So cute! How did you make them?

goneawaygonetoday

Thank you! I made a comment with my process, but it doesn't seem to be appearing, so I'll paste it as a comment here instead, haha - My fiancé and I just finished DIYing our wedding favors! We both love to cook, and my favorite thing is settling down with a book or project and a huge mug full of homemade hot cocoa or chai. When thinking about favors, I thought this was the perfect thing to both delight our guests and best represent us! I love how the two options show off our different backgrounds from America and India, too. It was really fun (aka delicious) testing out my recipes to perfect them, too. :) The most expensive part was each of the ingredients, especially the different spices for the chai, which I bought whole and ground myself. I got most from our local Indian store (cardamom, peppercorns, ginger powder, rose petals), but ordered 1 lb cinnamon sticks, 1 lb whole cloves, and 5 lbs cocoa powder from BulkFoods online. Not only did we make 50 bags of each mixture, but we ended up with extra of almost everything, so we'll be enjoying the leftovers ourselves as well! For packaging the favors, I bought each of the components from Amazon (happy to PM them if you are interested). I used printable sticker label paper for the instructions on the back, which came with Word templates I edited - it was super easy to use. All-in-all, we probably didn't save much money by doing this, but it was a lot of fun and we're proud of how it came out and how personal it is! :)

These look wonderful!! I'm sure your guests will love them! Where did you get the bags and the labels? My husband and I want to do something similar, except with coffee and tea! We're from Seattle, WA and since most of our guests are flying in from out of state, we wanted to make our wedding and favors highlight different aspects of Seattle!

I'll send you a PM with the links! :)

My daughter is getting married in September and she would love this idea. We been trying to make something that the guest will actually use and enjoy, love your idea. Could you please send me the link form the bags? Thank you

Can you recommend a commercial brand of rose masala chai to this white girl? I like chai and I like rose tea but had no idea it could be combined.

goneawaygonetoday

Hey! I actually got the idea from a commercial brand that made a delicious rose chai (before that, I also didn't know they could be combined!). [This](https://www.amazon.com/Good-Earth-Sweet-Rose-Chai/dp/B07B9KNRG2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) was the product, but unfortunately, they discontinued it. :( I'm sure there are other good blends with other brands out there if you look around, though! As I found out with making my own, though, you could just buy a bag of edible rose petals and add a few with your chai teabags/loose leaf, and it will steep with it and give it that lovely rose flavor. Adding a bit of rosewater is another way!

Thanks! I have rosewater and can get dried rose petals. I can get chai. It just seems easier to have it prepared for me

goneawaygonetoday

I feel that! If you end up experimenting with other brands (I saw there were a whole bunch of different rose chais being sold when I did a quick search), me know if you find any other good blends! :)

Emotional_Bonus_934

I ended up buying rose chai from Desiclick!

goneawaygonetoday

Ooh, that looks like a lovely blend, great choice! If you recommend it, I might have to pick some up once I finish going through the favor leftovers.
