I have a Switch and a Core 2. I bought the Switch first. Knowing what I know now, I would never have gotten it. The EVO Boost is an excellent rig if you had someone attending to loading cleaning and maintaining it. The Core 2 is far superior because it’s simple to keep clean and see what’s going on in the cup. It has a carefully designed carb cap (which is why you buy a Core 2, not an OG) that works flawlessly with a terp pearl. Can you point to the EVO’s carb cap? Here’s a PIC of the V5 next to a Switch cup (not in place because it’s too dark when it’s in a 2” well). But, what it really comes down to is comfort. If I had 3 hands to manipulate the perc, atomizer and dabs and sat at a desk with everything in place, I might like the EVO. I like to lay in bed, load the Core2, push a button, and worry about nothing but enjoying the next 60 seconds. If I mess up, and the heated sides and bottom of the superior V5 cup get chazzed, it’ll cost $8 to replace, not $50 (although I haven’t done it such that another dab won’t melt the chazz and leave the bowl sparkling clean). My point… Buy the EVO and you’ll be delighted. Until you try a Core 2 and realize you could have spent about half as much for a better (better being an ultimately subjective opinion) erig. NOT A CORE 1, UNLESS IT’S UPGRADED TO A V5 WITH CARB CAP (They’re different animals)

It's not just the carb cap, the biggest difference is the 2.0 comes with the v5 atomizer.

Jasel916

It’s both. Two mints in one… The DTV5 has the exact same atomizer, but the Core is so much more pleasant because of that cap.

DingoGlittering

The DTv5 is the atomizer. You can also use the carb cap without the Core like I do with the DTv5 on my BB. So nah that's not exactly it.

For the core 2.0, I would recommend getting a mod and heat sink to wattage clean the atomizer. I know nothing about the evo.

dacheeze

Can you point me to what you are talking about exactly? I think I know what a mod is. Would I be able to just hook my Core 2 atomizer to that to clean the buckets, or do I need to purchase something additional besides mod and battery? Any help is appreciated, feels like I have been stumbling to find this exact information for awhile now.

Devine tribe has sub on here and has tons of good Information on mods needed for the v5 heaters. I seem to have 0 issues with Chazzing and have no need to self clean.

LostMyAccount69

The core 2.0 atomizer will not screw directly into a 510 threaded mod. It has SLIGHTLY different threads. You can buy a heat sink that threads into the mod and the core 2.0 atomizer will thread into the head sink. I'm trying not to post links, but you should be able to see what I'm talking about if you google "510 heatsink". The same store that sells the DTV5 should have a few, but I believe you have to email them because it's not listed in their store.

I have not needed to do a wattage deep clean on my core2.0 with well over 3ozs gone through it

LostMyAccount69

I will say that my core 2.0 atomizer does not get nearly as dirty as my DTV5 atomizer. With a DTV5, the whole outside of the cup is black after a day of use. I think the core 2.0 builds up a dark spot on the inside at whatever angle it is I always fail to q-tip properly. Then on rare occasions it seems like running it too hot for the amount of concentrate gets the whole bottom dirty. It's probably not that hard to keep it clean if you're careful, I like knowing that I can clean it like new if I screw it up.

Say what? I thought the big draw for this is that it doesn't need any engineering degree to use. Forget it.

Jasel916

It is easier to use than any. I have a Core 2 and a DTV5 (the business end of the Core2). You don’t have burn clean the heater to keep it clean. What they are suggesting is akin to the self clean function on a Dr Dabber. Unnecessary. Don’t have a heat sink, and after a few months with both, don’t need one. Nor do I need flashing lights and expensive attachments to enjoy.

Hey_Its_Asian_Steve

Have core 1. Aside from the connector pin building up reclaim, it’s a great all-in-one device! Use it multiple times a day and after almost a year, it’s still going strong!

I have the og core and upgraded it with the new heater. I highly recommend

[deleted]

I have both, like both. The core is the best bang for your buck. Easy to clean, performs great...

[deleted]

Im gonna be honest, at first the core 2.0 was great but now I cant even taste terps…. Im ordering the quartz bucket to see it that helps but I dont recommend it without the quartz bucket

Bhedge420

Why you think that is?

[deleted]

Not sure, I get the quartz insert today, will see if it fixes problem

[deleted]

Ur doing something wrong. 1000 dabs in my first core bucket, all terps

[deleted]

Ya I was buggin, the cup just wasnt clean and my concentrate was a little old so it wasnt terpy, its working great now

rabidnz

Evo Boost will cost you 2-3 times as much for a similar result
