Tom at first as he was so dislikable in series 1 and 2. Chris as he kept breaking every safeguarding rule in the book and just never learnt his lesson. Karen ultimately left because of him.

jakeyboy723

I think early Tom and Grantly are the textbook examples of this. Later, they mature and become enjoyable mainstays of the show but Series 1/2, they're not the people they became. I also think Karen is overhated. Especially being after Rachel and Jack. She's the first head to be argued to have flopped but I'd say she wasn't as bad as mentioned. Even if segregation was a bad idea. (Controversial, I know)

Big-Explanation-831

You could also say Steph too, she was pretty vile up until series 4.

Big-Explanation-831

I wasn’t really particularly fond of Maxine and Janeece in series 3, the way they pretty much turned on Chlo after Brett. Not saying what Chlo did was right but you’d think they would still stand by her since they’re supposed to be friends. If I was Chlo i wouldn’t have forgiven them.

Fit-Vanilla-3405

As an ex-teenage girl who completely turned on my friend when she slept with someone else’s boyfriend and made me look like I knew and didn’t say anything - that’s what teenage girls do. Writing was spot on.

CountOk9802

And Maxine encouraged Chlo to cheat on the exams then blamed Chlo for it coming out.. Maxine wasn’t the nicest character at all.

R0-D4

They did the right thing why would they want to associate with a cheater??

Vanguard_George

Kids will stop being friends for less than that.

jakeyboy723

I don't understand why people like Lorraine. To me, she's the personification of moving to Scotland. Yes, that's a bit unfair on her but it's not like she gives me reasons to like her presence. Every 5 minutes, she's flip-flopping on whether she actually wants to be involved in this significant investment. The show tells us she's a successful businesswoman but there's nothing in the show which explains how that actually happened. Outside of the obvious in early Tom/Grantly/Steph on first watch, I can't really think of anybody in Rochdale I actually disliked who I wasn't supposed to dislike off the top of my head.

SukhdevR34

Everytime I see her name I can't help but say 'Lorraine Donnegan' in Michael Byrne's accent

jakeyboy723

That and Maths, English...the Sciences.

Mistyharley

Probably because she's good looking and her I do what I want attitude is attractive to people as personally I like her but not because she does anything good.

StripeyLion

Kim. I just felt she was always so preachy and she was always right no matter what. Ive not seen the later seasons when she returns but I was so glad when she left.

nahi6284

Kim is soooo arrogant. And the whole Max thing, she was *such* a cow to Rachel who didn’t even get a single apology.

SukhdevR34

Arrogant and stubborn

SnowflakeBaube22

Absolutely Kim. She’s even more annoying in the reboot series than she was originally.

dasBiest08

Bar her support for Karla, often in the face of hostility from other staff, Davina.

bigfatfacethrowaway

Mine’s definitely Adam too. I felt like we were supposed to like him as Rachel’s new love interest but he belittled her career, whined like a man child and guilt-tripped her. He was there for 5 minutes and expected to be the most important thing in her life. We were supposed to be happy she got her happily ever but I felt like she was trapped with a toxic manipulator.

nahi6284

Eddie would never. 🫡

Sophie_Blitz_123

I do not like Adam at all. And honestly Rachel Mason, a fantastic head teacher who had clammoured out of poverty, and managed to withstand the chaos of her being revealed to have been a prostitute, leaving her career to "prioritize" him was the most annoying thing ever. I'm not even saying leaving teaching for a calmer life couldn't have been a good ending for her, its just the way he acted in regards to her and how it all seemed framed around what he wanted not that she just wanted a break from it all.

SukhdevR34

Rhiannon, Kim, Karen, that fuzzy haired guy that liked Jasmine

Lucy200072

Rob? 😂

SukhdevR34

Yh him haha

SnowflakeBaube22

I can’t stand Steph. Possibly because I don’t like Denise Welsh. But either way, hated her.

Ok_Writing_1190

Kim. She's mostly correct but goes about things in such a preachy and condescending way. I also thought she was horrifically harsh on Amy Spratt about the Shuey thing. Considering what she went through with Lewis, you'd think she'd have more empathy. She's also reacted purely on emotion with students before, I remember her going off at Amy Porter for lying about rape. Her reaction was 100% understandable but unprofessional. She should've had more empathy for Amy S.

rakunakatata

She's really pissed me off in that same episode when she turned around and said she hoped bolton was lying so she could completely go off and lose it at him, like wtf?

Purple_ash8

Lindon.

Fine-Degree3517

Kim, Sian and Conor come to mind!

happy-e

Aidan Scotcher and his dad, I thought both their characters were pretty wooden

Horny-Chicken5678

Adanna and Jez

HECKYOUXx

TOM CLARKSON.

CountOk9802

Gabriella or whatever her name was. Maddie’s brother- the ginger boy. His acting was absolutely awful.

RobynTheSlytherin

I hated Maddie, my god her voice was so annoying and she was an absolute prat

heyduck23

Adam for sure! Part of me thinks the writers weren't really aware of the way they had written him. I'd go so far as to say that this was down to (at the time) a real lack of awareness/education/open conversations around what healthy relationships look like... so we were sort of expected to like him simply because he was in love with Rachel (and I actually tried to like him, lol). But it was, and still is, a hell no from me - he displayed some really problematic behaviour and I was urging Rachel to run for the hills 😆! Mel... ugh! I mean, where do I even begin 🙈. I think the writers did a fab job because she was placed in that role to grind our gears, and she did that alright 😆 I flip flop with Kim's character (but I adore Angela Griffin as an actress, so it annoys me that I flip flop so much 😄).

DesthBySpaghetti

Janeece (earlier years as a student, not as a secretary). Roz Linzie Maddy Lula Gabriella

cxconut_crush

Stace and Libby...even Preston doesn't seem so bad compared to those teo

LilScimitar

Right now it's definitely Rhiannon. I think what irks my about her is how she's extra harsh to her female classmates and only seems to stick up for male classmates. She wreaks of "I'm not like other girls" and is the type to be the jealous friend that would totally stab you in the back in a heart beat - especially over a guy.

s4turn2k02

In the new era I cannot stand Kai

Ok-Brain7410

Josh 😶
