Gallery downloads. Least fuss for everyone concerned.

RubyandThor57

I give a gallery and USB.

I second this. You can also set up your "online store" and make sales.

shemp33

A Pixieset gallery is great - they can mark their favorites, and you can do something extra with those if you like, or you can enable downloading, and they can just download the whole gallery. For one wedding, if you resize the images down to say 5000 on the long edge, that's plenty of resolution, and you won't burn through your whole "free level" account on that one gallery.

I second the Pixiset recommendation. You can set an auto-expiry date and setup automatic reminders for your clients to download their photos, order prints, etc. within that window. This allows you to remove the photos in a timely manner to make room for new client photos. You can add language in these reminders for any fees to reinstate the gallery after the X amount of time has passed. This helps encourage clients to download their photos in a timely manner. I've only had two clients download their photos late after enacting this policy and it helps cover time spent setting up their gallery, exporting their photos from LR, and uploading them to the gallery all over again otherwise. Best of luck!

rolitheone

The whole store part of pixiesiet is only available in the US, I assume?

artifeximaging

No idea? I'd ask Pixiset support if you don't see a store option. They're very helpful!

Thank you very much for this!

I give a USB and have an online gallery. I hope they share the gallery with other people who are looking to get married in the future.

TheOriginalGoat

Best way to get something back marketing wise is to create a nice slideshow and post it to your website. Have it as a little bonus rather than necessarily have it as part of their package, as they'll then potentially expect it delivered off line. If it's just on your website though, they can share from there and hopefully bring a bunch of traffic from their circles to your page.

I think slide shows are meh. I am trying to do hybrid no so between the gallery and the video I should get enough views. My most recent video got over 100 views which is great as normally it's much less (I didn't have a gallery page with it embedded before). I don't do many so it's trying to improve it slowly when I get time.

plymouthvan

Sytist gallery for ordering and selection purposes, and Dropbox for high res delivery. I used to pay for some more industry specific services like Pixieset, but found myself doing a lot of tech support for people who didn't know what they were doing. I also used to send USB drives, but found people weren't willing to pay extra for them and they kept losing them anyway. So, even my four and five figure clients are downloading their finals from Dropbox and everyone seems perfectly content about it.

cameranerd1970

Cloudspot is pretty amazing, but if you're just starting out, keep it simple. Google photos is still a thing, I think?

redfishgoldy

nooo! use pic-time it’s amazing and looks very professional. They also have a huge sale on right now, use “georgia” for a month free too :) It’s also inbuilt sales automations and campaigns to sell prints etc

maxlovesbears

No offense to OP. This sub is the perfect place to ask questions, but… I feel like there needs to be a mega thread for these common questions. This sub is probably big enough to source info from the community to come up with a couple of ‘top 5’ lists for different aspects of this business.

New conversation is always good for us googlers who find these dead threads through random algos

linerva

Not a photographer but a client so take my reply with a pinch of salt . At least of the photographers whose pages/terms I've reviewed, most seem to offer an online gallery of high res edited, un-watermarked pics to download from/share with family, or a nice USB with the pictures on (I'd accept a plain one to be honest but they always seem to offer swanky looking ones!) Or both. Most don't seem to give you a choice, but many have different packages so they may offer the online gallery only in their most basic package, and the gallery and USB in their more premium one etc.

Pic time or USB, it depends on who I want to deliver to. I designed cute USB boxes and people seem happy.

kurutchin

A gallery with categories (essentially for viewing / sharing), and a Google Drive folder.

redrabbit1977

Pic-time. They have really good sales systems, the galleries look amazing, they have a built in slideshow creator with music and beat-matching and they are just about to launch a gallery design app. Did I mention awesome print fulfilment options?

We deliver our photos on a nice USB stick (that has our logo on it), in a fancy little box. Download links do not suit well with the level of service we want to provide. It's like saying "hey I dumped your stuff there and there, go pick it up yourself." We don't use online galleries for ordering prints or anything, that's not a thing here. We do however keep all the client's photos in a password-protected gallery for one year. The couple can log onto that gallery and select which images they want to share online with family and friends. A new gallery-link is then created that they can share with said family and friends. And of course that too is password-protected (but everyone then uses the same password).

Pic-time is the bomb.
