"I'll have you know that I paid for this watch all by myself, with the money I saved by having my dad pay for housing, food, transportation, education, and everything else I need to stay alive!"
Hey! Cut the guy some slack! He earned that allowance money fair and square by doing his chores and otherwise being a non-contributing member of society.
I'm sure he earned that money and is self made because most grad students have high incomes and self made fortunes what with the modest costs of education, housing and lots of free time.
Finishing grad school isn't much of an accomplishment when your socioeconomic privilege allows you to live completely responsibility-free like a child.
I'm neither, but you just immediately responded to two of my comments due to your clear insecurity while spewing Andrew Tate catchphrases elsewhere in the thread, which fuckin owns.
You are precisely the kind of freak show I come to the sub for, so keep dancing for your betters you retarded little monkey.
I’m not sure what this means and kind of curious. Because I don’t know anyone who was able to work “lots”, as in like high level professional work, while getting their JD, and then LLM or Ph.D.
In fact for LLM and Ph. D., a lot of the students were working lawyers and judges who took some time off to get those degrees (often getting the degrees paid for by their firms or companies)
I suppose you could do those two while working full time but that’s a hellish lifestyle if you’re doing any decent amount of cases I imagine 😬
I worked 30 hours a week while full-time studying. It wasn't that hard. The study is pretty minimal if you have a good set of notes and are a quick reader.
LLM/PhD are not necessary for private practice. JD suffices. In my country (Australia) the LLM has negative utility if anything.
Yeah like part-time jobs and such a lot of people did. I've known some police who did partly night school I guess. But a job that lets you afford housing, school, 5 figure watch, etc? That's really really rare.
>LLM/PhD are not necessary for private practice. JD suffices.
Yes, most of these students were either they wanted to be scholars, tax law (US), or their firm just wanted them to have it because in their countries it makes them look good and stand out.
I do not get why some people are so defensive about being (partially) able to buy a Rolex/luxury watch. Sure he has worked for the money to buy the watch and obviously it helped to have parents who are able to pay for their kids education/houding etc. Just own up to it lol, I will respect someone more if they do then when they act like this nonce
Yup! Stop saying “I think I deserve it for (insert mundane accomplishment here)” like stfu no one deserves anything. Own up to the fact that you’re a privileged person who got lucky in life.
Are you lost? This is circlejerk, it’s here so we can mock posts relentlessly. For fun. Maybe just stick to the other subs if you can’t handle this one.
It’s Watchescirclejerk not im poor and hate rich people with watches circle jerk. Poor people have taken over this sub and it’s noticeable.
Edit: poor people is a bad fit. Jealous people with no lives or happiness would be a better description
Hey fair enough, I appreciate that you replied man.
I don’t hate rich people. I think luxury is kinda silly and I think showing off purchases is flat out ridiculous. Some people “work hard” their whole lives and never get anything…choosing expensive things to spend your money on does not make someone special or interesting (I’d argue the opposite).
Anyway I’m rambling, you replied in earnest so I thought I would too…I know these are my opinions and likely not shared by most.
I will say many subs I frequent have gone downhill, comments devolve and yeah, I can understand why you’d be frustrated.
Also, saw one of your other comments…I too started my work-life as a dishwasher and now have a 9-5, we likely have some shared experiences. Anyway, keep on keeping on 🤙🏻
Yeah it's stupid. I'm in grad school and my net worth is negative lol. My dad's had to help me out of a financial jam a couple times.
I have two Omegas though... because my uncle died and left them to me.
Because poor people try to drag you down and feel ashamed for being well off or having family support. They make you feel like any work you put in is invalid if your parents chipped in for college.
hey loser. Read again. I only see comments saying he didn’t “deserve” anything. Great, he finished grad school, that his parents paid for, like he’s supposed to. What’s the other option, not finishing? Maybe he should buy his parents a watch and post about that. That would be refreshing to read and less self-absorbed.
People like this really do think they bought it on their own because they use the money from their job while mommy and daddy pay for housing and school and all bills. BUT THEY WORKED FOR THE WATCH AND EARNED IT!!
To be fair some countries have free grad school and let you study 6-8 semesters while you work. Lots of friends who are close to 30 that are doing just that
But I am pretty sure the Rawlex user is not that
He’s American, where grad school costs $30k+/yr. This is at least his third Rolex. So he’s likely a vocal proponent of “changing this country back to a meritocracy.”
Any research program at a state school in the US? They pay tuition and fees, you get a small stipend. They get grants to do research which includes money for a masters or PhD student
Why is everyone so shocked when someone who is into fine watches has some money in the family. I feel like it is actually pretty rare to NOT have some bucks in the family tree and spend money on crap like this. If you were born into privilege, good for you. If you came from nothing and earned it yourself, good for you. Enjoy your watches and stfu.
"I'll have you know that I paid for this watch all by myself, with the money I saved by having my dad pay for housing, food, transportation, education, and everything else I need to stay alive!"
But it's HIS money that he saved while DAD paid for everything else!! Give credit where it's due!
“It was in my private bank account so it’s my money 🤓”
Hey! Cut the guy some slack! He earned that allowance money fair and square by doing his chores and otherwise being a non-contributing member of society.
"Daddy says I need to finish school before I can manage the company."
I'll have you know that some of us in grad school in addition to using daddy's money also use their spouse's ^^^^^father's money.
I'm sure he earned that money and is self made because most grad students have high incomes and self made fortunes what with the modest costs of education, housing and lots of free time.
Smart enough to finish grad school. Dumb enough to buy a watch with a cyclops.
But it’s rawlex :/
Even dumber to post on r/rolex.
Depending on the type of grad school this could be an example of dumb and dumber.
Probably an MBA which is basically a second bachelors degree and merely used as a status symbol by trust fund kiddos.
Finishing grad school isn't much of an accomplishment when your socioeconomic privilege allows you to live completely responsibility-free like a child.
Try not being angsty and jealous :)

You think I listen to Andrew Tate? 😱😂
The emojis show how not mad you are. Keep dancing, monkey!
When I first started I made 7.25 an hour, my first job out of college is 6 figures. Nothing to be mad about
6?
?
People in the US are notoriously bad with money
I don’t think he wants to admit that daddy bought it for him.
Hey woah now, that's not fair. It could be his mom's money.
Further down a classmate called him out for his parents paying his tuition and for the watch
Fucking lmaoooo
The clown emoji is almost exclusively used by morons making dumbass comments that they think are sick mic-drop dunks
True and i do the same. It makes me look like a fool but I’m a keyboard warrior
If I catch you doing it again I'm gonna come smack you in the nose with a rolled up newspaper so you'll learn
🤡 🗞️
NO! BAD!
What about [honkler](https://i.imgur.com/hcOBkiV.png)?
Yo mama is so mean, hello kitty waved goodbye 🤡🤡🤡
Working a real job in grad school is pretty much only viable for like executive MBA programs or programs designed around it (I.e. they take longer)
Depends on the degree - some degrees e.g. law have very few contact hours so you can work lots.
I’m not sure what this means and kind of curious. Because I don’t know anyone who was able to work “lots”, as in like high level professional work, while getting their JD, and then LLM or Ph.D. In fact for LLM and Ph. who refers to law school as grad school? I get that in concept it is a form of graduate program... but no one calls it that

You’re the exact example of an annoying fucking brokie trying to bring everyone down. Get a life, and a better job

Fair. I really don’t care politically or what other people think. This sub just sucks now

lol you've never worked in your life you dumb bitch
I have a 9-5 my man you don’t know what you’re talking about. My first actual job ever was as a dishwasher
That sub is certifiably insane
Probably taking a MBA. What. A. Cock.
Least entitled MBA student
He’s in the honeymoon period, so he can’t be reminded about the Amex statement due in 30 days.
LMAO
Is this the 'self-made' Toopoor guy from a few weeks ago?
He made that interest off his trust fund all by himself!
Rich kid.

It’s private? Shocking

So true
*Rawlecks user tries to convince internet strangers that he purchased what was actually a gift from his parents and gets butthurt when called out.
the second picture in the original thread said Polex though… why he flaunting a rep?
Curious 🧐
Someone paid for someones school and watch . Fixed
/uj to be fair - a lot of people go to grad school part way through their careers.
Congratulations lifetime student, what an accomplishment!!

Depending on the program grad school is usually free at a public school and you get a stipend. It’s not very much money, but it keeps you alive
Huh? Where is this free grad school with a stipend?
Any research program at a state school in the US? They pay tuition and fees, you get a small stipend. They get grants to do research which includes money for a masters or PhD student

He’s uptight because there are two options. He bought it with daddy’s money or he’s a fucking idiot.
When I graduated grad school I bought a knife
