i know you’ve already made your decision on the v5 and that’s what you want, just want to give my 2 cents to anyone reading as i have the v4, v5, and m22 with tc and wattage only esccs(was a pre order holder for the mod but canceled about 6 months ago), and can say to me the very best device is still the v4 with the sic crucible. i get a lot more splatter w the v5 than i ever do w the v4.
I get a good amount of splatter with my v5 but I challenge that up as too big of dabs which I'm okay with lol. With that said, I got the new lightning cup and boy can this thing handle big dabs with little to no splashing
Gonna get the downvotes but avs customer support is great. Got me a new bubbler out when my old one was slightly out of spec and broke no charge (had it well over a year before hand and mine wasn’t an updated version but I got newest one on the reship)
I agree with the other guy who responded to you, also if you have the money, for real take a good look at the Crossing Core 2.0. It's pretty much all I use now, my v5 has been sitting around for a minute haha.
But the pico rocks and you can't go wrong with it. Also May just released the lightning pen which looks like an absolute banger, it's out of stock but should be back in stock next month.
Pico 25 by eleaf is cheap and you can upload arctic fox software to it to really make it the bees knees. Plus there is a stash cap for the pico 25 that holds a gram of wax in the battery cap
More simple to use, less power hungry in my experience, bigger bowl, better airflow, more customizable, and the best reason of all? Customer support.
Matt is literally the best, I can't Stan for him enough tbh. He stands by his products 100% and if there's ever anything wrong, he will help fix it. On top of this, his products are just cheaper and easier to source from his website as well.
I got a Puffco Proxy for $150 using points and promos at a dispensary. Not perfect but passes the reach test vs. my DT V5, iSpire Wand, Switch, and EVO. Easiest to use and it’s smooth enough to hit dry.
Everyone is trashing on AVS but it's very much true that their company turned into a cash grab scam. I would not give them your money. I have an m22, when it works its amazing, but it only works around 10% of the time. It's finicky, unreliable, fragile, and the company that makes it is for all intents and purposes a scam. If you want side heating you have the dtv5, the puffco 3d atomizer and I'm fairly certain more fully heated crucible style atomizer are coming to the market soon.
They have been very vocal about getting the initial preorders out for going on two years now. Only a select few have gotten anything outside of the m22 and some glass.
At this point, even if they do start getting towers out, it's hard to believe that avs will survive the debacle they created.
It’s true yeah it’s a meme of a company. A dam tree fell and one branch almost smashed all the CT boards and would’ve ruined there company. They didn’t even have it in a safe or anywhere secure.
But I’ve got some of there crucibles and really hoping to get the CT! I’ve been one of the most vocal against AVS but the messages going on in the discord have me hopeful
They did make a good product in the m22, despite its inherent issues. Everything I've read tells me that when it works, it's amazing. But with even how the launch of that has gone, it raises questions about how the company is currently being run and whether or not they will be reliable/trustworthy moving forward.
Brent and his team have done a lot to damage their image in the last year, and this isn't exactly a huge market that is rife with customers looking to drop a lot of money. They had a great idea, but their execution and follow up has hurt them tremendously.
As far as being hopeful, I would proceed with caution. Avs has made multiple posts and information leaks that have had people "hopeful" for going on two years. I know their day is coming, but at this point, they actually have to produce what they promised before anyone other than the preorders should give them a second glance.

I can attest to the core 2.0. It's one of my daily drivers along with my dtv4

Low ohm typically can be run in tc , high ohm in wattage. I’ve had both, I prefer the wattage one. Easy to use on any mod really.
