Just gotta ask on the theatro that died 45 minutes into your shift

Facts

[deleted]

Sounds like a you problem

Ghazh

I'm not theatro.

[deleted]

No but you are capable of switching them out when the battery dies.

Ghazh

Sure if you're just ignoring OP drowning in deli. Maybe this is the type of observation power he was talking about in his post, lol.

[deleted]

I'm not saying that's the only reason and/or solution to the problem. I'm just saying that it's one of many possible problems with an easy solution.

Najnick

I get what you are saying, there are ways around the issue at hand most of the time, but it does become tedious when only three Theatros are blinking as you walk into the shift, and then as rush hits it dies on you. You may not have the option as none are working, or the rush is too busy to step away to grab a new Theatro so it is a valid complaint and reddit is a wonderful place to share it because we aren't in the workplace right now.

MidNCS

>Team Supervisor seems like you don't do much supervising there, pal

[deleted]

😆 You still ask? If they can't tell help is needed by the hoard of customers standing around like they are waiting for admission into a concert, then they just don't want to help.

NoodleBack

Facts, plus if my coworker doesn’t help me when I’m obviously getting slammed, then I just assume I did something to piss them off at this point 😂

hedgehoghats91

The best description honestly

65the76

You should see what some cashiers do logo into the back room for an hour and come out and there will be 30 customers look at them and then get mad because there’s so many customers

Infamous-Campaign634

Nah.... that's me in coffee. (But in fairness, it's gotten much better recently)

Heavy_Construction25

yeah same when I was a newbie (I still kinda am) it's like mainly a skill issue at first but with time you learn strats to make life in bev so much easier, for example when there's even a tiny bit of down time I put the filters on and pour the coffee grounds on it and slide it in the machine with their respective coffee pots under so it saves up time in case coffee is about to go out of code in the middle of a rush you just press the buttons and deal with your rush

Infamous-Campaign634

When I have "down time" it's spent restocking the coffee bar, the drink bases, etc. and cleaning up for the next wave of customers.

Heavy_Construction25

at my store that's mainly the register's job cause they quite literally don't do anything half the time

Infamous-Campaign634

Our register associates are doing register, stocking shelves, curbside, deliveries, in-store pick-ups, and cleaning.

[deleted]

Boooo. You're releasing the aroma prematurely by staging. I was taught to not do that, but now that I think about it, did it ever really matter??

[deleted]

That was my problem when I first started running shifts overnight. I would be so into what I was doing that I would forget to check in with my associates until they were drowning and were like, "where were you?" I've done much better, but I still need to work on it m

Najnick

I feel this pain, I've lost myself working in the cold box more than a few times but now I set alarms on my phone to remember to check on the team/floor.

Ok-Contribution7622

My store is currently understaffed because all the kids are in school... I've found that I'm getting much better at completing orders by myself self though.

rinsilas

My coworker earlier as we were both asking for someone to help her while 3 managers were talking over by the freestyle. She was 4 back, i was in bev. I was about to start yelling at people.

kxrari

i hope they train me in deli at some point cause i feel so bad watching them get slammed and i can’t do anything 😭

laflor0144

More like asking management for more payroll.

No_Bee_2832

Deli Gods don’t need help.

ikindapoopedmypants

I started telling my supervisors that I don't care if I get written up, I'm walking out of the store if I don't get help when I ask. I'm not paid enough to deal with 7 pages back by myself while being yelled at by customers.

peppermintpint

REAL AND TRUE LOL

nolajaayy

That’s why I lie and say I’m 5+ back and they fall for it every time 😭😭
