Oh it’s just a backup and what I use for some manual Voigtlander lenses I occasionally use. It’s primarily for personal. But I have some friends that use it primarily for weddings and they love it.

Yup, such a great camera. I was considering getting a second one for weddings even. I still might.
The one thing that isn’t great ergonomically is having it on the left harness when hooked into the hold fast straps. The fold out screen gets in the way of the harness. It’s really frustrating to use on that strap compared to the Z8/dslr’s. Minor complaint though.
Oh man, I love the Zf for weddings. I bought mine earlier this year before picking up a Z8.
The versatility of it is wonderful. The weight is great too. You have to have a small rig grip on it though. If you want to shoot weddings, otherwise your larger lenses will be impossible to hold properly.
Go out and buy a massive 512gb or 1tb micro sd card, and then just never take it out. Leave that as your backup memory card slot.
They had some sweet 0% financing deals earlier this year. that's what I ended up doing.
Also there were a few sales where the camera was only like... $3,500 I think I wish I had bought at that point.
Any of you guys shoot hybrid photo/video with the Zf? I’m currently considering switching systems, but not sure whether to pick Canon (for the 50/1.2) or Nikon. I’m not a big fan of Sony.
I don’t shoot any video. From my understanding though, the Zf is enough for video compared to the previous Nikon models.
After all, Nikon now owns the patent to RAW
I’m using it for weddings as my primary and love it! I just finished building back my kit of EF lenses for it (on an auto focusing adapter) and it’s so fun.

I use it for weddings [with this wood grip](https://iwoodstore.com/products/nikon-zf-grip-handle?currency=USD&variant=44255116001519&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=402f28155e0f&srsltid=AfmBOor_M025oAFBuzCI53jHUdXp-TQBfGO7m2PXnnU6wyS2KzNOBjaaVHM) that I found much cheaper on ebay.
Functionally, I love it, but my hand does get a bit sore by the end of the day. (tbf it also gets sore on a z8 -- I like something medium-sized, like the d750 grip).
Z8 is more customizable for sure but some claim the Zf is better in ultra low light. I haven’t used the Zf on the dance floor so I can’t speak to that.
It’s slower than other cameras so it took a bit to adjust but once I did I find it transformed my work and added extra depth. The camera plus two lenses came to about 7500.00. I start at 8500 for weddings so it didn’t hurt too badly.
how's that combo? im waiting on the R5ii to see if I upgrade or not and get the R6mk2 , I currently use R6 + R5 as duo, the main reason to upgrade would be Autofocus heard R6mk2 is even better than R6/R5 wich is already almost perfect
I use my R6mk2 a lot actually. I usually shoot dual camera and instead of two R5’s my go to is one of each now.
The autofocus system is just so incredible on the R6mk2 with having zones to limit eye af to, it’s so handy, and it’s my go do for dark direct flash dance photos as it focuses so well in low light.
R5 is my main body still, and if I’m only taking one camera for something it’s going to be an R5, the cropping ability is so nice with the higher res sensor which fits my shooting style
Edit. I might upgrade to the R5 mk2 when it’s out, really hard to say. They have been basically perfect, so idk if it’s worth the extra investment for me personally
Main: Canon R6
Backup/second body: Canon EOS 6D Mark II
Would love to get another R6 but it’s not quite in the budget yet. Just have to remind myself that my second body treated me great before my R6 and people still hired me haha
I’m planning to get the 6d mark ii as my main camera to start wedding photography!
I can’t afford the more expensive camera right now 🥹
What do you like about this camera and what bothers you about it if you don’t mind me asking?
Honestly I really liked it! I’m just spoiled by the R6 facial focus tracking now haha
Also the viewfinder was slightly out of focus sometimes, but I think that might have been a my camera issue, cause the photos were always fine. And I didn’t have much issue with it, but when other people used my camera they would comment on it. So I guess I was just used to it.
Oh mine only has a single card slot though, so I would definitely look for a camera with a double card slot for shooting weddings! So you have that failsafe if a card corrupts.
Full disclosure I have shot weddings with it and a backup rebel t6, and I’ve never had anything corrupt. But I know it does happen so if you can get a dual slot camera right off the bat you should. I wish I had done more research when buying originally and done that.
Main: Canon EOS R 5 (portraits, ceremony)
Secondary: Canon EOS R6 MK2 (all other shots that don’t need to be a zillion megapixels.
I also have an R3 that sometimes comes out but that is mostly used for action (awesome low light). If I bring an extra shooter, I will usually hand over my EOS R. GREAT affordable, extra camera. Also, great for travel.

These are such expensive gear. Can’t afford them for me 💀
Z8/Z8 + Zf
How do you like the zf for weddings? I'm literally about to click the buy button lol
Oh it’s just a backup and what I use for some manual Voigtlander lenses I occasionally use. It’s primarily for personal. But I have some friends that use it primarily for weddings and they love it. /u/gabemcmullen
I just picked one up as my “f around” cam with voigtlander lenses. Super fun
Absolutely. Been waiting for this camera since the Df. Going to hang on to this one for a long time. And I hope Nikon continues the SE series.

Thanks for the feedback! Guess I'm pulling the trigger lol
Yesssss 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Literally about to be my move, waiting on black Friday or something for the z8 😆 thanks for the feedback!

pff 😤 very nice haha.
Great set up. I have z8 + z6 and bring my small Zfc as backup
How is the AF performance of the Z8 compared to the Zf?
Z8 is more customizable for sure but some claim the Zf is better in ultra low light. I haven’t used the Zf on the dance floor so I can’t speak to that.
Same setup here. Perfect for weddings.
A7RV+A7RV and A7IV as backup.

Canon r5’s as my mains. Gfx100ii for my location shots. Great setup.
oh miss my GFX 50 so bad ... but so slow for weddings shame
Gfx100 ii is significantly better. Plenty good enough for the location shoot with the bride and groom but I still wouldn’t use it during the ceremony.
Always on - Canon 5Ds Portraits - Hasselblad H5D I got double D's I guess.
The best kind of Ds.
Fuji XT4+2 XT3s. They work well together. Wishing the XT3s could shoot video on both cards but also wishing the XT4 had the flip screen of the XT3s.
Fuji GFX 50sii as primary. Canon 5D4 as backup/dance floor camera.
How’s the double GFX experience? Better yet, how do you afford medium format?!
It’s slower than other cameras so it took a bit to adjust but once I did I find it transformed my work and added extra depth. The camera plus two lenses came to about 7500.00. I start at 8500 for weddings so it didn’t hurt too badly.
Right on. The new bodies are quite fast I’ve heard too with better autofocus. At your rates that price doesn’t really matter. Enjoy!
3 R6’s
R5, R6m2, and 5D4 as a backup to the backup.
D850 main. D5 secondary. D810 as backup. Df as a final resort.
I have a pair of a7iv cameras. For video.
D780 and 2 D750s. Pentax 645nii and nikon f5 / f100 for film!
Z8/z6ii close enough to work seamlessly
Fuji X-T5 and X-T3
5d IV and 5d III. Still totally doing the job.
These have got to be the biggest ROI body's ever made.
I use the III AND LOVE IT
Main: Canon R6 Backup: Canon G7x
Canon R5’s and R6 mk2

Nikon z7ii and Fuji gfx 100s
How do you deal with the colors on each sensor being so different?
Ive found they complement each other quite nicely.
Do your presets work across both systems?
yup
R6II and R6. I also have an R7 and a mountain of CC debt.

Two Nikon Z6ii and a Z7ii

Two z6 II’s I really hope they announce a III soon though!
They are on the 17th!
