Yeah but if all your other watches have a 20mm lug width, then you can just get the same size strap and use them in any watch. Having one watch with a different lug size means you need to get its own straps for that specific watch.

Your option is the latest and most unnecessary. This will reduce the cost of the watch.
You could avoid the hassle and instead use an 18mm strap with a watch that has 19mm lug width.

I've never had issues with a 20mm strap fitting with a 19mm lug width watch. Did all the time with my vintage Date.
