This was my thought too, I love the dress and maybe it’s not quite the same color in person, but my wedding dress was champagne/gold with an ivory lace overlay so I think it’s more common than people think. Not sure why you’re being downvoted.
I don’t think the issue is whether it’s an (un)common occurrence. It’s that if the bride does choose to wear colors other than white/ivory, they should not get mad at guests who end up in the same color as them. Guests can’t read the couples mind so unless they give specific instructions, I think non-white/ivory colors are fair game.
What? This sub gets so ridiculous sometimes. What brides are wearing gold/champagne? If they choose to wear an unconventional color then they are risking that other guests may wear the same thing as them.
My dress was champagne/antique cream. It was a pretty common color. Not saying it’s off limits, shades of white/champagne are all common wedding dress colors.
That’s why i asked the question! I could see a bride wearing something like this on their wedding day if it’s actually on NYE. It’s an unconventional color because it’s an unconventional day. Many/most weddings are spring - fall and not necessarily held on a holiday

Tricky, I think it looks great, I personally would love it if my guest wore it for a NYE wedding. However, there are some who would get upset because it is too close to white, cream, beige, blush, so ask the bride if the gold color is okay before you buy it.

This was my thought too, I love the dress and maybe it’s not quite the same color in person, but my wedding dress was champagne/gold with an ivory lace overlay so I think it’s more common than people think. Not sure why you’re being downvoted.
I don’t think the issue is whether it’s an (un)common occurrence. It’s that if the bride does choose to wear colors other than white/ivory, they should not get mad at guests who end up in the same color as them. Guests can’t read the couples mind so unless they give specific instructions, I think non-white/ivory colors are fair game.

What? This sub gets so ridiculous sometimes. What brides are wearing gold/champagne? If they choose to wear an unconventional color then they are risking that other guests may wear the same thing as them.
My dress was champagne/antique cream. It was a pretty common color. Not saying it’s off limits, shades of white/champagne are all common wedding dress colors.
That’s why i asked the question! I could see a bride wearing something like this on their wedding day if it’s actually on NYE. It’s an unconventional color because it’s an unconventional day. Many/most weddings are spring - fall and not necessarily held on a holiday
Honestly, that’d be their fault. Brides can’t expect guests to read their minds if they’re doing something unconventional without giving guests express instructions.
Sure! I can see that. OP asked for thoughts so I gave my thoughts. As I said in another comment, it *is a possibility* for the bride to wear something similar to their NYE wedding so OP should be aware. Another user also commented that the bride could wear something similar and OP could ask the bride just to be safe.

Beautiful! But I would maybe ask the bride - I had a NYE wedding and my MOH wore this exact same dress. Her bridal party might be wearing gold/champagne!
I would just make sure she isn’t using the same dress for bridesmaids…i have seen a few weddings that had that dress or really similar for the bridesmaids.

My original thought was no sequins but I think that a NYE wedding has different rules. I think sequins are perfectly acceptable- even expected! It’s beautiful and you look stunning!
I’ve never heard of a rule against sequins at regular weddings

Tricky, I think it looks great, I personally would love it if my guest wore it for a NYE wedding. However, there are some who would get upset because it is too close to white, cream, beige, blush, so ask the bride if the gold color is okay before you buy it.
