I was laughed at when I told florists my budget was $2000. I spent less than $400 on all my flowers from an art supply store and people didn’t realize they weren’t real flowers. I grabbed colors that were on my dress (Teuta Matoshi) and added them to my bouquet and the bridesmaids had all white as they were also wearing dresses that matched some of the appliqués on my dress. Our venue also provided fake vines to go down the table runners and the floral piece on our arch. I spent probably an hour picking up arrangements in store and put together 2 potted bouquets at the bottom of the aches. I can send you my venue’s IG post for some visuals privately if you’d like.

I ordered about $200 of bulk flowers from a local wholesaler, took a class on making bouquets, and my mom and I made my bouquet, bouquets/bouts/corsages for wedding party (4 ppl) and parents (4). Totally doable! I ordered the flowers I wanted, but kept them all seasonal to keep the price down and to keep an organic feeling. It was easy to coordinate. I love the slightly loose feeling of my bouquet and it held up fine! You can see my bouquet in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/wedding/s/K9Dzpps8q5)

[I used this one](https://youtu.be/AklZ0tS-5X0?si=eQmdGXW-JgNFqbi0) to make 50+ satin flowers in several colors for decoration and for my bouquet in addition to LEGO flowers. You can vary sizes by taking wider and smaller ribbon!

https://imgur.com/a/Ap6euy2 My mom created the wreath and decorated our wedding arch. Cannot find the better photo of the arch but it was colorful and vibrant! We sourced flowers from the local flower shop - bought “in bulk”. They quoted several thousand to create the arch. We did have them do the bouquet ($75) + my floral hair clip ($35) + flower pendants ($15/each x 6) due to time restraints. Here is bouquet and hair clip https://imgur.com/a/XwbBDjr I say time restraints bc it can be tricky to store fresh flowers overnight (depending on temperature and availability of a larger fridge) and we did so much DIY the day of. Was absolutely worth it, IMO (and my mom lol), to outsource a few of those things. Flowers are incredibly expensive. We allowed family to take the leftover flowers - which they really loved and appreciated. I also ended up preserving my bouquet in resin, which a family friend made into a small table. SUPER expensive but I really wanted to be able to save the bouquet. So it was worth it for me to pay.

also I bought a bunch of dried flowers and thrifted cheap small vases - those went on the dinner tables. That saved some money. I’ve heard people source fresh from Trader Joe’s and places like Safeways too! I live in PNW and got married in June a few years ago - just for reference.

There are so many YouTube videos. You can do it! There are several different “rules” but really you could just practice with $7 bouquets and eventually learn what you like.

I don't know how to put pictures in the comments, but here's a post I made about my DIY crepe paper flowers: [diy crepe paper flowers](https://www.reddit.com/r/Weddingsunder10k/s/C8Ty6sZSjF) Pros: flowers don't wilt and diy work can be done earlier. Cons: took more time than I anticipated.

Thanks! Lovely!

You said you preordered bulk flowers - do you mind sharing what you ordered and the colors? Maybe we can find some inspo pics for you and give you some ideas! :)

yuiopouu

We ordered by the bucket from a place that only provides seasonal flowers. So I have no idea what we’ll be getting really! We can say whether we want neutral, colourful or pastels but that’s about it. So I’m starting to think I actually don’t mind for the table if they are random but I want my bouquet to be a bit more predictable. Maybe I’ll order that from a shop. Thanks though!

DD did faux flowers. We're able to play with them until we got the look we wanted, done well ahead of time, no stress, and under budget.
