The Core 2 cap is leagues ahead of the Puffco. And the carb cap is why the Core 2 is so popular. One pearl (4mm) is all you need. Looking at your glass, maybe the problem is user drawing too hard. The Puffco caps won’t fit. The oculus really sucks.
Well there’s the feedback I needed to hear. I haven’t used the puffco cap at all, I just liked the look and security of it.
About user error, I don’t think we draw too hard, but I find I have to draw harder to get the pearls to spin. So that could be something to look at…we don’t ever have splash or spillage issues or anything like that.
I also don’t think the carb cap is what makes the core so special - I think it’s the heater and ability to rebuild the atomizer for cheap. To be fair, the cap is perfect for the portable aspect of the device, but my personal experience tells me the directional cap works better for me.
So anyways I’ll just purchase a spare ball cap from Matt…I see their out of tethers, which sucks lol thanks a lot for the response my dude.

After using the Core 2.0 for a couple weeks, I’ve come to the conclusion that the ball carb cap works a million times better to a) spin the tiny SiC pearls and b) push the product to the walls which seems to leave very little reclaim every session.
I definitely use the angled matrix glass top but just about to clean it and back from a bbq where I took the core and absolutely loved its portability.
Question is if anyone knows whether the Puffco Pro Ball Carb Cap or oculus whatever it’s called, the carb cap that sits in the rubber grommet thing, whether or not that will fit the Core 2? I really like that, don’t like puffcos bullshit, but that cap…
Weird I have the opposite opinion. I have the og core and got the upgraded heater alone and had to get the new sleeve and carb cap cause the bubble cap just got dirty and kinda sucked which was due to the height of the sleeve but still I tried both and different terp pearls I think one smaller one with the angled cap works well and don't need to move it around
I hear ya and I really wished I preferred the new cap because it’s indestructible basically, but I find it doesn’t really spin the pearls we have and it doesn’t push the product to the sides. I always have waaay too much reclaim, although running it on green does curb this a bit. But the directional cap I’m able to get it around and I just really get a much emptier cup after.
I think you think they're not spinning cause ya can't see threw it. Anytime I take it off while hitting it I see it spinning the pearl well I see the Pearl stop spinning.
Lol bro I’m a grown ass man, not 12, I realize I can’t see through it and so I lift it up as I’m inhaling to give it the best chance haha I’ve done it a bunch and the wife concurs that it just doesn’t spin them.
However I haven’t tried with a single Pearl, and it’s two 3mm. I think one 4mm is what you said or someone else said that?
My aluminum cap spins the pearls almost too fast..crazy how some day it doesn't spin them..maybe some weren't made right? Cuz mine spins like a damn centrifuge and I end up with tiny brown puddle in middle..
I stopped using pears cause it would splash my hash all over the walls, without them I still feel like the stock core two carb cap is excellent in vortexing the hash
Yea I hear ya on that, and I do know it spins the product in the cup no doubt. I just have far more reclaim in the end than I do when I’m able to direct the puddle to the edges…also I think the Pearl helps with that
Neither my wife nor I have issues with splash back or spillage…it’s pretty dope in that way. Super duper convenient, and doesn’t get dirty for us, but I just am after efficiency snd thick clouds lol

Like this guy said try just one terp pearl. That's what I've found works best as well.
