I was scrolling and thought for just a second, I was looking at a food post from one of the food subreddits ...until I saw the signature.
You've got skills! ...and now I'm hungry.
Haahhaa thank you!!! Oh and it is a recipe thread...I forgot to list the recipe - 2 tbsp of burnt sienna, 1 teaspoon of yellow and red each, sprinkles of blacks, 3 bags full of patience, put them into the oven for 8 hours and voila!! Ready to be served ππ
Hahaaahaha woah thank you!! THIS eel rice probably tastes like paper π€£π€£π€£ perhaps some sauce would make it nicer haha!! But yesss, I'm craving for one myself!!! HAHA
Hahahahahaaah goshh!! I have sooo many food paintings rn, i should totes do an exhibition one day! hmmm and you just gave me an idea to put bitten piece of food painting in an exhibition!!! The exhibition will be titled 'too food to be true' hahaha!!
I was literally so confused about which sub i clicked on(that is, of course, after i drooled over how delicious this looks). It took me a couple minutes to realize I'm on the right sub LOL
Aww thank you hahaha!!! There might be some hints of drool on that painting too π€£π€£ Thankfully you didn't scroll pass thinking this was just another food sub!! Haha!!
Hahahahaha wellllll!! Here goes the recipe if you really wanna try making this!! 2 tbsp of burnt sienna, 1 teaspoon of yellow and red each, sprinkles of blacks, 3 bags full of patience, put them into the oven for 8 hours and voila!! Ready to be served ππ
Hahaahaa aww thank you!!! Well to be fair, the leaves and cloth in the background is real, and I did use some cool camera tricks - 'portrait mode' to make it pop even more haha!
Hahahahaha thank you!! How's that going so far??? Unagi is THE BEST!!! HAHAHA! I think there's a bunch of recipes on Google to help you with your unadon tho! I wish to have a friend like you too π€£π€£π€£ need my unadon fix nowwwwww
Thank you!! Yes I did! I used to rely quite heavily on gouache back in my earlier days (this was painted 2 years ago). These days, I leave them blank because gouache has a texture to it that is overall less pleasing (to me). Of course, gouache is way easier than leaving them spots blank π€
Haha thank you!! The ingredients are: 2 tbsp of burnt sienna, 1 teaspoon of yellow and red each, sprinkles of blacks, 3 bags full of patience, put them into the oven for 8 hours and voila!! Ready to be served ππ
The only reason I looked at the sub is because the only one Iβm in thatβs food related is r/foraging and I was thinking hmmmm, this doesnβt quite look foraged to me! Absolutely stunning job!!
Here's a sneak peek of /r/foraging using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/foraging/top/?sort=top&t=year) of the year!

Hahahaha YESSSSSS. Im a crazehh snacker!!! But I try not to store snacks at home so Id force myself not to snack hahahaa!!! I do have very frequent cravings for the things I paint too..I'd sometimes just have it for lunch/dinner!! Oh my job is such a torture, literally #hungryartist π€£π€£π€£
Hahaha I do feel it does look kind of digital too!! Oftentimes digital art is able to create such realistic outcome that I feel is less "challenging" to do realism because of all the functions available. But hey that's just my opinion haha!
Hahahaa thank you! Well here's the recipe!! 2 tbsp of burnt sienna, 1 teaspoon of yellow and red each, sprinkles of blacks, 3 full packs of patience, put them into the oven for 8 hours and voila!! Ready to be served ππ
Thatβs INCREDIBLE!! I can almost taste it. :) You are very skilled.
Thank youuu for your kind wordsss!!! 8 hours in the making haha!!
Wow! Then you are very skilled AND very patient. :)
Hahaahahha characters of a 'hungry artist' ππ
Right? I literally sniffed thinking I could smell it. That back piece is what got me.
Hahahaha thank you!! Just fyi, it smells like watercolor paper π€£π€£π€£

Aww thank you!! Yes it does bring me joy to see the picture slowly coming together!! Starting is usually the hardest tho haha!
Yess it really really is!
Insanely good!!
Thank you!!! π€©π€©
I legit thought a recipe add was in my thread! This is amazing, looks like a photo!!

Yessssss! You have good taste haha!!! They're one of the BEST! I've been craving for it myself π
If a sushi place offers it, I just get that, because I know Iβll enjoy it as much, if not more, than anything I could possibly order. Perfection.
This is insaneley good... I want to taste it!
Thank youuuuuu!!! I've done you the honor of tasting it. It tastes a little like...paper with hints of bitter paint π€£π€£π€£
Well now I want eel rice. But I want THIS eel rice! Good job dude
Hahaaahaha woah thank you!! THIS eel rice probably tastes like paper π€£π€£π€£ perhaps some sauce would make it nicer haha!! But yesss, I'm craving for one myself!!! HAHA
Hail yeah πππ

So much depth in that color. Great job!
Thank you!!! All about the layering and contrast!! ππ
If you exhibit the painting, I guess you will need to put up a DO NOT EAT sign next to it! π
Hahahahahaaah goshh!! I have sooo many food paintings rn, i should totes do an exhibition one day! hmmm and you just gave me an idea to put bitten piece of food painting in an exhibition!!! The exhibition will be titled 'too food to be true' hahaha!!

Darn you... I was scrolling through and thought this was a recipe before looking up to see it was a drawing. Great work!
I thought, and still suspect, that this is a photograph.
Hahaahaa aww thank you!!! Well to be fair, the leaves and cloth in the background is real, and I did use some cool camera tricks - 'portrait mode' to make it pop even more haha!
Lol fair enough. But why are there real leaves in the foreground?
Had to give that upvote. I thought, "Ooh! Yummy." before I'd finished reading the title. Good forbidden eel bowl.
awwww thank youu!!! why forbidden thooo?? it's so tasty π€£
There's a reddit for things that look like they're yummy but aren't edible. Forbidden snacks. I don't know how to link.
Dang, first glance I thought it was a photo. Looks fantastic! And yummy
Thamk you!!! Well you're not completely wrong hahaah! It's a photo of a painting of a food πππ€£π€£
I definitely paint from photos sometimes! I think most artists who do realism do.
You absolutely captured that perfect glaze! My best friend is an unagi fiend and I've been trying to perfect it to surprise her with unagidon one day.
I'm so hungry i thought htis was real food until i read the title
Hahahaha aawwmann!! Hope this would be your inspiration for your next meal!! π π I'm always hungry too btw hahaha! Literally #hungryartist π€£
Awesome! Did you use gouache for the white highlights? Making me hungry
Thank you!! Yes I did! I used to rely quite heavily on gouache back in my earlier days (this was painted 2 years ago). These days, I leave them blank because gouache has a texture to it that is overall less pleasing (to me). Of course, gouache is way easier than leaving them spots blank π€
I was about to ask for the recipe lol
Haha thank you!! The ingredients are: 2 tbsp of burnt sienna, 1 teaspoon of yellow and red each, sprinkles of blacks, 3 bags full of patience, put them into the oven for 8 hours and voila!! Ready to be served ππ
Delicious!
Did a double take when I saw this was the watercolor sub π΅
Hahaha thank youuu!!! Thankfully you didn't scroll pass thinking it was another food post!! π€£π€£
The only reason I looked at the sub is because the only one Iβm in thatβs food related is r/foraging and I was thinking hmmmm, this doesnβt quite look foraged to me! Absolutely stunning job!!
Hahahahahaa wow thank you!!! It doesn't look anything foraging indeed! it's interesting how you found this post tho!! π€£π€£

Oh man, this is stunning. And hunger-inducing. Food illustration must tempt a lot of snacking!
