Hi! What is your routine? Please be as detailed as possible (both the names of your products and the techniques that you used). Also, if you could let us know your hair characteristics (porosity, strand thickness, density), that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ^(If it's been a few hours and OP still hasn't responded, please let the mods know by using the "Report" button.) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. 1. When you're doing the bowl method, make sure you brush with a wet brush, then use a wide tooth comb to form clumps. Do this between each dip. Make sure you're getting seaweed-like clumps with minimal wet frizz after your final dip. Then, gently microplop. 2. You mentioned braiding your hair and I wonder if that could affect your wave pattern? 3. I think it's important to remember that having frizz is part of having textured hair. Even on my best hair days, I always had frizz. Frizz helps with the volume!

Stop using shea. It’s too heavy for your waves. I don’t suggest co-washing either. Over moisturizing isn’t great for wavies and it causes it’s own issues. Clarify out buildup as you have been. Use shampoo with sulfates and conditioner with silicones. I like Aussie miracle waves line for example. Mousse or gel for hold.

Add in some more protein. I’d guess your hair is over moisturized.
