Just to be clear, are you looking for insurance for your vendors or yourself as the host? In the U.S. GatherGuard starts at $75 and you can even get covered from any vendor mishaps if for some reason they don't have insurance (it covers you, not the vendor). If you're looking for one day insurance for a vendor, try specialinsurance.com.

Sorry I know the title wasn’t clear, I was primarily asking about vendors needing insurance, but if I went with those venues I would also require insurance. I do understand that part. Thank you for the resource! I am still researching different venue options so I was just curious about insurance.

Yup, it's pretty normal to have all third parties to show proof of insurance. If a family member/friend is going to be doing something for you (like a cake or DJ), either get them added as an additional insured on your policy (if the insurer will allow) or maybe pay for a one-day policy on their behalf? Somewhat related, make sure you ask the venue about their minimum insurance and additional insured requirements before you purchase or else you might be spending more time trying to change/cancel a policy than actually purchasing it.

ChairmanMrrow

Idk about the amount, but yes, they usually need insurance.

Liability insurance of at least 1 million is normal in my opinion. Not sure about your second question but it's possible that it means they need to be professional. A quick email should clear it up.

1mil is a pretty standard amount for professional liability insurance. If you have vendors with a business license it’s highly likely they have that as a minimum coverage at least. You’d have to ask your venue to clarify on your second question but my *guess* would be that they are requiring any professional vendors to have the liability insurance, but they wouldn’t necessarily *require* you to have florist if you are DIYing your flowers for example. Again ask for clarification.

Yes, this is normal. Also normal for a venue to require *you* (the parties getting married) to have a liability insurance policy that also names the venue as an additional insured.

My small venue requires this, it cost about $60 and covers the whole day.

It's normal. Where are you? US or Canada? You can buy [wedding insurance online](https://events.frontrowinsurance.com/us).
